  • GM 'definitely' wants to re-sign Jack Doyle
Colts GM Ryan Grigson said he "definitely" wants to re-sign impending free agent TE Jack Doyle.

Advice: This, of course, assumes Grigson will still be the general manager, but it looks like he is safe at this point. Doyle had a breakout 2016, hauling in 59 passes for 584 yards and five touchdowns. All three numbers eclipsed his career totals entering the year. Doyle is not the type of dynamic receiving threat which commands big dollars on the open market, but he should be looking for more than the three-year, $13-million deal Brent Celek landed last January. • Chiefs add 10 on reserve/future contracts
Chiefs signed WR Seantavius Jones, OG Jordan Devey, QB Joel Stave, OT Joseph Cheek, DB Jimmy Hall, DT Cory Johnson, DE David King, LB Earl Okine, DB Julian Wilson, and FB Will Ratelle to reserve/future contracts.

Advice: Jones made some noise a couple training camps ago with the Saints, but he was waived by the Chiefs before final cuts last August. He will get another shot to latch on to the bottom of the roster, but his chances are slim. Devey saw some time on the Chiefs' active roster this season after starting nine games with the 49ers in 2015. Rotoworld.com 42 minutes ago

  • Report: Rob Kelley underwent knee surgery
Scout.com's Ben Standig reports Rob Kelley underwent surgery on his right knee following Washington's season-ending loss to the Giants.

Advice: Kelley suffered the injury in Week 16, played with a brace against the Giants, and had the knee operated on shortly after the loss. A source told Standig the surgery was "relatively minor" and "dealt with the meniscus." Kelley averaged just 3.33 yards per carry over the Redskins' final six games and showed next to no passing-game ability. He'll face competition for his starting job in 2017. • Amendola labeled questionable for Sunday
Danny Amendola (ankle) is questionable for Sunday's AFC Championship Game against the Steelers.

Advice: He was a limited participant at all three practices this week. Amendola played just 21-of-69 offensive snaps last week in his first game back from a high-ankle sprain. Martellus Bennett (knee) is questionable for Sunday's AFC Championship Game against the Steelers.

Advice: He was limited at practice, just as he is most weeks. Bennett tweaked his knee late in Saturday's win over Houston but should play his usual snaps in Sunday's AFC Championship. He had a very quiet game against Pittsburgh earlier this year, hauling in just one-of-two targets for five yards in Week 7. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports the Browns have reached a "stalemate" in extension talks with restricted free agent Isaiah Crowell.

Advice: RapSheet contends the sides were in "heavy talks" at one point. It doesn't make much sense for the Browns to commit long term to Crowell when they can retain him with a cheap restricted free agent tender. Crowell is a solid runner who averaged 4.8 yards per carry this past season, but his monetary value is minimal as a two-down grinder who already has over 500 NFL carries under his belt. He's yet to practice, and will be held out on Friday, as well. If Adams suits up against the Falcons, he'll almost certainly be on a snap count. Coach Mike McCarthy indicated Thursday that both Adams and Allison will likely suit up against the Falcons. Nelson's status isn't clear, but he's certainly giving himself a shot to be active for the biggest game of the season. If Nelson does play, he obviously won't be in for his usual complement of snaps. • Ladarius Green downgraded to 'DNP' Thursday
Ladarius Green (concussion, illness) was downgraded to "DNP" on Thursday.

Advice: It's the worst possible news after Green got in a "limited" session on Wednesday, though the flu is apparently going through the Steelers' locker room. Either way, with his latest head injury continuing to linger, Green is unlikely to suit up for the AFC Championship Game, leaving Jesse James as the Steelers' No. 1 "seam stretcher." The Steelers' offense has been operating at an extremely high level, but lacks viable weapons behind Le'Veon Bell and Antonio Brown.Daily Slant: If he's ultimately unable to suit up, Jesse James would start at tight end and be a viable option in GPPs given the lack of quality choices at the position. Still, our ownership projections don't display a large gap between James and Jared Cook - about 38% for Cook vs. 20% James - meaning there's not a huge advantage to be gained from a game theory perspective by pivoting to the lesser TE. Speaking Thursday, Packers coach Mike McCarthy said injured receivers Davante Adams (ankle), Jordy Nelson (ribs) and Geronimo Allison (hamstring) probably wouldn't play Sunday if it were the regular season.

Advice: Neither Adams nor Allison practiced on Thursday, and aren't expected to do so until Saturday's walk-through. McCarthy's comments indicated all three players will play, but none of them are anywhere close to 100 percent. • Davante Adams injury said to be severe
The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel describes Davante Adams' ankle injury as similar to the injury he tried playing through last year.

Advice: A high ankle sprain was at least partially to blame for Adams' disappointing sophomore campaign, from which he rebounded to rank second in the NFL in touchdown catches (12) this season behind only teammate Jordy Nelson (14). Per the Journal-Sentinel, Adams "is going to have to prove he can be an effective player in order to be cleared" for the NFC Championship Game. • Tomlin: Ladarius Green still in protocol
Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said Ladarius Green remains in the concussion protocol.

Advice: Green did not seem particularly close to playing in the Divisional Round, but Tomlin did say he has a chance. He will need to get in some practice reps early in the week to have any shot at returning. The Steelers could certainly use Green as they head to New England.Daily Slant: It's looking very much like we won't see Green again this postseason. His history with concussions was concerning before this season, and things haven't improved at all in his first year with the Steelers. Green was acting as the next-in-command to Antonio Brown among the receiving corps, and his presence would theoretically make it tougher for the Patriots to heavily attack Brown with double coverage. Jesse James would draw another start and while he's a good bet to play the large majority of the snaps, his volume is still concerning. The receiver suffered broken ribs in the Wild Card Round, an injury which often requires a full month before a player even thinks about returning. He rolled his left ankle after a 16-yard catch in the fourth quarter but returned after getting taped up. Adams matched up with Brandon Carr and played him to a draw. Aaron Rodgers completed 28-of-43 passes for 356 yards with two touchdowns and one interception while adding two carries for 16 yards Sunday in the Packers' Divisional Round win over the Cowboys.

Advice: What. A. Game. After a first round full of clunkers and an equally snooze-inducing first two games of the Divisional Round, Dallas and Green Bay finally brought the thunder on Sunday afternoon. Rodgers has been scorching hot for two months and he didn’t let up in Sunday’s stunning upset at Jerry World. He scored the game’s first touchdown on a picture-perfect 34-yard throw to Richard Rodgers and added to his tally with a three-yarder to Jared Cook off play-action early in the second half. Rodgers threw an uncharacteristic interception on a pass intended for Davante Adams, ending a streak of 318 consecutive passes without a pick. But Rodgers saved the best for last, threading the needle to Cook for a 36-yard completion in the closing seconds to set up the game-winning field goal. Advice: Green and Toussaint are both out with concussions while Mathews is nursing a foot injury. Mettenberger, Mihalik and Shabazz are all healthy scratches. Rotoworld.com Sunday, 4:03 pm

  • 'Legitimate hope' Jordy returns if GB advances
According to ESPN's Rob Demovsky, there is "legitimate hope" Jordy Nelson (broken ribs) will return next week if the Packers advance to the NFC Championship game.

Advice: Nelson was on the field before Sunday's game against Dallas and has his sights set on playing in the NFC Championship. Of course, that would require the Packers to beat a Dallas team they already lost to once this season. In Jordy's own words, it would also require Nelson "getting back to normal breathing," which sounds like a good goal. Davante Adams, Randall Cobb and Geronimo Allison will lead the receiving corps in Nelson's absence. Rotoworld.com Sunday, 10:48 am

  • Martellus Bennett not worried about leg injury
Martellus Bennett (leg) said he'll be fine for next week's AFC Championship Game.

Advice: Bennett suffered a leg injury late in Saturday's Divisional Round win over Houston but only missed a handful of snaps. "I've been fighting through [expletive] the whole year. I'm not going to stop now," said Bennett. "I'm getting too close to what my goal is in life." Bennett has been hampered by ankle and shoulder issues throughout the year but has yet to miss a game. He tied for third among tight ends with seven touchdowns during the regular season and will continue to be one of Tom Brady's top weapons inside the red zone. Rotoworld.com Sunday, 5:56 am

  • Martellus Bennett held to 4 yards Saturday
Martellus Bennett caught 1-of-4 targets for four yards in the Patriots' Divisional Round win over the Texans.

Advice: Bennett suffered a knee injury in the fourth quarter, but jogged off and eventually came back in. Bennett just looks slow on the field at this stage of the season and hasn’t given the Patriots much in the passing game lately beyond a few red-zone scores. Bennett appeared to beat Texans ILB Bernardrick McKinney for a deep third-quarter reception, but the pass bounced out of Bennett’s hands on the way down. He should see two to five targets in the AFC Championship Game. Rotoworld.com Saturday, 9:15 pm

  • Amendola gains 15 yards vs. Texans
Danny Amendola missed his two targets and rushed once for 15 yards in the Patriots' Divisional Round win over the Texans.

Advice: Amendola played only in four-receiver sets and wasn’t visible on special teams as Dion Lewis returned kickoffs and Julian Edelman continued to handle punts. Amendola’s highlight play was a fourth-quarter double reverse that gained 15. Amendola will remain game-day insurance behind the Patriots' featured receivers in the Conference Championship round. • Pats WR Hogan leaves game with thigh injury
Chris Hogan left Saturday night's Divisional Round game with a thigh injury.

Advice: He went to the locker room and was called questionable to return. Before exiting, Hogan lit up the Texans' secondary for 95 yards on four targets, whipping Texans S Corey Moore incessantly downfield. Rotoworld.com Saturday, 7:29 pm

  • James Starks (concussion) ruled out for Sunday
James Starks (concussion) is out for Sunday's Divisional Round game against the Cowboys.

Advice: Another week, another absence for Starks, who remains in the league's concussion protocol. He hasn't played in over a month. The Packers haven't been running the ball much, but Ty Montgomery is still the lead back with Christine Michael handling a change-of-pace role. Fullback Aaron Ripkowski has also been getting some short-yardage opportunities. Rotoworld.com Friday, 12:49 pm

  • Ladarius (concussion) doubtful for Sunday
Ladarius Green (concussion) is doubtful for Sunday's Divisional Round game against the Chiefs.

Advice: Green is headed for his fourth straight absence. Jesse James played 44-of-57 offensive snaps in last week's Wild Card win over Miami. We'd expect him to see a similar workload Sunday at KC. Green remains week to week. Rotoworld.com Friday, 10:36 am

  • Jordy Nelson ruled out for Divisional Round
Jordy Nelson (ribs) has been ruled out for Sunday night's Divisional Round game against the Cowboys.

Advice: As expected. Nelson hasn't practiced at all this week and is dealing with multiple rib fractures. He'll be reevaluated next week if the Packers advance to the NFC title game. Geronimo Allison will handle No. 3 receiver duties, and more will be asked of Davante Adams out wide and Randall Cobb inside. Daily Slant: Aaron Rodgers' production suffered last year without Nelson, he averaged 239.6 yards and 1.94 touchdowns per game. Across the 2014 and 2016 seasons, when Nelson played every week, Rodgers threw for 273.8 yards and 2.44 scores. However, Davante Adams improved tremendously this season; he caught 12 touchdowns this year after scoring just once 2015. This should help prevent a similar dip in Rodgers’ production, but it may be worth pivoting to a cheaper option like Matt Ryan, who has a healthy receiving corps and the best offense in the game. • Dolphins will be lukewarm on Bennett as FA?
The Miami Herald reports the Dolphins won't be "inclined to make a big offer" to Martellus Bennett in free agency.

Advice: Wrapping up his first season with the Pats, Bennett is headed to free agency. He turns 30 in March. Bennett is looking like the top tight end available in a market also expected to include Vernon Davis, Jermaine Gresham and Jared Cook. Rotoworld.com Thursday, 3:28 pm

  • Ladarius (concussion) a long shot for Sunday
Ladarius Green (concussion) remained sidelined at Thursday's practice.

Advice: He's still in the league's protocol. Per ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, it would be "shocking" were Green to play Sunday. He's going to miss his fourth straight game. Jesse James and Xavier Grimble will continue to pick up the scraps. Rotoworld.com Thursday, 12:38 pm

  • James Starks (concussion) still not practicing
James Starks (concussion) remained sidelined at Thursday's practice.

Advice: Starks doesn't seem to have made any noticeable progress since suffering a concussion last month. Extreme long-shot Jordy Nelson (ribs) has a better chance of playing than Starks this week. Green Bay's backfield work will again be dominated by Ty Montgomery and Christine Michael Sunday at Dallas. Martellus Bennett (ankle) has been removed from the injury report.

Danny Amendola (ankle) is practicing fully this week.

Advice: Amendola has been out since Week 13 with a high-ankle sprain. The Patriots' plan had always been to get him back for the Divisional Round. Amendola will fight with Malcolm Mitchell and Chris Hogan for targets behind Julian Edelman. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 1:32 pm
