  • Onwuasor could be an option next to Mosley
Undrafted rookie Patrick Onwuasor could be an option to replace retired ILB Zachary Orr in 2017.

Advice: Onwuasor only played 60 snaps on defense as a rookie, but he got the start in Week 17 with Orr sidelined. 2016 second-rounder Kamalei Correa will also get a shot, and Baltimore could decide to move Albert McClellan back inside if they want to replace Orr in-house. Looking at the candidates, it would be a surprise if the Ravens did not bring in some help this offseason. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 7:27 pm

  • 'Almost certain' Mario Williams will be cut
ESPN Dolphins reporter James Walker believes "it is almost certain" DE Mario Williams will be cut this offseason.

Advice: Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald has already reported Williams will be released, and Walker seems to agree it is a foregone conclusion. Signed to help replace Olivier Vernon, Williams recorded just 1.5 sacks in 13 games and was a healthy scratch in the season finale. Owed $8.5 million with a $10.5-million cap hit, there is almost no chance Williams is back in Miami. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 4:36 pm

  • Browns reel in Collins with 4-year, $50M deal
Browns signed LB Jamie Collins to a four-year, $50 million contract through 2020.

Advice: The deal had been in the works for days but finally became official on Monday. Collins' new contract calls for $26 million in guaranteed money. "Jamie was great to have in our building this season, and we look forward to him being a Cleveland Brown for a number of years to come," said Browns Executive VP of Football Operations Sashi Brown. Collins had been in the last year of his rookie contract, which prompted his mid-season trade from New England. He's now the fourth highest-paid linebacker on an annual basis behind Von Miller, Justin Houston and Clay Matthews. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 2:49 pm

  • Packers sign seven to reserve/futures deals
Packers signed C Jacob Flores, OLB Reggie Gilbert, WR Antwan Goodley, LB Derrick Mathews, G Lucas Patrick, DT Brian Price and S Jermaine Whitehead to reserve/futures contracts.

Advice: No big names here. All seven were on the Packers' practice squad this past season. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 2:46 pm

  • Micah Hyde open to re-signing with Packers
Impending free agent DB Micah Hyde said he'd welcome a return to Green Bay.

Advice: "I'd love to," said Hyde when asked if he's consider re-signing with the Packers this offseason. "This place is the best place for me, but at the end of the day, it has to be business decisions and it’s kind of out of my control." Hyde began the year at strong safety before settling in at slot corner. The 26-year-old matched a career-high with three interceptions this season. He's one of several Packers headed for free agency including Don Barclay, Jared Cook, Eddie Lacy, Christine Michael, Julius Peppers and Nick Perry. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 11:39 am

  • Butler allowed just two catches to Brown Sunday
When matched up with Antonio Brown in Sunday's AFC Championship Game, Malcolm Butler allowed just two catches for 24 yards on three pass attempts.

Advice: Brown carved up the Patriots against zone coverage (five catches for 53 yards) but had a much tougher time against Butler one-on-one. Butler earned his first All-Pro selection this year and has routinely held his own against No. 1 wideouts. There's a strong likelihood he'll be asked to shadow Julio Jones in Super Bowl LI. Jones shredded the Packers for nine catches, 180 yards and two touchdowns while playing through a toe injury in Sunday's NFC Championship Game. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 10:48 am

  • McCourty could be a candidate for release
Terry McCormick of TitanInsider considers Titans RCB Jason McCourty a candidate for release this offseason.

Advice: McCourty was passable at cornerback this season but is coming off a shoulder injury and is due a $7 million salary in 2017. Even if the Titans do decide to keep him, McCormick believes McCourty would "have to fight to retain his starting spot." McCourty has spent his entire eight-year career in Tennessee and might be amenable to a pay cut. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 10:16 am

  • Eagles move Taylor Hart to offensive tackle
The Eagles have moved DL Taylor Hart to offensive tackle.

Advice: When the Eagles were in a pinch for line help late in the season, they asked Hart to try his hand at the switch. He apparently showed enough in few practice sessions to head into the offseason program as an offensive lineman. Hart wasn't playing on defense, so maybe the move will help him find a role. • Dolphins SLB Koa Misi a potential cap cut
Dolphins SLB Koa Misi is viewed as a candidate for release this offseason.

Advice: Misi is entering the final year of his contract, and the Dolphins can save $4.2 million against the cap by cutting him. It seems like a no-brainer mover for Mike Tannenbaum and Co. after Misi missed all but three games due to a serious neck injury that was initially viewed as career-threatening. Misi is now expected to resume his career, but Miami is expected to re-do its linebacker group. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 9:26 am

  • Sam Shields still having occasional headaches
Packers CB Sam Shields (concussion) said he's still having occasional headaches.

Advice: Shields suffered his second concussion in a calendar year back in Week 1 and ended up missing the rest of the season. It's a major concern, but Shields said he still wants to play. "I’m thinking it’s not over. I’ve still got more in me," Shields said. "I just love the game, man, and I feel that I can get back out there and play." The Packers are expected to explore cutting Shields this offseason. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 7:26 am

  • Ravens viewing Kamalei Correa as ILB
The Ravens now view 2016 second-rounder Kamalei Correa as an inside linebacker.

Advice: Correa was drafted No. 42 overall in last year's draft as a 3-4 edge rusher, but Baltimore quickly moved him inside last spring. The coaching staff said he lacked instincts and needs to dissect plays faster. Correa ended up playing just 49 snaps as a rookie but could replace recently-retired Zach Orr as the starter next to C.J. Mosley. Correa will certainly face competition. • Franchise tag a possibility for Kawann Short
ESPN Panthers reporter David Newton considers the franchise tag a possibility for impending free agent DT Kawann Short.

Advice: There are a lot of directions the Panthers could go at defensive tackle. 2013 first-rounder Star Lotulelei is heading into the final year of his deal and will also be looking for a long-term contract. And 2016 first-rounder Vernon Butler may be ready to step up but could use another year of development. Letting Short walk isn't out of the realm of possibilities for GM Dave Gettleman in a deep draft class. Short is expected to ask for $17-19 million annually on a new contract. • James Harrison intends to play in 2017
Impending free agent OLB James Harrison intends to continue his playing career in 2017.

Advice: Harrison turns 39 in May but remains in peak physical condition. "I'm not done," Harrison said. "I feel physically fine." Harrison was nearly an every-down player the final month of the season and into the playoffs. In the regular season, he graded out as Pro Football Focus' No. 8 outside linebacker out of 59 qualifiers. The Steelers would likely want to bring him back. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 6:22 am

Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports confirms Steelers OLB James Harrison (shoulder, triceps, questionable) is expected to play in Sunday's AFC Championship Game against the Patriots.

Advice: Harrison sat out Thursday's practice but was back for a full session on Friday. Despite the questionable tag, there was never much doubt about his status for Sunday's AFC title game in Foxboro. Look for Harrison to put plenty of heat on Tom Brady. Rotoworld.com Sunday, 8:51 am

  • Jamie Collins expected to get $12M annually
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports free agent LB Jamie Collins is seeking $12 million annually.

Advice: The Browns have made "significant progress" in extension talks, with a contract between the sides expected to be finalized soon. Collins is looking for Luke Kuechly money (5 years, $61.8M). With the most cap space in the league, Cleveland shouldn’t have trouble getting a deal done. Rotoworld.com Saturday, 3:10 pm

Steelers OLB James Harrison (shoulder, triceps) is questionable for Sunday's AFC Championship Game.

  • Jaylon Smith will be 'big-time contributor?'
Cowboys EVP Stephen Jones said the team is "penciling in" LB Jaylon Smith (knee) "as a big-time contributor."

Advice: The Cowboys have been consistently optimistic about Smith's ability to return from the gruesome knee injury he suffered in the Fiesta Bowl last January. The injury resulted in nerve damage which has been slow to repair, but Smith said he is getting closer to normal. He might never be the top-ten pick he was before the injury, but it looks like Smith will at least be able to contribute. He is expected to get on the field in OTAs. Rotoworld.com Saturday, 6:38 am

  • Burnett a question mark for NFC Championship
Packers SS Morgan Burnett (thigh, questionable) is unsure if he'll play against the Falcons in Sunday's NFC Championship Game.

Advice: Burnett hurt his left thigh early in last week's win over Dallas. He's been unable to practice and is looking iffy at best. When asked about his status, Burnett said, "If I could tell you that, then I should probably play the lottery tonight." Kentrell Brice had his moments while filling in for Burnett last week, though he also dropped what should have been a sure interception on a deep pass to Terrance Williams. • Report: Browns, Jamie Collins nearing deal
CBS' Jason La Canfora reports the Browns have made "significant progress" in contract talks with impending free agent Jamie Collins, and are expected to finalize a deal by the weekend.

Advice: GM Sashi Brown is on record as hoping to keep Collins without the franchise tag. Collins' play was listless following his acquisition from the Patriots, but that's not surprising for a player going from the top of the league to the bottom. Still only 27, Collins is a versatile playmaker, and has been durable. He would be a nice building block for a team in the middle of a total reset. Rotoworld.com Thursday, 4:59 pm

  • Packers expected to release CB Sam Shields
ESPN Packers reporter Rob Demovsky fully expects the team to release CB Sam Shields this offseason.

Advice: Shields went down in Week 1 with a concussion that ultimately landed him on injured reserve. Cornerback is arguably the Packers' biggest need, even though they're one of the final four teams standing heading into championship weekend, but Shields is unlikely to be a solution to the problem. He has one year left on his contract, and Green Bay can save $9 million by releasing Shields. He's still just 29, but it's fair to wonder about his playing future after a serious concussion.
