Draped in Velvet Gets Victory Against Chube City, Puts Them in Fifth Place

Week 9

  • Draped in Velvet
  • 129.06 pts, 7-2
  • Weekly Grade
  • Chube City
  • 92.68 pts, 5-4
  • Weekly Grade

There's a lot of talk at the water cooler this morning about the performance of Draped in Velvet this past weekend. Rightfully so, as they amassed the highest point total this week and got past Chube City 129.06 to 92.68. Even Pat Benatar would have been proud of how these two teams hit each other with their best shots. Both sides met their expectations, but Draped in Velvet put up 32.5% more points than projected to earn the win. Free fallin' like Tom Petty, Chube City suffered a significant drop in scoring from last week's 129.38 to 101.48 win against Mr.Toast&Me. When assigning blame following this loss, Chube City can look in the mirror. They started a player with zero points (Derrick Henry). Chube City (5-4, 856.68 points) drops to fifth place while Draped in Velvet (7-2, 961.02 points) remains in first place.

  • Dez Bryant scored the fewest points on the team and scored below his projection for the fourth time this season with 1.90 points against a projected 10.71.
  • Even though Chube City lost, only 3 of their 9 starters scored less than their projected points.
  • Did not take Derrick Henry (0 points) out of the starting lineup this week.
  • With 5.60 points, Amari Cooper scored only 50.2% of his 11.15 projected point total.

What If

  • Draped in Velvet would be 7-2 if they played Chube City every week.
  • Draped in Velvet would have beaten every other team in the league this week.
  • Draped in Velvet would be 6-2 if they played the same schedule as Chube City.
  • If Draped in Velvet had played every team in the league each week, they would be 70-29.
  • Chube City would have lost to five other teams besides Draped in Velvet this week.
  • And they say procrastination doesn't pay off! Had they played each other last week, Draped in Velvet would have lost to Chube City 129.38 - 77.10.
  • Chube City would be 5-3 if they played the same schedule as Draped in Velvet.
  • If they played every team every week, Chube City would be 53-46.
