Red Storm manage to beat Brian McDougall in 166.38-163.88 battle
Despite falling short of expectations, Red Storm eked out a 166.38-163.88 win over Brian McDougall. It wasn't nearly as close as the final score indicates, as Red Storm led 166.38-114.68 heading into Monday night. Brian McDougall made it close behind Drew Brees (37.2 points) and Wil Lutz (12). Patrick Mahomes (302 Pass Yds, 2 Pass TDs, 54 Rush Yds) and Tom Brady (217 Pass Yds, 1 Pass TD) were the top scorers for Red Storm in the victory. Red Storm (2-0) will look to keep it rolling against Ultimate Badasses, while Brian McDougall (0-2) will attempt to right the ship against Quarter Chubb.
There were players with highlight-reel plays for both teams early Sunday, but it was Brian McDougall who emerged with the lead, 77.00-39.14. Tom Brady had a 23-yard touchdown pass and a 50-yard pass for Red Storm, while Amari Cooper had a 58-yard catch. Matthew Stafford made the highlight reel for Brian McDougall with a 24-yard touchdown pass.
Harrison Butker had a pair of 58-yard field goals for Red Storm, while Patrick Mahomes had a 54-yard touchdown pass, helping Red Storm to a 142.22-87.00 lead.
Julian Edelman had a 49-yard catch for Red Storm, helping the team to a 166.38-114.68 lead.
Edelman was one of five starters to overachieve for Red Storm this week. He scored 15.16 points (8 Rec, 179 Rec Yds) in a 35-30 lost to the Seahawks to nearly double his 8.03-point projection. Edelman ranks #40 among all fantasy players this season and will face the Raiders next week.
You know what, Red Storm, we do certainly admire the confidence. It's a bold move to roll out a starter with zero points (Rob Gronkowski), while still getting the W! All we ask is to please keep that flashy, show-off type of stuff to the early regular season. Do it in the postseason and we'll be finished.
Wow, talk about old-school ground n' pound. The starting backfield for Brian McDougall collectively registered four receptions on just five targets this past week. Tell those quarterbacks to check down a little more often in Week 3!
