• Sony Michel has 14 rushing yards vs. Packers
Sony Michel had three rushes for 13 yards in the Rams' Week 12 loss to the Packers, adding one catch for 11 yards.

Advice: Michel saw little playing time with Darrell Henderson getting 16 rushing attempts and catching a touchdown in his workhorse role. Michel is a reasonable bench stash who would likely see 15-20 touches per game if Henderson were to miss time during the regular season's final six weeks.  NBCSportsEDGE.com 10 minutes ago

  • Jeff Wilson touches ball three times for seven yds
Jeff Wilson rushed two times for five yards in the 49ers' Week 12 win over the Vikings, adding a two-yard reception.

Advice: With Elijah Mitchell (finger) back in the fold, Wilson got out-touched 32-3. Wilson's insurance status did grow a little more secure, however, as Trey Sermon was carted with a special teams ankle injury. JaMycal Hasty (ankle) could return for Week 13 vs. Seattle, but Wilson is firmly established as the No. 2 right now. It could be a bigger role next Sunday with Deebo Samuel nursing a groin issue.  NBCSportsEDGE.com Today, 5:28 pm

  • Alexander Mattison scores TD as Cook gets hurt
Alexander Mattison rushed seven times for 21 yards and a touchdown in the Vikings' Week 12 loss to the 49ers, adding two receptions for seven additional yards.

Advice: Mattison's six-yard score came in the third quarter after Dalvin Cook was gassed following a 24-yard reception. The bigger development came on the next drive, where Cook was carted with a shoulder injury. Cook was in tears, and coach Mike Zimmer hinted after the game that it was indeed a serious injury. At the very least, Cook seems guaranteed to miss next Sunday's smash spot against the Lions, setting Mattison up as a plug-and-play RB1. If Mattison has been returned to any waiver wires, empty what remains of your FAAB budget. Zimmer also said rookie return dynamo Kene Nwangwu could see a bigger workload in Cook's absence.  NBCSportsEDGE.com Today, 5:23 pm

  • Aaron Jones: 23 yards on 10 carries vs. Rams
Aaron Jones had ten rushes for 23 yards in the Packers' Week 12 win against the Rams.

Advice: Jones (MCL) was active for the first time since Week 10 and played well behind AJ Dillon, who saw 25 touches against LA. Jones still has a chance of reclaiming his role as the team's RB1-A since Dillon didn't exactly excel during his two games as Green Bay's workhorse (partly due to game script). Jones will get the Packers' Week 13 bye to rest his injured knee and return in Week 14 against the Bears. He should be a RB2, barring any setbacks with his MCL injury.  NBCSportsEDGE.com Today, 5:23 pm

  • Dillon out-touches Jones 25 to 10 in Week 12 win
AJ Dillon had 20 rushes for 69 yards in the Packers' Week 12 win against the Rams, adding five catches for 21 yards and a touchdown.

Advice: Aaron Jones, coming off an MCL injury that kept him sidelined for two weeks, was eased in upon his return against LA. Dillon dominated backfield snaps and targets on a decidedly inefficient day in which he was asked to salt the game away with a series of tough runs. Aaron Rodgers checked down to Dillon near the goal line for his lone touchdown against LA. Dillon was not the fantasy superstar many thought he would be during Jones' time away from the team, and the two backs will probably be close to a 50-50 split when the Packers return from bye against the Bears in Week 14.  NBCSportsEDGE.com Today, 5:18 pm

  • Trey Sermon carted with special teams ankle injury
49ers RB Trey Sermon was carted with a right ankle injury in San Francisco's Week 12 win over the Vikings.

Advice: Sermon was injured blocking on a second quarter punt return. Speaking after the game, coach Kyle Shanahan said it was the Niners' most concerning injury of the day. Unsurprisingly, Sermon had handled the ball zero times before going down. It's possible his season is through.  NBCSportsEDGE.com Today, 5:09 pm

  • Henderson sees 20 touches, scores TD in Week 12
Darrell Henderon had 16 rushes for 55 yards in the Rams' Week 12 loss to the Packers, adding four catches for 18 yards and a touchdown.

Advice: Henderson's 20 touches against Green Bay comes two weeks after he had five touches for 31 yards against the Niners before the Rams' bye. Henderson scored his touchdown in the first half on a tough catch, holding on to the ball despite a vicious hit from a Green Bay defender. Henderson has functioned as a workhorse when healthy and when game script allows. His pass game involvement in negative game script against the Packers is good news for his PPR value going forward. Henderson will be a top-10 option in Week 13 against Jacksonville.  NBCSportsEDGE.com Today, 4:58 pm

  • Mitchell generates 168 yards, TD on 32 touches
Elijah Mitchell rushed 27 times for 133 yards and a touchdown in the 49ers' Week 12 win over the Vikings, adding five catches for 35 additional yards.

Advice: So much for Mitchell's finger injury. Both his 32 touches and 168 yards from scrimmage were easily new season highs, while Mitchell has now bookended his Week 11 absence with 27-carry performances. This was even as Deebo Samuel kept vulturing him for scores and big plays on sweeps. Samuel came down with a third quarter groin injury in the process, making himself questionable for Week 13 vs. Seattle. Regardless of Samuel's status, Mitchell has become the new foundation of the 49ers' run-heavy offense, working his way into the RB1 mix with his staggering touch totals.  NBCSportsEDGE.com Today, 4:45 pm

  • Melvin Gordon handles 17 carries against Chargers
Melvin Gordon rushed 17 times for 83 yards in the Broncos' Week 12 win over the Chargers.

Advice: Despite losing a critical lost fumble last time out against the Eagles, Gordon kept his role as the Broncos' 1A to Javonte Williams' 1B status. Gordon held the carries edge 17-14, but Williams got the goal-line look in the second quarter with a nine-yard score, and had 54 yards on the ground with 3-57 as a receiver. Whatever the Broncos are doing in their backfield, it's working, so we don't expect it to change. Browns RB Kareem Hunt (calf) is active for Week 12 against the Ravens.

Advice: This was expected after Hunt was activated from IR on Saturday. The Browns could ease Hunt back after a four week absence, but injuries at receiver and a pivotal matchup with the Ravens could lead to a sizeable workload in his first game back. • Javonte Williams totals 111 yards, TD vs. Chargers
Javonte Williams rushed 14 times for 54 yards and one touchdown in the Broncos' Week 12 win over the Chargers, adding three catches for 57 yards on four targets.

Advice: Williams actually led the team in receiving with his 57 yards, doing most of that damage on a 42-yard catch-and-run up the right side. It was his best receiving output of the season to date. Williams' rushing score came from nine yards out in the second quarter to put the Broncos up 14-0. It was Williams' first rushing score since Week 3 and long overdue. One of the most punishing runners this season, Williams paid off for fantasy players who fired him up in this easy on-paper matchup. Melvin Gordon still out-carried Williams 17-14 and remains the narrow 1A to Williams' 1B status. Williams gets a road date with the Chiefs in Week 13 as a back-end RB2. • Dalvin Cook carted after third quarter pileup
Dalvin Cook was carted from Minnesota's Week 12 game against the 49ers with a shoulder injury and will not return.

Advice: In a bizarre scene, Cook got run into a pileup between one of his blockers and a defensive lineman, got hit high, lost a fumble, and went down in severe pain. Cook's right leg twisted awkwardly, but Cook immediately grabbed for his chest/pec area. He remained down for several minutes before eventually being loaded into a cart. He was in tears as he headed toward the locker room. Cook frequently goes down with what seem to be major injuries before quickly returning, but this did not feel like part of that pattern. We are highly concerned he is dealing with major injury. He has a history of shoulder issues. Cook had 103 yards on 16 touches before going down. Alexander Mattison would be a plug-and-play RB1 were Cook to miss Week 13 against the Lions.  NBCSportsEDGE.com Today, 3:50 pm

  • Damien Harris totals 52 yards, TD vs. Titans
Damien Harris rushed 11 times for 40 yards and a touchdown in the Patriots' Week 12 win over the Titans, adding a 12-yard reception.

Advice: Harris out-carried Rhamondre Stevenson just 11-9, but he was much more evenly involved throughout the contest. Five of Stevenson's carries came on one fourth quarter drive with the game pretty much already salted away. Harris out-carried Stevenson 2-0 inside the Titans' 10-yard line and notched New England's only rushing score, rumbling in from 14 yards out to put the Pats up 36-13 with 4:38 remaining. The Pats' backfield was a three-man ordeal this afternoon with Brandon Bolden mixing in for 4/54 as a pass catcher, but Harris maintained lead status. He will be a solid RB2 for a Week 13 date with a Bills run defense that had been taking on water before last week's shutdown of the banged-up Saints.  NBCSportsEDGE.com Today, 3:15 pm

Advice: Packers declared CB Kevin King, DB Vernon Scott, OL David Bakhtiari, WR Malik Taylor, and DL Jack Heflin inactive against LA. Jones could have a limited role upon his return to the Green Bay lineup following a Week 10 MCL injury. Jones can be safely penciled in for ten touches in a backfield that should be nominally led by AJ Dillon. Elijah Mitchell (finger) is active for Week 12 against the Vikings.

Advice: "Finger" isn't exactly a recommended injury for a running back, but Mitchell is good to go after missing only one game. We would plug him in as a high-end RB2 vs. a soft run defense. Mitchell will be backed up by Jeff Wilson. Inactive for the 49ers are RB JaMycal Hasty, OL Colton McKivitz, DL Maurice Hurst and DE Jordan Willis.  NBCSportsEDGE.com Today, 11:56 am

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports Elijah Mitchell (finger, questionable) is expected to play Week 12 against the Vikings.

Advice: This was expected after coach Kyle Shanahan said the team found a way to protect Mitchell's broken finger. There is some concern Mitchell's workload will be limited while playing through the injury, but he was clearly the No. 1 back over Jeff Wilson when both were active Week 10. Advice: Harris got in a full week of limited practices after popping up on the injury report with a new neck injury on Wednesday. He should continue splitting the backfield with Rhamondre Stevenson this week. Harris was out-carried by Stevenson 12-10 last week but both backs should be able to get there against the Titans. • 'Some optimism' that Aaron Jones (knee) will play
NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports "there's some optimism" that Aaron Jones (knee, questionable) will play in Week 12 against the Rams.

Advice: Pelissero noted that Jones will still have to go through pre-game warmups to see if he's able to play. That means we won't know his status until the first wave of games has already kicked off. Jones missed last week with the MCL sprain and it was previously reported that he could be held out one more week. The Packers get their bye in Week 13 so an additional game off would give him a long stretch of rest. However, Green Bay takes on the Rams in a game that could ultimately decide the fate of the NFC this week. If Jones is healthy, his team is going to want him back. He will likely give up a little extra work to AJ Dillon if he does suit up, making him a high-end RB2 in Week 12. NBCSportsEDGE.com Today, 5:24 am

Advice: Browns coach Kevin Stefanski has already said Hunt, who the team listed as questionable, will be active for Sunday night's game with the Ravens. Out since Week 7, Hunt's workload is hard to predict behind Nick Chubb, but injuries at receiver should create a few more targets and lead to a run-heavy game script. Advice: Harris showed up on Wednesday's injury report with a neck injury that appeared to be new. He didn't miss any practices, however, getting in limited sessions all week. He should be fine for Sunday, and could see a bigger role than last week with Rhamondre Stevenson questionable with a knee injury. Harris looks like a low-end RB2 if Stevenson goes. Packers' head coach Matt LaFleur noted that he wanted to see how Jones responded to practice, and it's possible we won't know Jones' Week 12 status until final inactives are announced. Advice: Jones practiced throughout the week but is unclear for Sunday since Green Bay's bye is right around the corner in Week 13. It's plausible the team holds him out to give him the extended break to be 100% before returning to the field, especially since Aaron Rodgers (toe) didn't practice at any point ahead of Sunday's NFC showdown against the Rams. Advice: Right tackle Jack Conklin is also expected to be activated from injured reserve and return to the field on Sunday. Cleveland will likely be short several receivers since Jarvis Landry, Donovan Peoples-Jones, and Anthony Schwartz are all dealing with injuries, but Hunt's return should pad some of the team's receiving production. It's unclear how he will play on Sunday if still dealing with this issue at week's end. Aaron Jones (knee) practiced again on Thursday.

Advice: It means Jones bounced back well from Wednesday's return, and is giving himself a real shot at suiting up against the Rams. The Athletic has speculated Jones will be a game-time call, which makes sense for a player making a rapid return from a knee ailment. • 'Sounds like' Aaron Jones will be game-time call
The Athletic's Matt Schneidman said it "sounds like" Aaron Jones (knee) will be a game-time decision in Week 12 against the Rams.

Advice: Packers head coach Matt LaFluer said Jones -- who injured his MCL in Week 10 and missed Week 11 -- made it through the team's Wednesday walk through -- a decent sign that he'll be active this week against LA. LaFleur said they've further evaluate Jones' injury come Sunday. AJ Dillon's emergence in the Green Bay backfield could put a firm cap on Jones' snaps and touches against the Rams if he's able to suit up. • Mitchell not handling ball with injured hand
The Athletic's Matt Barrows reports Elijah Mitchell (finger) took pitches and handoffs during Wednesday's practice but did not catch passes and only handled the ball with his healthy left hand.

Advice: Mitchell, after missing last week's game against the Jaguars, was listed as limited in Wednesday's session. Barrows said Mitchell -- who last week had surgery on a broken finger on his right hand -- "seemed to hold the ball exclusively in his left hand" during the practice. Mitchell's Week 12 availability against Minnesota is "up in the air," according to Barrows. The 49ers hyper-conservative offense is primed for another run-heavy game against a Vikings defense missing DT Dalvin Tomlinson (COVID-19), DT Danielle Hunter (torn pec, IR), and possibly Everson Griffin. The last time the Niners played the Vikings was in January 2020, when San Francisco rushed 47 times for 186 yards and two touchdowns. Advice: Jones was sidelined with an MCL sprain last week, paving the way for a big day from AJ Dillon. The second-year back turned 17 touches into 97 yards in Week 11. He'll return to playing a lesser role in the Green Bay offense if Jones is able to suit up this week. Jones was running routes with ease during the open portion of practice, pointing to a quick return from the star running back. Browns designated Kareem Hunt (calf/IR) to return.

Advice: This opens up Hunt's three-week window to resume practicing, though the Browns don't actually have to update his status on a daily basis. Kevin Stefanski on Monday said that he was "hopeful" that Hunt would play this week against Baltimore. Other than general writer reports on how Hunt is doing, the key date for that will be Saturday, which is when most players are reinstated to the active roster. Advice: Shanahan said he wasn't able to comment on his status for Sunday yet but did not that Mitchell didn't practice on Monday. Jeff Wilson drew the start with Mitchell and JaMycal Hasty sidelined last week. He saw 19 carries and a pair of targets, one of which could have resulted in a touchdown but Jimmy Garoppolo missed the mark on that throw. As has been the case more often this season, Ekeler was also the Chargers' primary goal-line back, and both of his rushing scores came from fewer than 10 yards away. Entrenched as Los Angeles' clear lead back, Ekeler is a high-end RB1 in Week 12 despite a tough matchup against the Broncos. NBCSportsEDGE.com Sunday, 8:44 pm

  • Dalvin Cook totals 115 yards, 1 TD in win over GB
Dalvin Cook rushed 22 times for 86 yards and one touchdown in the Vikings' Week 11 win over the Packers, adding three receptions for 29 yards on four targets.

Advice: Cook was quiet early in the game, with most of his fantasy production coming from a one yard TD. That score was a gift from Justin Jefferson being called down at the one. Jefferson appeared to score, but there wasn't a conclusive angle to overturn the call. Cook got going as the game went on, however. He began ripping off runs up the middle in the third quarter and had the final 12 yard rush that set the Vikings up for their game-winning field goal. He also had a nice 19 yard catch and run earlier in the drive. Cook will be a clear-cut RB1 against the 49ers in Week 12. NBCSportsEDGE.com Sunday, 2:15 pm

  • Jeff Wilson totals 58 yards, no TDs on 20 touches
Jeff Wilson rushed 19 times for 50 yards, hauling in 1-of-2 targets for eight receiving yards in San Francisco's Week 11 win over Jacksonville.

Advice: Jimmy Garoppolo also sailed a would-be two-yard touchdown pass over Wilson running wide open in the end zone at the end of their first drive. Although the box score will show a backfield divide between Trey Sermon (10/32) and Wilson, note that six of the former's carries occurred once the Niners took a 27-3 lead; Deebo Samuel did mix in as a true running back with eight carries throughout. Wilson was not explosive, but that was to be expected against a Jaguars front-seven permitting 3.7 yards per carry to opposing running backs prior to Sunday. He will remain a touch-based RB2 if Elijah Mitchell (broken finger) remains sidelined against the Vikings in Week 12. NBCSportsEDGE.com Sunday, 12:54 pm

  • Elijah Mitchell, JaMycal Hasty inactive Sunday
49ers declared RB Elijah Mitchell, RB JaMycal Hasty, DL Maurice Hurst, and OL Colton McKivitz inactive for Week 11 against the Jaguars.

Advice: Jeff Wilson inevitably gets the start as a touch-based RB1 with Trey Sermon backing him up (and not playing barring injury). It's also possible Deebo Samuel receives snaps at running back, gifting him a higher floor as an WR1 than usual. NBCSportsEDGE.com Sunday, 8:44 am

  • Elijah Mitchell (finger) doubtful against Jaguars
Elijah Mitchell (finger) is doubtful for Week 11 against the Jaguars.

Advice: Coach Kyle Shanahan said Mitchell jammed his finger in the second quarter against Los Angeles and "didn’t say anything to anyone at all." Jeff Wilson will step in as an early-down RB2 workhorse on Sunday, ceding all third-down and receiving reps to FB Kyle Juszczyk. Trey Sermon will continue to watch both play football from the bench. • Damien Harris adds 56 rush yards, is snaps leader
Damien Harris rushed 10 times for 56 yards in New England's Week 11 win over the Falcons.

Advice: Harris narrowly out-snapped Rhamondre Stevenson as the two roughly alternated drives with Harris coming on late in some of Stevenson's drives. Harris had a couple of long runs, but the Patriots only generated one red zone rush for him, and it was at the 20. He'll be on the FLEX line as a good running attack is almost evenly divided as the Patriots take on Tennessee in Week 12.  NBCSportsEDGE.com Thursday, 9:00 pm

  • Mike Davis sputters; 1 rush yard without Patterson
Mike Davis rushed three times for one yard in the Falcons Week 11 loss to New England, adding 20 yards on three receptions.

Advice: Davis was stuck in neutral and a couple of big Quadree Ollison runs saw Atlanta shift to the hot hand. Any hand is hotter than Davis has played thus far this year, so it was an unsurprising benching. He'll be a hard-to-trust FLEX against the Jaguars in Week 12 if he is still the starter-in-name.  NBCSportsEDGE.com Thursday, 8:23 pm

  • Trey Sermon remains behind Jeff Wilson per coach
Speaking Wednesday, 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan said that Trey Sermon remains behind Elijah Mitchell and Jeff Wilson

Advice: “Trey had an opportunity (earlier this season) when guys got hurt and I thought he got better in each game with that. But he didn’t do enough for us to put him ahead of Elijah or Jeff," Shanahan told reporters while noting that he'd been asked about Sermon many times. If you were holding out hope for a Sermon revival based on Mitchell's broken finger, this is a pretty strong signpost against that happening in the near future. Sermon is only a must-roster in dynasty leagues right now.  NBCSportsEDGE.com Thursday, 10:39 am
