  • Aaron Rodgers (hamstring) limited in practice
Aaron Rodgers (hamstring) was limited in Wednesday's practice.

Andrew Luck (shoulder) was limited at Wednesday's practice.

Advice: Luck is listed with a shoulder injury every week but the only game he missed this year was because of a concussion. Coming off a four-touchdown game against the Jets on Monday night, Luck will be a solid QB1 against Houston in Week 14. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 3:01 pm

  • Report: Browns planning to start RG3 vs. CIN
ESPN's Dan Graziano reports the Browns plan to start Robert Griffin III against the Bengals.

Advice: Coming out of the bye week, coach Hue Jackson refused to name a starter after Wednesday's practice, a practice in which all four of RGIII, Josh McCown, Cody Kessler, and Kevin Hogan took snaps. Signs have pointed to Griffin getting the start for the past couple weeks. He does very little to move the needle from a fantasy standpoint, but Terrelle Pryor's floor remains safe. Trevor Siemian (foot) returned to a limited practice Wednesday.

Advice: Paxton Lynch was an utter disaster once again in last week's spot start against the Jaguars. He and Siemian split the reps Wednesday, putting Siemian on track to return this week against the Titans. Free agent QBs T.J. Yates and Sean Renfree worked out for the Broncos on Tuesday.

Advice: The Broncos have expressed optimism on Trevor Siemian's (foot) Week 14 status, but this indicates a level of concern. • Ryan Fitzpatrick has been benched
    Ryan Fitzpatrick has been benched.

Advice: Bryce Petty will start the final four games of the season after coming on in relief of "FitzMagic" on Monday evening. It appears second-rounder Christian Hackenberg will be the next man up if Petty gets injured. Fitzpatrick was legitimately good in 2015, but reverted to his old ways this season, playing an absurd brand of streetball that resulted in far too many turnovers. Fitz thinks he's Brett Favre, but he's really a poor man's Chad Pennington. Now 34, Fitz should be a useful backup/spot starter for someone in 2017, but it's extremely unlikely he will enter Week 1 with a starting job. Rotoworld.com Tuesday, 1:52 pm

  • Jets: No plans to play Christian Hackenberg
The Jets have no plans to play No. 51 overall pick Christian Hackenberg down the stretch.

Advice: The second-rounder will only see playing time if Bryce Petty gets hurt. A team with quarterback problems would normally try to contrive any possible reason to get a second-rounder on the field, but Hackenberg isn't close to ready. It's quite possible he never will be. Hackenberg was a bad player in college, and an immense stretch as a day-two pick. Rotoworld.com Tuesday, 1:38 pm

  • 49ers sticking with Kaepernick for Week 14
Colin Kaepernick will be the 49ers' Week 14 starter at quarterback.

Advice: The 49ers benched Kaepernick in the midst of a ludicrously bad Week 13 performance in the snow, but are wisely giving him another shot against the Jets. Kap's play had been on an upward trajectory before last week's catastrophic setback, and though it can sound like damning with faint praise, Kap has been a clear improvement on Blaine Gabbert. Regardless, the fantasy calculus has changed. Kap should now be considered at risk of in-game benchings, rendering him a risk/reward QB2 instead of the low-end QB1 he had been performing as. • Bowles says he always planned to start Petty
Jets coach Todd Bowles said he always planned to start Bryce Petty over the final month of the season.

Advice: "We could have won 45-0, (Bryce) was going to start the last four games," Bowles said after Monday night's blowout loss. "That's the slot we had penciled for him, that's a good time to take a look at him." It is unclear why Petty would be good enough for the final four games and not the final six, but at least the correct decision has finally been made. Even though it is pretty clear Petty is not the long-term answer, the Jets at least need to see it on the field before this offseason. Rotoworld.com Tuesday, 6:22 am

  • Bowles says Petty will start final four games
Coach Todd Bowles said Bryce Petty will start the Jets' final four games.

Advice: Owners of Ryan Fitzpatrick can release him. Petty will get starts at the 49ers, vs. the Dolphins, at the Patriots, and vs. the Bills to close out the year. At 3-9, it makes sense for the Jets to get a look at Petty to see if they have anything here. By the looks of his first few NFL appearances, chances are slim. He has a big arm, but struggles with accuracy. Petty's insertion to the lineup is a big downgrade to Brandon Marshall, but might give Robby Anderson a slight boost. Rotoworld.com Monday, 9:01 pm

  • Jets get embarrassed 41-10 by Colts on MNF
In relief of a benched Ryan Fitzpatrick, Bryce Petty completed just 11-of-25 passes for 135 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions in the Jets' 41-10, Week 13 loss to the Colts on Monday night.

Advice: Fitzpatrick was benched after completing 5-of-12 passes for 81 yards and an interception in the first half. Petty took over on the first possession of the third quarter with the Jets getting railroaded 31-3. Petty's numbers look worse than they could have been, as he was hurt badly by drops, but he still wasn't very good. His touchdown was a 40-yarder to Robby Anderson where the defensive back fell down on the play. And one of Petty's interceptions was a deep-ball heave down the middle. He was taking shots with the Jets getting stomped, which was nice to see. At 3-9, the Jets will probably give the rest of the starts to Petty. They travel to San Francisco next Sunday. • Luck picks apart Jets w/ 4 TDs in MNF blowout
Andrew Luck completed 22-of-28 passes for 278 yards and four touchdowns in the Colts' Week 13 win over the Jets on Monday night.

Advice: With the Colts stomping the Jets 41-10 with about 11 minutes left in the fourth quarter, coach Chuck Pagano called off the dogs and replaced Luck with Scott Tolzien. It was quite the return from a Week 11 concussion for Luck after he missed the Thanksgiving night game. Luck found Dwayne Allen for wide-open seven- and 21-yard touchdown passes on the Colts' first two possessions. The two later hooked up for a third score from 23 yards out before halftime. That time, the Jets actually covered Allen, but he made a great catch. Luck's fourth score was a three-yarder to Donte Moncrief to make it 30-3. His favorite receiver on the night, T.Y. Hilton, racked nine catches and 146 yards on 10 targets, doing whatever he wanted against soft coverage. The Colts will host the Texans in Week 14 where Luck will be an elite QB1 play. • Fitzpatrick benched after 81 yds, INT at half
Ryan Fitzpatrick was benched after completing 5-of-12 passes for 81 yards, no touchdowns, and one interception in the first half Week 13 against the Colts.

Advice: Dreadful. The Jets were getting blasted 24-3 at halftime, and the Colts scored another touchdown on the first possession of the third quarter to make it 31-3 before Bryce Petty came into the game to a round of applause. The Jets went three-and-out on their first two possessions of the game, and Fitzpatrick threw a terrible pick into double-coverage just before halftime. Well on their way to 3-9, the Jets may as well give Petty the reins the remainder of the year. Rotoworld.com Monday, 7:22 pm

Browns coach Hue Jackson said Monday that it's "too soon" to say whether Robert Griffin III will start in Week 14 against the Bengals.

Advice: Although Jackson was noncommittal in this presser, seemingly all of the Browns' beat writers believe RG3 will be under center versus Cincinnati. • Rex offers cryptic comments on Tyrod Taylor
Speaking about Tyrod Taylor's play following Sunday's loss, Bills coach Rex Ryan said "look, let's just let this play out."

Advice: "We feel pretty comfortable with Tyrod," Ryan said. "There's a lot of factors that go into everything." Taylor had a strong first quarter Sunday, but then melted down as the Bills blew a big lead. Taylor's play has really started to ebb in recent weeks after a more consistent middle stretch of the season. Writing about the performance on Monday, respected Bills beat writer Joe Buscaglia said "if it’s me, as of right now, I would be moving on from Taylor." • 'Real chance' Griffin III starts this week
ESPN's Adam Schefter reports there's a "real chance" Robert Griffin III (shoulder, injured reserve) is the Browns' Week 14 starter.

Advice: Griffin has yet to even be formally activated off injured reserve, but most signs are pointing toward him starting against the Bengals. The lost-year Browns might as well take a four-game look — if Griffin can stay healthy that long — headed into the offseason. We'd consider the odds heavily stacked against Griffin being the team's 2017 quarterback. Rotoworld.com Monday, 11:06 am

  • 'All signs point' to RG3 starting this week?
ESPN's Pat McManamon wrote "all signs point" to Robert Griffin III getting the start this week.

Advice: Hue Jackson has yet to name a starter, and McManamon's prediction comes with the important caveat of "provided he makes it through practice and looks like he has shaken off three months of rust." Still, it makes sense for the Browns to see what Griffin can do, especially considering they averaged fewer than 10 points in their last four games. Even if Griffin gets the nod, the offense around him is too poor and the chance of an in-game injury is too high to trust him in the first-round of the playoffs. Rotoworld.com Monday, 8:27 am

Advice: Renck reports Siemian's foot "has improved" since last week. He will be evaluated on Monday. The Broncos got the win against Jacksonville, but they won despite Paxton Lynch. • Rivers melts down in fourth quarter (again)
Philip Rivers completed 15-of-26 passes for 225 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions in the Chargers' Week 13 loss to Tampa Bay.

Advice: Uncharacteristically, he added 18 yards on three scrambles. Rivers connected with Dontrelle Inman (35 yards) and Tyrell Williams (40) on long touchdown passes, and should've had an 80-yard scoring bomb only for Travis Benjamin to drop it. Rivers also had his patented fourth-quarter meltdown, throwing two picks in the final frame including a pick six secured by Lavonte David. • Tyrod Taylor turns it over in loss to Raiders
Tyrod Taylor completed 18-of-35 passes for 191 yards, no touchdowns, and one interception in the Bills' Week 13 loss to the Raiders.

Advice: He added 30 yards rushing and one touchdown on three attempts. The touchdown run was a great read-option keeper where Khalil Mack crashed hard and didn't hold the edge, letting Taylor walk in easily. Mack later got his revenge, though, getting to Taylor to tip a pass, causing his interception deep in Buffalo territory, and then recording a strip-sack and recovering the fumble. Buffalo held a 24-9 lead at one point, but allowed 29 unanswered points to fall to 6-6. They need wins from here on out. Taylor will be a borderline QB1 next week against the Steelers. Advice: He rushed twice for 11 yards. The good news is Lynch avoided turnovers and took only two sacks after taking six in his Week 5 spot start against the Falcons. The bad news is Lynch struggled mightily for the second straight start and is a clear downgrade from Trevor Siemian, who was inactive Sunday with a foot sprain. Colin Kaepernick was benched in the fourth quarter of Sunday's loss to Chicago.

Advice: Kaepernick had just five attempts before getting taken out for Blaine Gabbert. He didn't complete his only pass until late in the second quarter. The 49ers didn't show any confidence in Kaepernick with bad conditions at Soldier Field. It's a huge step back after Kaepernick had a 5:1 TD/INT ratio over his last two games. • Aaron Rodgers efficient in easy Week 13 win
Aaron Rodgers completed 20-of-30 passes for 209 yards and two touchdowns in the Packers' Week 13 win over the Texans.

Advice: With the Texans doing nothing outside of a third-quarter drive and a garbage-time touchdown, the Packers were able to run a conservative offense in the snow. That dink-and-dunk approach failed to take advantage of good field position early in the game, but Rodgers capped a short touchdown drive with a nine-yard pass to Randall Cobb in the second quarter. Despite a lingering hamstring injury, Rodgers was able to escape the pocket left before finding Cobb streaking through the end zone. After the Texans tied the game in the third, Rodgers led a 98-yard drive he finished with a 32-yard strike to a wide-open Jordy Nelson. Green Bay added an insurance touchdown on another long drive late. Rodgers did not look completely healthy in this game, but he was able to escape pressure and pick up some chunk gains with his legs. • Goff horrific in Rams Week 13 loss to Pats
Jared Goff completed 14-of-32 passes for 161 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions in the Rams' Week 13 loss to the Patriots.

Advice: He took four sacks and didn't lead the Rams to a touchdown drive until deep garbage time, capped by a short score to Kenny Britt. Goff's pocket presence reminded of Blaine Gabbert in Foxboro, and the Rams' assertion that Goff "wasn't ready" a month ago has held strong since he took the reins from Case Keenum. • Dalton lights up Eagles for 332 yards, 2 TDs
Andy Dalton completed 23-of-31 passes for 332 yards and two touchdowns in the Bengals' 32-14, Week 13 win over the Eagles.

Advice: It was arguably Dalton's best passing performance of the season, as his 130.0 rating was a new season-best. His two touchdowns went to Brandon LaFell in the back of the end zone from eight yards out, and then Dalton threw a perfectly-lofted 13-yard score to Tyler Eifert for his second score. It was reported Savage had an infection earlier Sunday morning, but the location and severity were not known. This report raises questions about Savage's availability moving forward. Kaepernick is set to make $14.5 million in base salary if he sticks around in San Francisco next season, and even after a strong finish, it is unlikely he would get much more than the $7.5 million per year Robert Griffin III landed from the Browns on the open market. Lynch struggled against a weaker pass defense at home against Atlanta in Week 5, managing 223 yards on 35 attempts with one touchdown and one pick. Advice: "There's a lot of talent there," Gailey claimed. "The sky's the limit. Still don't know." If the Jets truly believed the sky was the limit for the No. 51 overall pick, they would have already thrown him out there. Ryan Fitzpatrick is a failed state, Geno Smith is injured and Bryce Petty is not a legit NFLer. Hack seems on his way to joining Petty, which of course would surprise no one who watched his college film. The Jets have been straight up giving away draft picks the past few years. • Luck (concussion) practicing again Thursday
Andrew Luck (concussion) participated in Thursday's practice.

Advice: It is not clear if he has passed through the concussion protocol yet, but there is not any concern about his status for this week. He will be a high-end QB1 Monday night against the Jets. Rotoworld.com Thursday, 9:02 am

  • Kubiak: Siemian could play without practicing
Broncos coach Gary Kubiak said Trevor Siemian (foot) "could play without practicing."

Advice: "Trevor is very bright. He's on top of what we're doing," Kubiak said. "That's not an issue at all." The Broncos would obviously like Siemian to practice this week, but his status is completely up in the air after he was spotted in a walking boot Wednesday. Paxton Lynch will get the nod if Siemian cannot play. Rotoworld.com Thursday, 6:20 am

  • Paxton Lynch says he is 'more comfortable'
Paxton Lynch said he will be "more comfortable" than he was in his first NFL start if he is forced to fill in for Trevor Siemian (foot) this week.

Advice: Siemian is dealing with a left foot sprain and was in a boot Wednesday. It is possible he makes it back this week, but the Broncos will certainly get Lynch ready to go. Lynch completed 23-of-35 passes for 223 yards, one touchdown, and one interception in Denver's Week 5 loss to the Falcons. Rotoworld.com Thursday, 6:17 am

  • Luck (concussion) upgraded to full practice
Andrew Luck (concussion) was a full participant at Wednesday's practice.

Advice: It was reported earlier that Luck was still in the league's concussion protocol, but he should be ready well ahead of Monday night's game against the Jets. It looks like he'll have his best receiver too as T.Y. Hilton (back) returned to a limited session on Wednesday. Luck will be an obvious QB1 against the Jets' struggling secondary. • Siemian dealing with a sprained left foot
Trevor Siemian's injury is a left foot sprain.

Advice: He sat out Wednesday's practice and isn't sure of his status for Sunday's game against Jacksonville. "Today was better than yesterday," said Siemian. "We will see going forward." On the plus side, at least Siemian said his shoulder, which bothered him earlier this year, is no longer an issue. He'll be a lower-end QB2 if he suits up this week. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 1:44 pm

  • Rodgers a limited participant at practice
Aaron Rodgers (hamstring) was limited at Wednesday's practice.

Advice: The Packers didn't actually practice coming off their Monday night win over the Eagles, so it's just an estimate. Either way, it looks like Rodgers is on track to suit up Sunday against Houston. Rodgers will be an elite QB1 in that matchup. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 1:34 pm

  • Siemian (foot sprain) considered day to day
Trevor Siemian (foot) is in a walking boot and is considered day to day.

Advice: Siemian missed practice Wednesday, but it doesn't sound like he's yet in danger of missing Week 13 against the Jaguars. Coach Gary Kubiak said Siemian was injured on the first series of the overtime loss to the Chiefs on Sunday night. If he's unable to go Sunday, rookie Paxton Lynch would start. • Andrew Luck remains in concussion protocol
Andrew Luck remains in the league's concussion protocol.

Advice: Luck has to get in a full practice and be cleared by an independent neurologist as the final stages of the protocol. That is expected to happen either Wednesday or Thursday. Luck is fully expected to start Monday against the Jets. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 8:46 am

  • Mike McCarthy passes on Aaron Rodgers update
Packers coach Mike McCarthy declined to update Aaron Rodgers' (hamstring) status at Tuesday's press conference.

Advice: McCarthy did say the issue wasn't as serious as Rodgers' 2014 calf injury, and that Clay Matthews' shoulder ailment is of greater concern. Rodgers will miss some practice time this week, but he should be out there against the Texans. Rotoworld.com Tuesday, 3:48 pm

  • Robert Griffin III to get an extended look?
NFL Network's Mike Garofolo expects Robert Griffin III to keep the starting job for the rest of the season if he's named Week 14 starter.

Advice: The Browns are on bye this week, giving them an extended period to plot the final quarter of their lost campaign. Griffin attempted 26 passes as a Brown before getting injured. He'd have to do something pretty dramatic in Weeks 14-17 to make himself part of the Browns' post-2016 plans. Rotoworld.com Tuesday, 3:00 pm

  • RG3 (shoulder, I.R.) cleared for full contact
ESPN's Ed Werder reports Robert Griffin III (shoulder, I.R.) has been cleared for full contact.

Advice: As expected. The Browns are off this week but return against the Bengals in Week 14. Cody Kessler (concussion) has also resumed practicing and will compete with Griffin III and Josh McCown for the starting job. Coach Hue Jackson will go with whoever gives Cleveland the best chance to finally win a game, though it makes sense for the Browns to at least see what they have in Griffin III as they near the end of a lost season. • Robert Griffin III could be cleared this week
Browns coach Hue Jackson said Robert Griffin III (shoulder, injured reserve) could be cleared for contact this week.

Advice: Griffin has one more test to pass, and it will be conducted this week. If Griffin is able to get cleared, it would not be surprising if he starts Week 14 against the Bengals, but Jackson thinks it is too early to make that decision. "He has not played football now in a while," Jackson said. "I am sure he has to get the rust off a little bit, but hopefully, we will see where he is, and if they clear him for contact, then we will know more as we move forward." Averaging less than 10 points a game over the last month, the Browns might as well see what Griffin can do. Rotoworld.com Tuesday, 6:30 am

  • Aaron Rodgers 'good to go' after injury scare
Aaron Rodgers said he hurt his hamstring in the second half Monday night against the Eagles, but he will be "good to go" Week 13 against the Texans.

Advice: Rodgers needed treatment on the sidelines during the game, but the injury never appeared to be a real concern. After surgically deconstructing what had been a solid Eagles defense on the road Monday night, Rodgers will get a Texans squad which was just shredded by Philip Rivers on Sunday. He will be a high-end QB1 in that matchup. Rotoworld.com Tuesday, 6:08 am

  • Rodgers surgical in win with 313 yards, 2 TDs
Aaron Rodgers completed 30-of-39 passes for 313 yards and two touchdowns in the Packers' 27-13, Week 12 win over the Eagles on Monday night.

Advice: This might have been his best performance of the season. The 76.9 percent completion rate is a new single-game high, while the 8.0 YPA is his third-best mark of the year. Rodgers was near-flawless in this one, threading the needle with a beautiful 20-yard touchdown pass to Davante Adams on his second score after drilling Adams on a 12-yard slant pattern touchdown on the first. He made things happen with his legs, as usual, escaping the very minimal pressure he faced Monday, and finding open receivers downfield. Rodgers appeared to injure his left hamstring at one point and had to go into a mysterious black tent on the sideline to get a pad put beneath his pants. Trainers also appeared to be looking at his left knee. Rodgers didn't miss any action and will get a home date with the Texans in Week 13. Rotoworld.com Monday, 8:38 pm

  • Bowles confirms Fitzpatrick to start vs Colts
Coach Todd Bowles confirmed Monday that Ryan Fitzpatrick will remain the Jets' starting quarterback for Week 13 against the Colts.

Advice: Bowles went as far as to call it a "no-brainer" and say there was "no debate" about Fitzpatrick retaining his starting role. Although he committed a sack-fumble to end Sunday's game, Fitzpatrick turned in one of his best performances of the season against the Patriots, throwing for 269 yards and two touchdowns. He'll be a two-quarterback-league option Monday night against Indy. Rotoworld.com Monday, 12:46 pm

  • Pagano expects Andrew Luck to play Monday
Colts coach Chuck Pagano expects Andrew Luck (concussion) to play Monday night against the Jets.

Advice: Luck said after practice he feels "100 percent" and "ready to go." Luck still has at least one hurdle to jump in the concussion protocol, but there is little doubt he will be ready for Monday night. He will be a high-end QB1 against the Jets. Rotoworld.com Monday, 8:39 am

  • Bowles declines to name starting quarterback
Jets coach Todd Bowles declined to name a starting quarterback following the team's Week 12 loss to the Patriots.

Advice: "I'll evaluate everything this week going forward," Bowles said. "I'm not going to make a decision today, or a rash decision one way or another." Ryan Fitzpatrick had one of his best games of the season against the Patriots, but he lost a costly fumble late in the close game. Fitzpatrick clearly gives the Jets their best chance to win, but that does not matter much with the playoffs out of reach. New York needs to see what they have in Bryce Petty, and now is as good a time as any. If Fitzpatrick does keep the starting job, he will be an interesting streaming option against the Colts.
