  • GurleyMan
  • 114.32 pts, 9-2

  • Jordy LaForge
  • 113.2 pts, 5-6
  • Weekly Grade

Maybe GurleyMan will be able to figure out what the phrase "by the skin of my teeth" means after this narrow victory, edging Jordy LaForge 114.32 to 113.20 to remain undefeated in head-to-head matchups. This week, David Johnson was the winning factor, putting up 28.00 points. It was about the same output as the 30.16 points Carson Palmer got the last time these teams played. GurleyMan won 105.36 to 64.92 in Week 2, and now has a 20.78-point average margin of victory over Jordy LaForge.

Smooth Moves by GurleyMan

  • A higher score than your opponent is a guaranteed way to win each week. Thank the Toyota Hall of Fame for that valuable insight.
  • Dez Bryant had 20.00 points, the highest WR score in the league this week.
  • With 28.00 points, David Johnson ranked seventh in the league in scoring.
  • Made a good move in sitting Mark Ingram this week. He brought in 7.50 points, the fewest of any RB on the team.
  • Do you put a LB or DB on him? You might have to put both on him if this continues. Travis Kelce scored 10.30 points to rank third among TEs in the league this week.

Toyota Roster Tune-up

  • It's okay to regret not taking a sick day to study the Toyota Hall of Fame's articles. But it's not okay to do it again.
  • All that glitters is not gold. Picked up Dustin Hopkins, who scored 6.00 points against his projected 8.20.
  • Curiosity killed the cat. It also killed Jordy LaForge this week. They acquired and started Cameron Meredith, who then finished last on the team in scoring with 4.90 points.
  • This is how people lose everything in casinos. Jordy LaForge thought their luck would change and went back to the well with the New England Patriots Defense. However, they scored 6.00 points against a projected 9.60 and has now underachieved in five straight games.
  • Of the 9 starters on Jordy LaForge, 6 underperformed versus their projections.

What If

  • If GurleyMan played Jordy LaForge every week, they would be 7-4 this season.
  • Besides Jordy LaForge, GurleyMan would have defeated seven other teams this week.
  • Were they resting their players for this week? GurleyMan would have defeated Jordy LaForge 124.14 - 105.52 had they played each other last week.
  • If they played the same schedule as Jordy LaForge, GurleyMan would be 6-3.
  • If GurleyMan had played every team in the league each week, they would be 65-34.
  • Jordy LaForge would have lost to just one other team besides GurleyMan this week.
  • Jordy LaForge would be 5-4 if they played the same schedule as GurleyMan.
  • Jordy LaForge would be 44-55 if they played every team every week.

Game Notes

  • Looks like teams bring their A game when they see them on the schedule. Of the losses Jordy LaForge has had, three were against opponents who topped their season scoring average that week.
  • At 1.12 points, the margin of victory was the smallest in the league this season.
  • GurleyMan has won four straight games, the longest current winning streak in the league.
  • Jordy LaForge scored 113.20 points and lost. It is the highest losing score in the league this season.
  • Jordy LaForge topped their point expectations for the fourth week in a row. They have now overperformed versus projections for the fifth time.
  • Jordy LaForge saw their three-game win streak come to an end.
  • Not going to name names, but some people here aren't pulling their weight. Forget it, Jordan Matthews needs to step it up! He scored 5.90 points against a projected 9.82 in the win, and has now scored below his projection in three straight games.
  • The Arizona Cardinals Defense did little to help GurleyMan, underperforming versus projections for the fourth straight game with 6.00 points against a projected 9.05.

In just his fourth NFL start, Rawls plowed his way to 209 rushing yards and a rushing score. He also flashed some versatility with 46 receiving yards and a TD catch. His fantasy total would wind up being the second-best by a running back during the 2015 season, trailing only Arizona rookie David Johnson’s Week 15 effort.
