Coinciding with Some Early-Round Reaches, ShaRodaSammy Rex Needs Roster Improvements

Draft Summary

ShaRodaSammy Rex isn't the best team in the league, but they aren't the worst, and there is something to be said for that. After selecting second overall, they are projected to finish in eighth in The River DFW League at 6-8-0 (1,451 points). They went after guys who can tote the rock with their early picks, using three of their first five picks to scoop up RBs LeSean McCoy (third round), Latavius Murray (fourth round), and DeMarco Murray (fifth round). They also landed the worst QB tandem in the league, as they added Brock Osweiler and Dak Prescott to their squad.

We're not mad. We're just disappointed. Go nominate yourself for the Toyota Hall Of Fame to make it up to us.

ShaRodaSammy Rex should do pretty much anything other than watch football during Week 10. They have five players and the most projected fantasy points on bye that week. Taking a look at the entire season from start to finish, they have an easier-than-average slate. ShaRodaSammy Rex has the opportunity to close with a hot streak, as the last four games of their season are projected to be less difficult than the league average.

Draft Notes

  • Earning Your Paycheck

ShaRodaSammy Rex will have some tough decisions to make at WR each week, with a scant projected points difference between their third- (Emmanuel Sanders), fourth- (Will Fuller), and fifth-ranked (Phillip Dorsett) wideouts.

  • I Keep Getting Older

And they stay the same age. ShaRodaSammy Rex isn't afraid to rob the cradle, drafting the youngest team in the league with an average of just 4.5 years of NFL experience.

  • Risk Averse

ShaRodaSammy Rex minimized risk by choosing six consistent players among their 15 picks.

  • A Dominating Pair

ShaRodaSammy Rex has a pair of fantasy MVPs in their lineup. Last season, two of their players (Odell Beckham Jr. and Gary Barnidge) finished among the top-20 players that were on the most first-place fantasy teams.

  • A Low Floor, but a High Ceiling?

ShaRodaSammy Rex grabbed a sleeper in Phillip Dorsett with pick No. 146.

  • Digging Deep

Charles Clay is owned in only 9% of all Yahoo! leagues, but will surely reward ShaRodaSammy Rex for their faith! Or not.

Player Analysis

    • O. Beckham Jr., WR
    • Round 1, Pick 2
Does Odell Beckham Jr. Believe in UFOs?

Because his all-purpose yardage figures are out of this world. Beckham Jr. is projected to rank ninth in the league with 1,526 total yards.

    • LeSean McCoy, RB
    • Round 3, Pick 26
    Wait For It

ShaRodaSammy Rex held off on drafting a RB early, waiting until the third round to snag their "lead back" (LeSean McCoy).

    • E. Sanders, WR
    • Round 6, Pick 71
Was Emmanuel Sanders the Best Choice at a Pick at No. 71?

ShaRodaSammy Rex apparently thinks so. The Broncos' wideout is only predicted to have 111 points this year, after producing 148 last year.

    • Gary Barnidge, TE
    • Round 7, Pick 74
    Gary the Great

Drafting for last year's results is risky, but Barnidge did rank second among TEs for targets (125), third for receptions (79), fourth for yardage (1,043), and fourth for TDs (nine).

    • Dan Bailey, K
    • Round 8, Pick 95
    Taking a Chance

With their eighth-round pick, ShaRodaSammy Rex threw caution to the wind. They took Dan Bailey at pick number 95 despite an ADP of 133.3 across all Yahoo! leagues.

Best Available

While ShaRodaSammy Rex is projected to have three subpar positions, QB is clearly their weakest unit and should be upgraded first.

How We Grade

Draft grades are based strictly on teams' draft performances. This is calculated by counting the number of fantasy points teams are projected to score over the course of the season using their optimal line-ups. The grades do not take schedule into account. Because of bye weeks and other variables it is possible to earn a high grade yet be projected to finish in the middle of the pack. The opposite is also true. Bottom line: Fantasy Football is like the real game. You can draft the greatest talent in the world but you still need to manage your team every week to get the most out of that talent. As a wise man once said, "On any given Sunday..."
