    • Chiefs inform Isaiah Buggs he will be released
      Chiefs released DL Isaiah Buggs.

Advice: This one felt inevitable. Over the last month, Buggs has been charged with misdemeanor cruelty to dogs in the second degree and was arrested last week on domestic violence and burglary charges. The sixth-year pro never played a regular-season game with the Chiefs and is unlikely to see action anytime soon as he sorts out these legal issues. Buggs played in 10 games for the Lions last season before being released, totaling 12 tackles, two TFLs, and one sack. Buggs after last week’s arrest. Rotoworld Monday, 8:00 am

    • Lewis Cine at risk of being a training camp cut?
According to an article on ESPN, Vikings S Lewis Cine ‘might have the toughest chance of earning a roster spot’ this season.

Advice: The article also noted that Cine “appeared to be no better than the sixth safety on the [Vikings’] roster.” Cine was drafted by the Vikings with the No. 32 pick in the 2022 NFL Draft but has played in just 10 games since entering the league. The former Georgia safety suffered a compound fracture to his left leg in Week 4 of his rookie season and has yet to make a start as a pro. Cine has just one career tackle to his name and has played on only 10 career defensive snaps. Between his limited usage over two seasons and the latest rumors out of camp, it sounds like Cine is a legitimate risk of being left off of the 53-man roster despite the former first-rounder being just two years into his career. • White (Achilles) ‘making good progress’ in rehab
Rams HC Sean McVay said Tre’Davious White (Achilles) is “making good progress” in his recovery.

Advice: White suffered a torn Achilles in Week 4 of last season and is still rehabbing his way back from the injury. The former Bill signed a one-year deal with the Rams earlier this offseason, and it doesn’t sound like McVay is ready to commit to White seeing a full workload when training camp kicks off next month. Still, the early reports on his recovery are encouraging, but most of his work this offseason has been done off to the side during team practices. Rotoworld Sunday, 1:14 pm

    • Wants new team, open to retirement
Leonard said he wishes to sign with a new team and play during the 2024 NFL season, but that he'd be at peace with calling it a career if no opportunity presents itself, Kyle Smeldy of the Indianapolis Star reports.

Advice: Leonard, a three-time All-Pro, posted 88 tackles in 14 regular-season games split between the Colts and Eagles in 2023, his comeback after a 2022 campaign plagued by injuries. Though he's remained a free agent throughout OTAs and mandatory minicamps, Leonard said he's staying in shape and waiting for an opportunity to sign, while leaving open the possibility of retirement. "If it happens, it happens," Leonard said. "If it don't, it don't. I think throughout my career I've had a great career, even if I do step away from it." Rotowire.com Sunday, 11:01 am

    • Latches on with New Orleans
The Saints signed McCain on Thursday.

Advice: McCain was waived by the Panthers with an undisclosed injury last September, and he appears to now be back to full health. The 26-year-old hasn't played in an NFL game since getting into two contests with Philadelphia in 2021 but will have a chance in training camp to compete for a depth role in New Orleans' secondary. Advice: Phelps was recently arrested for drunk driving after crashing his car into a restaurant and causing nearly $300,000 worth of damage. • Signs with hometown team
Teamer is slated to sign a one-year contract with the Saints on Thursday, Matthew Paras of NOLA.com reports.

Advice: Teamer, a New Orleans native and former Tulane standout, spent the last three seasons in Las Vegas but attended the Saints' rookie minicamp and mandatory minicamp. He was waived by the Raiders back in November and also arrested for a DUI. Now, Teamer faces an opportunity to compete for a depth role at safety, where his ability to contribute on special teams could also come in handy. Rotowire.com Thursday, 8:59 am
