  • Belichick: Cam's struggles not related to COVID
Patriots head coach Bill Belichick said aftereffects of COVID-19 are not affecting Cam Newton's play.

Advice: "We'd list him on the injury report if he was," Belichick said when asked if Newton's recent struggles were related to his positive virus test in early October. "I don't think he's had any symptoms the whole way." Speculation had swirled about Newton -- who was benched Sunday after throwing three interceptions against the 49ers -- dealing with the effects of COVID-19 in his return to the field this month. That appears not to be the case.  Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 5:03 am

  • Goff's pair of TDs more than enough to beat Bears
Jared Goff completed 23-of-33 passes for 219 yards and two touchdowns in the Rams' 24-10, Week 7 win over the Bears Monday night.

Advice: Goff got the scoring started with a four-yard touchdown strike to Josh Reynolds in the first quarter and then later hit Gerald Everett on an easy pitch-and-catch for a 12-yard score in the third frame. Goff is having a career year in terms of completion rate but has just two 300-yard games in an offense that is one of the most run-heavy units in the sport. Goff has settled in as a weekly QB2 ahead of a Week 8 road date with the Dolphins on a short week. Rotoworld.com Monday, 8:27 pm

  • Foles tosses 2 INTs, Bears' offense TD-less on MNF
Nick Foles completed 28-of-40 passes for 261 scoreless yards and two interceptions in the Bears' 24-10, Week 7 loss to the Rams Monday night.

Advice: Foles entered this one averaging a pitiful 5.8 yards per attempt, yet Bears fans had been doing victory laps, suggesting GM Ryan Pace made the right call by giving up compensation for him and his contract over the offseason. The reality is Foles has been very mediocre and was terrible in this one. He missed two would-be easy touchdowns when his receivers dusted Jalen Ramsey. One should've been a 96-yarder to Darnell Mooney, and then Javon Wims beat Ramsey for a would-be 66-yarder in the fourth quarter. Foles is merely a game manager who can't afford turnovers. • Belichick: Cam Newton 'absolutely' the starter
Patriots head coach Bill Belichick said Cam Newton is "absolutely" the team's starter.

Advice: The clarification was necessary after Newton was yanked Sunday in a blowout loss to the Niners. Belichick said he put Jarrett Stidham in the game to get the young QB more experience. Newton was once again awful in Week 7, managing just 98 yards and throwing three interceptions. "I don't fear my position stability more so than controlling the locker room," Newton told reporters Monday. "Performances like yesterday jeopardizes [that]. It's like 'Oh my God!' Players talk and that's what's most important to me. Knowing you have your coaches' belief [is good], but my belief is that I want to have the whole facility." Newton's rushing potential will keep him on the QB2 radar this week against the Bills.  Rotoworld.com Monday, 8:40 am

  • Andy Dalton enters NFL's concussion protocol
Cowboys QB Andy Dalton has entered the league's concussion protocol.

Advice: Dalton's status for Sunday night's game against the Eagles would be uncertain until late in the week. That means rookie QB Ben DiNucci could get the nod for Dallas in a critical divisional game. DiNucci under center would be a marked downgrade for every fantasy-relevant Cowboys player. The Eagles defense is a top Week 8 option no matter which quarterback starts for Dallas.  Rotoworld.com Monday, 5:45 am

  • Carr mediocre as Las Vegas fails to answer Bucs
Derek Carr completed 24-of-36 passes for 284 yards, two touchdowns and one interception in Las Vegas' Week 7 loss to Tampa Bay.

Advice: Carr went 3-for-3 for 62 yards and a touchdown on Las Vegas' opening drive but was quiet for the rest of the game as the Raiders' defense (or lack thereof) failed to stop anything the Bucs threw their way, forcing Carr to dropback and get suffocated by Tampa Bay's sieging front-seven. Carr continued to show rapport with Nelson Agholor (5/107/1), finding the 27-year-old for a 44-yard gain in the third quarter, but was ineffective (and forced an interception) on 11 fourth-quarter plays while the Bucs closed the game on a 21-0 run. Fantasy players should consider this one a blip on the radar since Carr had previously tossed for 300-plus yards and multiple scores in back-to-back games. He'll rank as a low-end QB2 in Week 8 as the Raiders attempt to bounce back against Cleveland. Rotoworld.com Monday, 2:00 am

  • Russell Wilson has three turnovers in first loss
Russell Wilson completed 33-of-50 passes for 388 yards with three touchdowns and three interceptions in Week 7 against the Cardinals.

Advice: Wilson added 84 yards on six carries. He came out firing, with two first-half touchdowns to Tyler Lockett. He also threw a bad interception in the end-zone that would have been pick-sixed if not for DK Metcalf making a TD-saving tackle. Wilson later forced another interception in overtime that let the Cardinals kick the game-winning field goal. With the loss, the Seahawks (5-1) are only one game ahead of the Cardinals (5-2) and Rams (4-2) in the NFC West. Wilson gets another division matchup with the 49ers in Week 8. Kyler Murray completed 34-of-48 passes for 360 yards with three touchdowns and an interception and rushed for 67 yards and a touchdown in the Cardinals' Week 7 overtime win against Seattle.

Advice: Murray rebounded after completing 38% of his passes in a win against Dallas last week. He led the Cardinals to a game-tying field goal late in regulation and the game winner in overtime. Murray was also Arizona's leading rusher with Kenyan Drake (ankle) leaving in the fourth quarter. It's a signature win for Murray and the Cardinals. • Jarrett Stidham lackluster in Cam's place
Jarrett Stidham completed 6-of-10 passes for 64 yards and an interception in the Patriots' 33-6 Week 7 loss to the 49ers.

Advice: With Stidham in, the Patriots were trying to bleed to clock to a merciful end in the blowout loss. Still, Stidham was jumpy and unsure in the pocket, often firing into double coverage. If there are any answers for the Pats' offensive woes, it's not Stidham. He should only be rostered in deep superflex formats.  Rotoworld.com Sunday, 5:53 pm

  • Cam throws three picks, gets benched vs. SF
Cam Newton completed 9-of-15 passes for 98 yards and three interceptions in the Patriots' 33-6 Week 7 loss to the 49ers, adding five rushes for 19 yards.

Advice: Newton was inaccurate all day, continuing a disturbing trend. One has to wonder about the health of his throwing shoulder, which hampered him for his final couple years in Carolina. Jarrett Stidham replaced Newton in the second half with the game decided. New England's offensive struggles aren't entirely his fault: no Patriots pass catcher can separate from coverage, leaving Newton to force throws into tight windows time and again. He'll be a QB2 option next week against the Bills if he gets the start.  Rotoworld.com Sunday, 5:46 pm

  • Minshew doesn't get benched, still loses by 10
Gardner Minshew completed 14-of-27 passes for 173 yards and two touchdowns in the Jaguars' Week 7 loss to the Chargers.

Advice: The good news is that Minshew was not benched mid-game following rumors that he's on the verge of being replaced. The bad news is that he still struggled. Minshew's arm lacks NFL-starter zip and his usual serviceable accuracy has gone missing in recent weeks. It's easy to tell that D.J. Chark and the other receivers are ready for a change, and the coaching staff could make a move at any point. That alone keeps Minshew outside of QB2 consideration even if he's been posting top-20 fantasy numbers through seven weeks. Rotoworld.com Sunday, 5:15 pm

  • Drew Lock atrocious in beatdown loss to Chiefs
Drew Lock completed 24-of-40 passes for 254 yards, zero touchdowns and two interceptions in the Broncos' 43-16, Week 7 loss to the Chiefs.

Advice: Playing in brutal cold and snow, Lock was brutally bad, making one inaccurate throw after another while putting essentially zero highlights on tape. His first interception was a 50-yard pick six where Daniel Sorensen predicted exactly where Lock would go from his five-receiver set. INT No. 2 was thrown behind K.J. Hamler and batted up into the air by the rookie. The bad throws are one thing. It's the lack of any good ones that is making Lock look nothing like the Broncos' quarterback of the future. The Broncos knew he would be volatile. So far, that is going only one direction. Lock needs to show much, much more to have any hope of keeping this job for 2021. The Chargers are a tough Week 8 matchup.  Rotoworld.com Sunday, 4:30 pm

  • Justin Herbert erupts for 412 total yards, 4 TDs
Justin Herbert completed 27-of-43 passes for 347 yards and three touchdowns in the Chargers' Week 7 win over the Jaguars, adding 65 yards and a touchdown on the ground.

Advice: Herbert continues to operate at high levels aside from the occasional rookie mistake. Today, he used his legs to pick up multiple first downs and a touchdown, and spread the defense vertically with the deep ball. He made two perfect passes down the field to no-namers Virgil Green and Jalen Guyton for scores. All this despite missing his starting center, right guard, and right tackle. The Chargers' ceiling is higher than expected with Herbert pacing for Offensive Rookie of the Year consideration. He's leaped into the low-end QB1 conversation in fantasy circles, too. A tougher challenge awaits in Denver next week, however. Rotoworld.com Sunday, 4:29 pm

  • Brady, Bucs hang 45 points on Vegas for fifth win
Tom Brady completed 33-of-45 passes for 369 yards and four touchdowns in Tampa Bay's decisive 45-20 Week 7 win over the Raiders.

Advice: He also snuck one up the middle for a one-yard touchdown run in the first quarter. The Raiders only trailed by four points entering the fourth quarter but Brady engineered three touchdowns across the Bucs' last 20 plays to hang 21 unanswered points on Las Vegas in a decisive win. It was arguably the GOAT's most impressive performance under coach Bruce Arians thus far as he had the offense clicking like a well-oiled machine in throwing accurate downfield shots to Scotty Miller (6/109/1), fades to Rob Gronkowski (5/62/1), and crossing routes to Chris Godwin (9/88/1). Brady also moved ahead of Drew Brees for the most touchdowns thrown in NFL history (559 to 558) on Sunday. Expect the team to match this performance in Week 8 against the Giants. Jimmy Garoppolo completed 20-of-25 passes for 278 yards and two interceptions in the 49ers' 33-6 Week 7 win against the Patriots.

Advice: Jimmy G had an efficient outing, and one of his interceptions was a desperation deep ball as time dwindled in the first half. George Kittle, Deebo Samuel, and Brandon Aiyuk give Garoppolo explosive weapons with which to work, making him a far more viable fantasy QB than he was early in the season. • Mahomes rests for final seven minutes of blowout
Patrick Mahomes completed 15-of-23 passes for 200 yards and a touchdown in the Chiefs' Week 7 game against the Broncos.

Advice: With the Chiefs winning 37-16, Mahomes took a seat for the final 6:50. Mahomes took three sacks behind his injury-compromised offensive line, so it was a no-brainer to get him out of the game. It was a nightmare day for Mahomes' fantasy managers, as the Chiefs housed a pick six and kick return touchdown, severely limiting Mahomes' volume and accumulation. When Mahomes did have to throw, the Broncos did a good job of taking away the deep ball. Mahomes' score was a 10-yard quick out to Tyreek Hill where the wideout did most of the work. Mahomes hasn't had many of his typical eruptions this season, but today was the first time he failed to provide multiple scores. Mahomes has a mouthwatering Week 8 matchup in the Jets, though that will almost certainly be another game where he doesn't have to throw much in the second half.  Rotoworld.com Sunday, 4:07 pm

Patriots QB Cam Newton was replaced by Jarrett Stidham against the 49ers.

Advice: Newton had 98 yards and three picks through three quarters, out of sync with his pass catchers and unable to evade rushers. • Deshaun Watson tops 300 yards in blowout loss
Deshaun Watson completed 29-of-39 passes for 309 yards and two scores in Houston's Week 7 blowout loss to the Packers.

Advice: Houston went three-and-out with its first offensive possession — an ominous sign of what the team had in store the rest of the afternoon. With David Johnson as the centerpiece, the Texans' lifeless offense sleepwalked to a 21-0 deficit in the first half and eventually fell behind 35-13 before marching down the field for an empty touchdown to bring the game within two scores during the final minute. The team will now have a full 14 days to forget about this one altogether before returning to the field in Week 8 against Jacksonville. Watson will remain a low-end QB1 in that one. • Dalton: 75 yards, INT before exiting game vs. WFT
Andy Dalton completed 9-of-19 passes for 75 yards and an interception in the Cowboys' Week 7 loss to Washington.

Advice: Dalton was helped off the field in the third quarter after absorbing a vicious head shot from Washington LB Jon Bostic, who was then ejected. Dalton again had no time to operate in the pocket, as he was sacked thrice and pressured on nearly every drop back. The Dallas offense is a dysfunctional mess and there might not be anything Dalton can do about it. He'll be an iffy QB3 option next week against the Eagles.  Rotoworld.com Sunday, 2:50 pm

  • Ryan Tannehill has 220 yards, 2 TDs late vs. PIT
Ryan Tannehill completed 18-of-30 passes for 220 yards and two touchdowns in the Titans' Week 7 loss to the Steelers.

Advice: Tannehill wasn't as sharp as he's been for the last 12 months. A large chunk of his production came on a 72-yard catch-and-run from stud WR A.J. Brown on a crossing route. Tannehill might be the type of quarterback that feasts on below-average defenses and settles in as a good, not great quarterback against the top defenses because they can handle play-action passes better. • Stafford throws for 340 yards, TD in win over ATL
Matthew Stafford completed 25-of-36 passes for 340 yards and one touchdown in the Lions' 23-22, Week 7 win over the Falcons.

Advice: It was Stafford's first 300-yard game of the season. He hooked up with Kenny Golladay six times for 114 of those yards, and the touchdown pass was a last-play, game-winning 11-yard flick to T.J. Hockenson as time expired. Stafford has been a mid-to-low QB2 for fantasy all season, and that won't change next week in a date with the Colts' above-average defense. Rotoworld.com Sunday, 2:07 pm

Matt Ryan completed 31-of-42 passes for 338 yards and one touchdown in the Falcons' 23-22, Week 7 loss to the Lions.

Advice: Ryan did most of the heavy lifting to get the Falcons up and down the field, but it was Todd Gurley who capitalized with a pair of inside-the-10 touchdown runs. Ryan's lone score was a short hookup with Calvin Ridley, and the duo also connected for a two-point conversion later in the day. Ryan has back-to-back 300-yard games and remains one of the best pure passers. He just does nothing as a runner, capping his upside. Ryan will be a back-end QB1 next week at Carolina. Ben DiNucci completed two of three passes for 39 yards in the Cowboys' Week 7 loss to Washington.

Advice: DiNucci, a rookie making his first appearance, came in after Andy Dalton was knocked out by a vicious head shot. • Teddy Bridgewater still stuck on two TDs vs. NO
Teddy Bridgewater completed 23-of-28 passes for 254 yards and two touchdowns in the Panthers' 27-24, Week 7 loss to the Saints.

Advice: It looked like it might finally be the day Bridgewater reached three passing touchdowns after he entered halftime 11-of-13 for 170 yards and a pair of scores. Instead, the Saints python'd the second half and Bridgewater was held under 260 yards for the second consecutive week. Bridgewater made a beautiful play on the Panthers' biggest strike of the day, looking S Marcus Williams away from the middle of the field to free D.J. Moore for an uncovered 74-yard score. TD No. 2 was a seven-yard flip "pass" to Moore. Bridgewater provides floor in most matchups, but the ceiling just isn't there. Nevertheless, that will be put to the test for this week's Thursday matchup with the Falcons. At worst, Bridgewater will be a top-16 option for Week 8.  Rotoworld.com Sunday, 1:44 pm

  • Drew Brees finds EZ three times in return from bye
Drew Brees completed 29-of-36 passes for 287 yards and two touchdowns in the Saints' 27-24, Week 7 win over the Panthers, adding a one-yard touchdown run.

Advice: An air yards extravaganza this was not, but even with Michael Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders sidelined, Brees completed one short pass after another and once again came out averaging more than eight yards per attempt. Brees' margin for error is shrinking along with his average depth of target, but he has mostly found a way to get it done in 2020. Especially if Thomas and Sanders remain sidelined, it will be much more challenging to do so in Week 8, where the Saints must venture to Chicago to take on the Bears' elite defense. LT Terron Armstead's (arm) health is also a concern. Even if his receiver corps is at full strength, Brees will be best ranked in the QB12-14 range vs. the Bears.  Rotoworld.com Sunday, 1:38 pm

  • Burrow goes for 406 yards and three scores in loss
Joe Burrow completed 35-of-47 passes for 406 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception in the Bengals' Week 7 loss to the Browns, adding six carries for 34 yards and a touchdown.

Advice: Outside of one interception, Burrow did everything needed to come away from this game with a win. He was sacked four times while his offensive line dealt with a slew of injuries and still stayed in the pocket long enough to connect with Tee Higgins and A.J. Green on multiple deep passes. He also scored on the ground for the third time this year. Cincinnati's defense simply couldn't stop Baker Mayfield once he got hot. Cincinnati ultimately lost 37-34. The Bengals continued to rely on Burrow's arm instead of opting for a balanced approach. Burrow is on pace for 670 throws in his rookie campaign. That mark would be eighth-most for an NFL passer, rookie or not. Burrow remains a fringe QB1 because of his passing volume and rushing production.  Rotoworld.com Sunday, 1:30 pm

  • Baker Mayfield throws 5 scores in win over Bengals
Baker Mayfield completed 22-of-28 passes for 297 yards, five touchdowns, and one interception in the Browns Week 7 win over the Bengals.

Advice: Mayfield was benched in Week 6 and started this game 0-of-5 with an interception. It would not have been surprising for Kevin Stefanski to trot out Case Keenum and wave the white flag on Mayfield. He chose to give Mayfield more time and was rewarded with a historic performance from his young passer. Mayfield completed his next 21 passes and lead the Browns to a 37-34 win over Cincinnati. Mayfield has been dealing with a rib injury and was without Odell Beckham (knee) for most of this game. Ben Roethlisberger completed 32-of-49 passes for 268 yards, two touchdowns, and three interceptions in the Steelers' Week 7 win over the Titans.

Advice: Entering the contest, Roethlisberger was only averaging 33 pass attempts while letting his defense create problems on the other side of the ball. Things changed today. Big Ben set a new season high with 49 attempts. He constantly found Diontae Johnson (15 targets) and JuJu Smith-Schuster (13 targets) underneath for chain-moving gains. Darnold has missed two games with the shoulder injury and returns to a Jets offense missing its top receiver, Jamison Crowder (groin, doubtful). Minshew has looked like nothing more than a bridge passer who lasts as long as his performance keeps him afloat. Advice: Darnold practiced on a limited basis this week. Barring a setback, he'll return Sunday after sitting out the last two games. Darnold is an upgrade to the Jets' offense over Joe Flacco, but he's not a Week 7 streaming option. Rotoworld.com Friday, 8:26 am

  • Darnold (shoulder) limited in practice Thursday
Sam Darnold (shoulder) was limited in practice Thursday.

Advice: Darnold was limited on Wednesday as well. He's trending in the right direction for Week 7 against the Bills. When he returns, Darnold will be running for his life as a fantasy QB3 at least until LT Mekhi Becton (shoulder) returns. Becton was limited on Thursday. The Jets are in Trevor Lawrence contention as the NFL's worst team. Rotoworld.com Thursday, 1:42 pm

  • Bucs-Raiders game moved out of SNF spot
The Bucs-Raiders game has been moved from Sunday night to Sunday at 4:05 p.m. eastern time.

Advice: The Cardinals-Seahawks game has been moved into the Sunday night spot, ensuring the NFL won't be without a prime time game. It's a sign that league officials are concerned about whether the Bucs-Raiders can can be played amid the Raiders' COVID-19 issues. The entire Vegas offensive line is in isolation after Trent Brown tested positive for the virus and video surfaced of the team's offensive linemen hanging out without masks. Fantasy managers would do well to make the necessary adjustments in case this game is postponed.  Rotoworld.com Thursday, 12:31 pm

  • Sam Darnold (shoulder) back at Jets practice
Sam Darnold (shoulder) is practicing on a limited basis Wednesday.

Advice: It's a good sign for Darnold's chances of returning this week. Darnold has missed the last two games with an AC joint sprain. Getting Darnold back would be a boost to the Jets' league-worst offense. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 9:25 am

  • Andy Dalton pitiful (4.9 YPA, 2 INTs) in MNF loss
Andy Dalton completed 34-of-54 passes for 266 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions in the Cowboys' 38-10, Week 6 loss to the Cardinals Monday night.

Advice: Dalton didn't instill any confidence in Cowboys supporters in his first start following Dak Prescott's season-ending broken ankle. The bad throws were too many to even count, and Dalton couldn't move the ball despite his elite wideout trio, instead checking down to Ezekiel Elliott for a team-high 11 targets. The Dallas offensive line has been wrecked by injuries, but Dalton did nothing to help them out. A late-game goal-line sequence was littered with laughably off-target throws before he finally hit Amari Cooper for a short, meaningless touchdown to bring the score to 38-10. Dalton will have better days, but it's clear he's not going to be anything like Prescott. Things should be a little easier next week at Washington, but the Football Team defense is probably a better one-for-one fantasy play. Rotoworld.com Monday, 8:41 pm

  • Kyler throws pair of TDs, runs for another in win
Kyler Murray completed just 9-of-24 passes for 188 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception in the Cardinals' 38-10, Week 6 win over the Cowboys, adding 74 rushing yards and a touchdown on 10 rushing attempts.

Advice: He completed a lousy 37.5% of his passes, and the bulk of Murray's passing yards came on an 80-yard touchdown to Christian Kirk after hooking up with Kirk on a six-yard score earlier in the night. Murray's rushing score was a walk-in, one-yard keeper. Murray has at least 67 rushing yards in 4-of-6 games and multiple passing scores in three of his last four outings. He's also scored on the ground in all but one game. Murray gets a juicy Week 7 date with a Seahawks defense that is hemorrhaging yards and points through the air. Rotoworld.com Monday, 8:36 pm

  • Mahomes throws two scores vs. Buffalo
Patrick Mahomes completed 21-of-26 passes for 225 yards and two touchdowns in the Chiefs' Week 6 win against the Bills.

Advice: Mahomes started off looking a bit shaky in the rain. There was a steady rainfall to start the game and it appeared to be affecting both Mahomes and Josh Allen. Mahomes missed on two of his first three throws and the Chiefs' initial drive ultimately stalled out at midfield. However, he came back with a vengeance after the first drive. Mahomes missed the mark on just two attempts in the second half and connected with Travis Kelce for two touchdowns. After a lackluster performance in his Week 5 loss to the Raiders, Mahomes was in peak form on Monday night. He remains one of the best fantasy quarterbacks in the league heading into his Week 7 matchup with the Broncos.  Rotoworld.com Monday, 6:04 pm

  • Goff held under 200 yards, throws two touchdowns
Jared Goff completed 19-of-38 passes for 198 yards with two touchdowns and an interception in Week 6 against the 49ers.

Advice: Goff played worse than his stats, throwing a 40-yard fourth quarter touchdown to Josh Reynolds to salvage his night. The Rams got beat in time of possession and Goff only had 38 attempts despite trailing the entire game. Goff's interception came trying to force a pass in the end-zone on fourth-and-goal. • Garoppolo rebounds with three TDs after benching
Jimmy Garoppolo completed 23-of-33 passes for 268 yards and three touchdowns in the 49ers' Week 6 win over the Rams.

Advice: Garoppolo started hot, completing 14 of his first 16 passes. He did his damage early, with 193 yards and all three of his touchdowns coming in the first half. This was a needed rebound for Garoppolo after he was benched in the second half last week. Garoppolo looked healthy and seemed to be getting more drive behind his passes. The 49ers improved to 3-3 with the win. Garoppolo is trending up but has a tough matchup with the Patriots' secondary in Week 7. Rotoworld.com Oct 18, 8:28 pm

  • Tom Brady, Bucs cruise to 4-2 over Green Bay
Tom Brady completed 17-of-27 passes for 166 yards and two touchdowns in Tampa Bay's dominating 38-10 Week 6 win over the Packers.

Advice: Brady could have pulled up a chair and sipped mai tais as Tampa Bay's defense frustrated the Packers' attack with six sacks, six pass breakups and a pick-six, ultimately gifting the Bucs their fourth win of the year from the opening kick. Brady only had to manage this one until the end, rekindling an old flame with Rob Gronkowski (5/78/1) as Ronald Jones (23/113/2) bulldozed his way to his third consecutive 100-yard performance on the ground. • Stefanski says Mayfield remains starter for Week 7
Coach Kevin Stefanski announced Baker Mayfield will start Week 7 against the Bengals as long as he's healthy.

Advice: Mayfield played through a ribs injury Sunday but was entirely ineffective and was sent to the bench in the third quarter with the Browns down 31-7. Case Keenum came on and went a mediocre 5-of-10 for 46 yards (4.6 YPA) in relief. Mayfield should keep the job; this is the right decision. • Minshew finds end zone on ground, through air
Gardner Minshew completed 25-of-44 passes for 243 yards, one touchdown and an interception in the Jaguars' 34-16, Week 6 loss to the Lions, adding three rushes for 14 yards and an additional score.

Advice: Dreary stuff in a matchup where Minshew should have done more fantasy damage. His six-yard scoring scramble late in the third quarter did ensure his day was far from a disaster. Minshew's pick was a terri-bad throw where the ball appeared to die in the air like a wounded dove. He also missed D.J. Chark for a gimme 50-yard completion on an underthrown ball. Minshew continues to confound his low expectations, but he isn't looking like a quarterback who will graduate beyond bridge status. • Big Ben has quiet day in Steelers' blowout win
Ben Roethlisberger completed 14-of-22 passes for 162 yards and one touchdown in the Steelers' 38-7, Week 6 win over the Browns.

Advice: The Browns didn't put up a fight in this one, so the Steelers simply leaned on their defense and James Conner to coast to an easy victory. The 22 attempts were by far a new season-low for Big Ben. His touchdown was a hookup with James Washington, who saw a team-high seven targets. • Matthew Stafford has sleepy one-score day vs. JAX
Matthew Stafford completed 19-of-31 passes for 223 yards, one touchdown and an interception in the Lions' 34-16, Week 6 win over the Jaguars.

Advice: It was the sleepiest of efforts on a day where the Lions ran over the Jaguars on the ground (39/180/3). Stafford's score was a one-yarder where T.J. Hockenson fell backward into the end zone. His interception was tossed in the direction of two leaping linemen. Stafford otherwise played game manager as the Lions easily won on the road. The owner of just nine touchdowns through five starts, Stafford has looked nothing like the aggressive madman he was in the first half of 2019. He's yet to have a 300-yard day and is completing a modest 60.7 percent of his passes. Fantasy managers will hopefully get more in next week's almost-guaranteed shootout with the Falcons.  Rotoworld.com Oct 18, 2:11 pm

  • Watson posts 335 yards and four TDs in defeat
Deshaun Watson completed 28-of-37 passes for 335 yards and four touchdowns in the Texans' 42-36, Week 6 overtime loss to the Titans, adding four carries for 26 additional yards.

Advice: Dueling with Ryan Tannehill, Watson committed zero turnovers as Tannehill gave the ball away twice, but the Texans gave up one big play after another on defense. Watson found each of Will Fuller, Brandin Cooks, Randall Cobb and Darren Fells for touchdowns, playing essentially a perfect game in his second contest without Bill O'Brien. His score to Cobb was the highlight, as he rolled out right to buy time before finding Cobb dashing back to the front of the end zone. His strike to Fuller was an uncovered 53-yarder. Watson has been back to operating at an elite level for the better part of the past month after his slow start. • Ryan Tannehill stays scorching for 364 and four
Ryan Tannehill completed 30-of-41 passes for 364 yards, four touchdowns and one interception in the Titans' 42-36, Week 6 overtime win over the Texans.

Advice: A new season high, the 364 yards were the fifth most of Tannehill's resurgent career. Tannehill did toss just his second interception of the season. He also lost a fumble in his own red zone moments after LT Taylor Lewan departed with a knee issue. Fill-in Ty Sambrailo got beaten like a drum by J.J. Watt, and Tannehill got crunched on third down. Other than that, it felt like one big gain after another, including a pair of scores to A.J. Brown. Tannehill found backup TE Anthony Firkser for 8/113/1 after Jonnu Smith was forced out with an ankle injury. The Titans like to limit Tannehill's attempts, but he was more than capable of keeping up in shootout ball. After facing Romeo Crennel's swinging gate defense, Tannehill does have a much tougher Week 7 assignment in the Steelers.   Rotoworld.com Oct 18, 1:33 pm

  • Bridgewater inaccurate vs Bears, throws 2 INTs
Teddy Bridgewater completed 16-of-29 passes for 216 yards and two interceptions in the Panthers' 23-16 Week 6 loss to the Bears.

Advice: Bridgewater was uncharacteristically inaccurate, including a vital miss on 4th and 2 to a wide open D.J. Moore on an outside breaking route, with Teddy placing the ball over an arms length away. It did not help that the Bears pass rushers frequently got the better of the Panthers' offensive line, forcing Bridgewater to scramble eight times for a total of 48 yards. It was a bookend game for the quarterback, as his first and last drives ended with an interception. The Panthers are still overperforming expectations at 3-3 and face the Saints in Week 7. • Burrow runs for TD, tosses last-second INT in loss
Joe Burrow completed 25-of-39 passes for 313 yards and one pick in Cincinnati's 31-27 Week 6 loss to the Colts.

Advice: He also tucked the ball and punched it in from two yards out to help build Cincinnati's 21-0 first-half lead. Burrow made a living getting the ball downfield to Tee Higgins (6/125) and on slants over the middle to A.J. Green (8/96) but ceded touchdowns inside the 10-yard line to both Joe Mixon (18/54/1) and Giovani Bernard (8/15/1). Sunday was still the rookie's fourth game with 300-plus passing yards in his last five starts. Nick Foles completed 23-of-39 passes for 198 yards, one touchdown and an interception in the Bears' 23-16, Week 6 win over the Panthers.

Advice: The Bears are now 5-1 with a point differential of +12. Incredible, but this team has done an outstanding job of winning close games. Foles' first touchdown was his best moment of the contest, threading a pass through multiple defenders to rookie TE Cole Kmet after taking a delay of game out of a timeout. Drew Lock completed 10-of-24 passes for 189 yards with two interceptions in the Broncos' Week 6 win over the Patriots.

Advice: Lock was making his first start since Week 2. He gifted the Patriots interceptions on back to back throws late in the fourth quarter, but Denver's defense got a stop for the win. Lock was playing without much support on offense, with Melvin Gordon (illness), K.J. Hamler  (hamstring) and TE Noah Fant (ankle) all sidelined. The main takeaway is Lock is healthy and showed no limitations with shoulder. • Matt Ryan erupts for 371 yards, 4 TD with Julio in
Matt Ryan completed 30-of-40 attempts for 371 yards and four touchdowns in the Falcons' Week 6 win over the Vikings.

Advice: Ryan was in an 11-quarter touchdown drought when he found Julio Jones for a first-quarter touchdown. Jones was the missing ingredient for the entire Falcons offense in recent weeks. He adds way more big-play potential and allows more room for ancillary pieces to operate. Ryan's best play was a scramble on 4th-and-1 that resulted in a flick to Jones for a 40-yard run-and catch. When Ryan, Jones, and Calvin Ridley are fully healthy, Ryan can be jammed inside top-12 fantasy rankings. Cam Newton completed 17-of-25 passes for 157 yards with two interceptions in the Patriots' Week 6 loss to Denver.

Advice: This was Newton's first start since going on the COVID list. He salvaged his day with 76 rushing yards and a goal-line TD, but Newton struggled in this one, taking four sacks and coming up short of a comeback after consecutive turnovers set up New England to win it on the final drive. Newton has now thrown for under 200 yards in 3-of-4 starts. • Baker Mayfield benched with Browns trailing 31-7
Baker Mayfield was benched in the third quarter of the Browns’ Week 6 game against the Steelers.

Advice: The Browns were down 31-7 when Mayfield was pulled in favor of Case Keenum. Despite the Browns’ 4-1 record, Mayfield has shown little signs of improvement off his miserable 2019. Before leaving against the Steelers, Mayfield was 10-of-18 for 119 yards, one touchdowns, and two interceptions, including a pick-six in the first quarter. He also absorbed four sacks.
