Led by a Pair of Seahawks, The Dominators Will Be a Force to be Reckoned With

Draft Summary

Having the first pick in the draft doesn't guarantee a championship. In this case, however, it very well could. The Dominators did what top-flight fantasy owners do when they land the No. 1 overall pick. They put together a juggernaut. After picking up multiple Seahawks in the early rounds (Russell Wilson and DK Metcalf), The Dominators are predicted to finish in first place in Hiawatha Elite League with a mark of 11-2 (1,697 points).

  • Sony Michel

Biggest Steal

What a great late-round value for The Dominators, who got Michel in the 15th round, about seven rounds later than his ADP of 102. Coming off a season in which he rushed for 912 yards and 7 TDs and had 12 catches for 94 yards, totaling 141 fantasy points, Michel is projected to score 167 fantasy points with the Patriots. That makes him a valuable No. 3 RB for this squad.

  • Jordan Howard

Stretch Pick

Are you in a sharing mood? We'd love to hear what prompted the selection of Howard at No. 72, about 23 picks earlier than his ADP of 95. Granted, maybe you're onto something? Projected to score 149 fantasy points this season with the Dolphins, he looks set to top last year when he rushed for 525 yards and 6 TDs and recorded 10 catches for 69 yards and 1 TD over 9 games, totaling 101 fantasy points. Based on projections, Howard will slot in as the No. 5 RB for The Dominators to begin the season.

Draft Notes

  • The Dominators face a tough task in Week 6 when they have six players on a bye, led by Russell Wilson, DK Metcalf, and Sony Michel. Your Week 6 opponent, Layne Ducks, won't be nearly as encumbered with only one player (Jared Cook) getting the week off.

  • Going off projected records, The Dominators won't encounter too many speed bumps in Hiawatha Elite League this season with a strength of schedule rated as the easiest. That doesn't mean you should take it easy, though. Soft schedules can become difficult without notice for fantasy managers who don't give their team the attention it requires.

  • The Dominators have drafted an impressive collection of players across the board. Combined, the top players from each position are projected to tally the 2nd-highest point total in Hiawatha Elite League. But that wasn't enough to satisfy you, as the rest of the roster is expected to reach a point total ranking 1st.

  • In spite of an unfilled slot at TE in the 6th round, The Dominators chose RB Jordan Howard with the 72nd pick, filling the WR/RB flex position at the expense of a higher leverage position. They were the second-to-last squad to fill a flex position.

How We Grade

Draft grades are based strictly on teams' draft performances. This is calculated by counting the number of fantasy points teams are projected to score over the course of the season using their optimal line-ups. The grades do not take schedule into account. Because of bye weeks and other variables it is possible to earn a high grade yet be projected to finish in the middle of the pack. The opposite is also true. Bottom line: Fantasy Football is like the real game. You can draft the greatest talent in the world but you still need to manage your team every week to get the most out of that talent. As a wise man once said, "On any given Sunday..."
