CardinalFan hand Gareth third straight loss, 97.96-82.10
CardinalFan earned a 97.96-82.10 win to hand Gareth their third consecutive loss. Gareth earned an 8.33-point lead on Thursday, but CardinalFan held the lead the rest of the way. They were led by the Miami Dolphins defense, who allowed only 10 points, surrendered 198 yards, and intercepted 3 passes for 23 points, and Carson Wentz, who passed for 306 yards and 3 touchdowns and ran for 21 yards (21.22 points). Dak Prescott (24.8 points) and the New England Patriots defense (14) carried the flag for Gareth in the loss. CardinalFan (5-7) will look to sustain their momentum against AltiTude Rams, while Gareth (5-7) meet Kayfabe in an effort to get back on track.
There were players with standout plays on both teams on Thursday, but after the dust settled, Gareth had a 35.50-27.17 lead. Hunter Renfrow had a 54-yard catch for CardinalFan, while Michael Gallup had a 41-yard catch. Dak Prescott made the highlight reel for Gareth with a 32-yard touchdown pass and a 51-yard pass.
Carson Wentz had a 62-yard touchdown pass for CardinalFan, while Brandin Cooks had a 40-yard touchdown catch, helping CardinalFan to a 94.09-74.20 lead.
While allowing only 10 points, surrendering 198 yards, and intercepting 3 passes against the Panthers, the Dolphins defense recorded 23 points this week. Their scoring output more-than-tripled their 6.75-point projection and was much higher than their 9.5-point season scoring average. The Dolphins defense ranks #8 among fantasy DEFs this season and will face the Giants next week.
The Miami Dolphins defense
Nice job overcoming that two-game winless skid, CardinalFan! Every fantasy GM is sure to be met with adversity at some point or another... keep on truckin' and good things will continue to happen.
"Not getting enough chances" shouldn't really be an excuse this week for Gareth. Our pass-catching corps (four WR and one TE) collectively got a grand total of 33 targets in Week 12. With just 17 total receptions, that group may be showing signs of chemistry issues.
