Elvis brush off projections, come back to knock off Joe Pendleton, 116.16-99.05
Both teams rose to the occasion and beat expectations, but Elvis took down Joe Pendleton, staging a comeback to earn a 116.16-99.05 victory. Despite trailing 81.95-68.76 heading into Sunday night, Elvis charged back behind Austin Ekeler (35.5 points) and Najee Harris (11.9). Cam Newton (189 Pass Yds, 2 Pass TDs, 46 Rush Yds, 1 Rush TD) and Diontae Johnson (7 Rec, 101 Rec Yds, 1 Rec TD) did their part for Joe Pendleton in the loss. Elvis (5-6) will look to keep it rolling against Indrid Cold, while Joe Pendleton (8-3) face off against Xheryk in an effort to right the ship.
There were players with highlight-reel plays for both teams early Sunday, but after all was said and done, Joe Pendleton had a 69.18-47.76 lead. For Elvis, Ryan Tannehill had a 46-yard pass. Cam Newton made the highlight reel for Joe Pendleton with a 27-yard touchdown pass and a 24-yard touchdown run.
Evan McPherson had a 54-yard field goal and a 53-yard field goal for Elvis, who trailed 81.95-68.76 after the late action.
