    Remigio took a substantial amount of first-team reps throughout OTAs and minicamp and looked impressive, Adam Teicher of ESPN reports.

    Advice: He got a chance to handle increased reps due to first-round rookie Xavier Worthy (hamstring) being sidelined, and Teicher reports that Remigio made the most of those opportunities. Kansas City boasts a crowded but still unsettled wide receiver corps, so Remigio will have to find a way to stand out in training camp alongside all of Marquise Brown, Rashee Rice, Justin Watson, Kadarius Toney, Mecole Hardman, Skyy Moore and Justyn Ross in order to make the roster.   • Surprisingly busy during OTAs
    Thomas caught a surprising number of passes during Carolina's offseason program, ESPN's David Newton reports.

    Advice: The 2018 fourth-round pick got a lot of snaps and routes early in his career but never improved on a rookie season with 36 catches for 333 yards and two touchdowns. He then had four straight years between 136 and 197 yards, before sinking to five catches for 56 yards last season while playing a career-low 206 snaps. It sounds like Thomas may be a better fit in new coach Dave Canales' scheme, but fantasy value still seems a bit far-fetched for a player with 1,055 yards and four TDs on 2,975 career snaps. The Panthers also have Tommy Tremble and 2024 fourth-round pick Ja'Tavion Sanders competing for playing time at tight end, with the former better suited to blocking and the latter more of a receiving threat.     Giants TE Lawrence Cager impressed coaches during minicamp.

    Advice: With Darren Waller’s recent retirement, the Giants are looking for a reliable pass-catching tight end. “It looked this spring like Cager and fourth-round pick Theo Johnson will be asked” to fill Waller’s role in the New York offense. Giants head coach Brian Daboll said Cager, a converted wideout who has 19 receptions over five NFL seasons, was “probably one of the most improved players throughout the offseason.” ESPN’s Jordan Raanan did not mention presumed starting TE Daniel Bellinger as a candidate to take on pass-catching duties in 2024.   • John Metchie appears to regain explosiveness
    ESPN’s DJ Bien-Aime believes Texans WR John Metchie’s “explosiveness appears back.”

    Advice: Metchie’s pro career has been derailed by a January 2021 ACL tear and a cancer diagnosis in 2022. In offseason practices, the former Alabama star has worked in a rotational role with Houston’s first-team offense. He had 158 yards on 16 receptions in 2023.   • Ian Thomas standing out in Panthers’ passing game
    ESPN’s David Newton said Ian Thomas has “stolen the spotlight” at tight end during Panthers’ OTAs and minicamp.

    Advice: Rookie fourth-rounder Ja’Tavion Sanders was expected to be the Panthers tight end who would impress in the passing game. While that still may happen, Newton writes that in head coach Dave Canales’ “tight-end-friendly scheme [Thomas] has become a big target” at the position. The Panthers rank dead last in the league in tight end targets over the last four seasons, and Thomas hasn’t gone for more than 197 yards since posting a line of 36-333-2 as a rookie back in 2018. We’ll take this one with a grain of salt, but it’s possible the seven-year vet is the preferred tight end for the Panthers in 2024 if his strong offseason carries into training camp.   • Aiyuk and 49ers scheduled to meet with one another
    Speaking on NFL Live, Ryan Clark reported that Brandon Aiyuk and the 49ers were scheduled to meet with one another on Monday.

    Advice: According to Clark, this is a meeting . He also added that Aiyuk has taken contract negotiations with the team as “personal” over the last several months. Aiyuk posted a video to his social media account last week of him telling Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels that the 49ers “said they don’t want me anymore.” The team when it was reported they still wanted Aiyuk, but not at the price he is asking for. At this time, Aiyuk is set to play out 2024 under the franchise tag, where he’ll earn roughly $14 million. The veteran receiver caught 75 passes for 1,342 yards and seven touchdowns last season and could likely get signed to his desired contract by another team if the 49ers were open to dealing him. Clark said Aiyuk would prefer to remain with the team but is open to playing elsewhere if the team opts to trade him. We expect to know more about this situation in the near future.   • Excels during OTAs and minicamp
    Tucker blew by the Raiders' defensive backs during spring practices, according to Paul Gutierrez of ESPN.com.

    Advice: Granted, it's not unusual for small, fast receivers to excel in early offseason practices without tackling. The Raiders seem optimistic it will carry over in this case, with coach Antonio Pierce saying Tucker is a "different dude" who plays like "the biggest guy out there" despite being 5-foot-9, 185 pounds. Tucker opened last season as the team's fourth/fifth WR after being a third-round pick, eventually working his way up to the No. 3 role and then catching 11 of 15 targets for 170 yards and two touchdowns over the final four weeks. He now seems to be holding off Michael Gallup for that No. 3 role, but it probably won't come with too many snaps or targets in an offense that has Davante Adams and Jakobi Meyers at wide receiver and Brock Bowers and Michael Mayer at tight end.   • Tucker ticketed for more ‘multidimensional’ role?
    ESPN’s Paul Gutierrez believes second-year Raiders WR Tre Tucker has "(solidified) his hold not only on a roster spot but also on a more multidimensional role beyond speed.”

    Advice: 5-foot-9, 4.4-speed Tucker caught just 19 balls as a third-round rookie last season, though 11 of those came over his final four games. Per Gutierrez, he has been “blowing by poor defensive backs” and “stopping on a dime to run comebacks and outs.” He’s caught the attention of coach Antonio Pierce. “Tre Tucker, different dude,” Pierce gushed. “Looks different. Acts different. Runs different. Catches the ball different. Don’t look at the size; don’t mention that. Watch him play. He’s the biggest guy out there.” Tucker is a distant third on the depth chart behind Davante Adams and Jakobi Meyers, but his No. 3 job certainly sounds secured.   • Beat: Jeudy could open as Browns’ primary slot WR
    The Athletic’s Zac Jackson writes, “It’s my belief that the Browns plan to open the season with Jeudy in the slot and Amari Cooper and Cedric Tillman out wide.”

    Advice: The Browns went out and acquired Jeudy from the Broncos earlier this offseason and signed him to a three-year extension soon after. Jeudy has lined up in the slot on 52.5 percent of his snaps during his career and played from the slot on 59.1 percent of his snaps last season. It also sounds like Tillman, a second-year receiver, could be in line for significant snaps this season, but the speedster was targeted on just 11.7 percent of his 358 routes last season. Cooper, Jeudy, and Tillman serving as the Browns’ primary receivers in 11 personnel could leave Elijah Moore on the outside looking in with regards to targets and snaps after he went for 59-640-2 in his first year with the Browns.
