• Tyler Boyd joining Titans on one-year deal
Titans signed WR Tyler Boyd, formerly of the Bengals, to a one-year contract.

Advice: According to Bleacher Report’s Jordan Schultz, Boyd can earn up to $4.5 million on his new contract. The signing of Boyd, a career slot receiver, officially puts Treylon Burks on notice. Burks already figured to be replaced on the outside by DeAndre Hopkins and Calvin Ridley, but with Boyd occupying the slot, the former first-round pick could be relegated to backup duty in the near future. Boyd also benefits from knowing the offensive system of head coach Brian Callahan, who worked as the Bengals offensive coordinator from 2019-2023. Boyd has slowed in recent years. He averaged a career-low 10.0 YPR on 67 catches last season and averaged the fewest YPRR (1.15) since his 2017 season. Outside of the deepest of leagues, Boyd won’t offer much week-to-week fantasy upside. Rotoworld 31 minutes ago

  • Finds home in Tennessee
Boyd and the Titans agreed to terms Tuesday on a one-year contract worth up to $4.5 million, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.

Advice: Boyd becomes the newest member of a revamped Tennessee wide receiver corps that added Calvin Ridley atop the depth chart in a huge free agency contract, joining DeAndre Hopkins and Treylon Burks. Ridley and Hopkins figure to operate as quarterback Will Levis' clear top two targets, as both exceeded 1,000 receiving yards last season. Boyd's experience could make him the favorite to secure the No. 3 role over Burks, though it's perhaps more probable that Boyd dominates slot reps while Burks sees more opportunities on the outside. In both 2018 and 2019, Boyd himself topped 1,000 yards, but in four seasons since took a clear backseat to Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins with the Bengals. Rotowire.com 35 minutes ago

  • Full recovery from wound expected
Texans Chief Executive Officer Cal McNair indicated Monday that Dell (leg) is expected to make a "full recovery" from what the team has described as a minor wound that occurred during an April 27th shooting, the Associated Press reports.

Advice: Though McNair didn't provide details on the nature of the wideout's injury, he noted "it looks like Tank will make a full recovery. We saw him in the office the other day and he looked good, in good spirits. But he'll have to rehab and get back to where he was." Per the report, Dell has recovered from a fibula injury that he sustained last December, but it remains to be seen if the 2023 third-rounder's participation in the Texans' upcoming OTAs will be impacted by the wound he sustained last month. Once Dell has recovered, he'll be in line to reclaim his role in a Houston wide receiver corps that also returns Nico Collins, Robert Woods, Noah Brown and John Metchie, and has been bolstered by high-profile trade acquisition Stefon Diggs. In 11 regular-season games in 2023, Dell made his mark as a rookie by recording a 47-709-7 receiving line, while serving as a key pass-catching option for ascending signal-caller C.J. Stroud. • Competition for QB2
Haener appears to be the early frontrunner to serve as the QB2 for the Saints this offseason, John Hendrix of Sports Illustrated reports.

Advice: Haener was suspended for the first six games of his 2023 campaign and has yet to make his NFL debut. However, the 6-foot-1 signal-caller should have a chance to establish himself as QB2 after New Orleans made several changes at the quarterback position this offseason. Last year's No. 2 QB Jameis Winston signed with the Colts in March. Meanwhile, the Saints signed veteran backup Nathan Peterman and fourth-year pro Kellen Mond this offseason before selecting Spencer Rattler in the fifth round of the 2024 NFL Draft. Carr is still clearly set as the starter, but the competition to be his primary reserve figures to be wide open this offseason. Haener's experience within the Saints' quarterback room should give him an immediate leg up on Peterman, Mond and Rattler. The 33-year-old Taysom Hill also is listed as a quarterback by the Saints, but he's better described as a multi-use player who regularly slots in at positions across the offense and special teams. It's highly unlikely that the team will carry more than three quarterbacks on the active roster during the 2024 campaign. Therefore, it will be worth monitoring how this competition shapes up during offseason workouts and training camp while projecting this QB depth chart. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:13 pm

  • Waived by Green Bay
Pitts was waived by the Packers on Monday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.

  • Cal McNair: Tank Dell to make ‘full recovery’
Texans owner Cal McNair said WR Tank Dell will make a full recovery from his gunshot wound.

Advice: Dell was struck by a bullet and sustained a “minor gunshot wound” while attending a private event in late April. He was treated for the injury at a local hospital and released shortly after. McNair’s words seem to confirm previous reports that the wound would not place either his rehab or 2024 season in jeopardy. Dell is working his way back from a fibula fracture in Week 13 a season ago but is expected to be ready for the start of the coming season. He’ll face additional target competition after the team signed veteran alpha wide receiver Stefon Diggs this offseason. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:12 pm

  • Officially lands with Carolina
The Panthers agreed to terms with Penny on Monday.

Advice: Penny is now 28 years old and spent last season in Philadelphia, where he appeared in just three regular-season games and was routinely a healthy scratch on game days. When healthy in Seattle from 2018-2022, he was electric with the ball in his hands, averaging a lethal 5.7 yards per carry on 337 rushing attempts, but an inability to stay on the field was his downfall. He has a history with new Panthers coach Dave Canales from their time together in Seattle, and Penny gives the Panthers backfield some more experience behind Chuba Hubbard and rookie Jonathon Brooks. There has been chatter that Miles Sanders' time may be running out with the team after just one season in Carolina. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:43 pm

  • Burrow ‘looked as quick and as athletic’ as usual
Bengals QB coach Brad Kragthorpe said Joe Burrow “looked as quick and as athletic as I’ve seen him look,” when asked about Burrow’s first day throwing since wrist surgery.

Advice: Burrow surprised everyone on Monday when he took to the field to participate in throwing drills, a moment captured by the team’s social media account. It was an encouraging step towards a return from season-ending wrist surgery, but Kragthrope’s takeaway from the workout is even more encouraging. The quarterbacks coach said Burrow “looked like the Joe Burrow we’re used to seeing” and that he “didn’t see any difference” in his throws, adding he’s happy with where Burrow’s at in his recovery. Wide receiver Andrei Iosivas also praised Burrow for “the amount of power” he has on his throws and said he “was slinging it and really putting some heat on those [passes].” With training camp roughly three months away, Burrow still has plenty of time to build on his recovery, but it sounds like he’s trending toward being ready for training camp. • Throwing at minicamp
Burrow (wrist) was on the field throwing at the Bengals' facility Monday.

Advice: Burrow's season ended 27 snaps into Week 11 last season, after which he required surgery to repair a torn ligament in his right (throwing) wrist. Earlier in the offseason, he stated that he expected to be fully cleared by mid-May, and it appears he's on track. Burrow should be all systems go well in time for training camp later this summer. His weaponry has gone a bit of an overhaul, with Joe Mixon, Tyler Boyd and Irv Smith jettisoned. Veterans Zack Moss and Mike Gesicki were signed as free agents to go along with returnees Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:35 am
