  • McCourty could be a candidate for release
Terry McCormick of TitanInsider considers Titans RCB Jason McCourty a candidate for release this offseason.

Advice: McCourty was passable at cornerback this season but is coming off a shoulder injury and is due a $7 million salary in 2017. Even if the Titans do decide to keep him, McCormick believes McCourty would "have to fight to retain his starting spot." McCourty has spent his entire eight-year career in Tennessee and might be amenable to a pay cut. Rotoworld.com 37 minutes ago

  • Eagles move Taylor Hart to offensive tackle
The Eagles have moved DL Taylor Hart to offensive tackle.

Advice: When the Eagles were in a pinch for line help late in the season, they asked Hart to try his hand at the switch. He apparently showed enough in few practice sessions to head into the offseason program as an offensive lineman. Hart wasn't playing on defense, so maybe the move will help him find a role. • Dolphins SLB Koa Misi a potential cap cut
Dolphins SLB Koa Misi is viewed as a candidate for release this offseason.

Advice: Misi is entering the final year of his contract, and the Dolphins can save $4.2 million against the cap by cutting him. It seems like a no-brainer mover for Mike Tannenbaum and Co. after Misi missed all but three games due to a serious neck injury that was initially viewed as career-threatening. Misi is now expected to resume his career, but Miami is expected to re-do its linebacker group. Rotoworld.com Today, 9:26 am

  • Jets sign WR Hammond to reserve/future deal
Jets signed WR Frankie Hammond to a reserve/future contract.

Advice: Hammond was out of the league last season after being part of the Chiefs' final cuts. He appeared in 25 games for Kansas City from 2014-15, catching four passes for 45 yards while mainly pitching in on special teams. Rotoworld.com Today, 8:58 am

  • Chiefs do new deal with LS James Winchester
    Chiefs re-signed LS James Winchester.

Advice: Winchester, 27, has been the Chiefs' long snapper for the past two seasons. He had a trying 2016 season that saw his father senselessly murdered in an Oklahoma City airport shooting back in November. Rotoworld.com Today, 8:21 am

  • Carroll says concern over Prosise durability
Coach Pete Carroll admitted there are concerns about C.J. Prosise's durability.

Advice: "I can’t tell you that I'm not concerned about C.J.," Carroll said. "He had trouble through the offseason. He was unavailable to us throughout, and there was a groin and a hammy and a wrist and the scapula thing he had. He has to show it." Durability concerns are probably the one thing that could hold Prosise back from being an every-down player, limiting him to 12-15 touches. Rotoworld.com Today, 8:03 am

  • Sam Shields still having occasional headaches
Packers CB Sam Shields (concussion) said he's still having occasional headaches.

Advice: Shields suffered his second concussion in a calendar year back in Week 1 and ended up missing the rest of the season. It's a major concern, but Shields said he still wants to play. "I’m thinking it’s not over. I’ve still got more in me," Shields said. "I just love the game, man, and I feel that I can get back out there and play." The Packers are expected to explore cutting Shields this offseason. Rotoworld.com Today, 7:26 am

  • Ravens viewing Kamalei Correa as ILB
The Ravens now view 2016 second-rounder Kamalei Correa as an inside linebacker.

Advice: Correa was drafted No. 42 overall in last year's draft as a 3-4 edge rusher, but Baltimore quickly moved him inside last spring. The coaching staff said he lacked instincts and needs to dissect plays faster. Correa ended up playing just 49 snaps as a rookie but could replace recently-retired Zach Orr as the starter next to C.J. Mosley. Correa will certainly face competition. Rotoworld.com Today, 7:15 am

  • Franchise tag a possibility for Kawann Short
ESPN Panthers reporter David Newton considers the franchise tag a possibility for impending free agent DT Kawann Short.

Advice: There are a lot of directions the Panthers could go at defensive tackle. 2013 first-rounder Star Lotulelei is heading into the final year of his deal and will also be looking for a long-term contract. And 2016 first-rounder Vernon Butler may be ready to step up but could use another year of development. Letting Short walk isn't out of the realm of possibilities for GM Dave Gettleman in a deep draft class. Short is expected to ask for $17-19 million annually on a new contract. Impending free agent OLB James Harrison intends to continue his playing career in 2017.

Advice: Harrison turns 39 in May but remains in peak physical condition. "I'm not done," Harrison said. "I feel physically fine." Harrison was nearly an every-down player the final month of the season and into the playoffs. In the regular season, he graded out as Pro Football Focus' No. 8 outside linebacker out of 59 qualifiers. The Steelers would likely want to bring him back. Rotoworld.com Today, 6:22 am

  • Jesse James racks up 48 yards in AFCCG
Jesse James delivered five catches for 48 yards on seven targets Sunday in the Steelers' AFC Championship Game loss to the Patriots.

Advice: James was busy in the first half but only caught one-of-three targets for six yards after halftime. It looked like he had a 19-yard touchdown late in the second quarter but replay showed that James was down about one foot shy of the end zone. The Steelers would eventually settle for a field goal. James was expected to take a backseat to Ladarius Green this year, but as usual, Green couldn’t stay healthy. The Penn State alum won’t be worth drafting in fantasy leagues this summer. • Aaron Ripkowski has NFCCG to forget
Packers FB Aaron Ripkowski rushed three times for 11 yards in the Packers' NFC Championship Game loss to the Falcons, also losing a fumble.

Advice: Ripkowski's giveaway was devastating, costing the Packers a potential touchdown and giving the Falcons a touchback. A 2015 sixth-rounder forced into far too big of a role this season, Ripkowski doesn't have a fantasy future. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 4:07 pm

  • Jared Cook puts exclamation point on 2016
Jared Cook caught 7-of-12 targets for 78 yards and a touchdown in the Packers' NFC Championship Game loss to the Falcons.

Advice: Playing on a one-year, $2.75 million contract, 29-year-old Cook had something resembling a breakout, catching 30 passes for 377 yards in 10 games. His numbers would have been much better had he not missed a whopping six games with a high-ankle sprain. Praised as an essential element of the Pack’s offense by Aaron Rodgers, Cook consistently made plays up the seam. Headed back to free agency, Cook, of course, has never been consistent, and turns 30 in April. The Pack will undoubtedly try to re-sign him, but Cook’s ever-rumored "upside" could entice a team to overpay on the open market. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 3:37 pm

Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports confirms Steelers OLB James Harrison (shoulder, triceps, questionable) is expected to play in Sunday's AFC Championship Game against the Patriots.

  • Burnett a question mark for NFC Championship
Packers SS Morgan Burnett (thigh, questionable) is unsure if he'll play against the Falcons in Sunday's NFC Championship Game.

Advice: Burnett hurt his left thigh early in last week's win over Dallas. He's been unable to practice and is looking iffy at best. When asked about his status, Burnett said, "If I could tell you that, then I should probably play the lottery tonight." Kentrell Brice had his moments while filling in for Burnett last week, though he also dropped what should have been a sure interception on a deep pass to Terrance Williams. • Packers expected to release CB Sam Shields
ESPN Packers reporter Rob Demovsky fully expects the team to release CB Sam Shields this offseason.

Advice: Shields went down in Week 1 with a concussion that ultimately landed him on injured reserve. Cornerback is arguably the Packers' biggest need, even though they're one of the final four teams standing heading into championship weekend, but Shields is unlikely to be a solution to the problem. He has one year left on his contract, and Green Bay can save $9 million by releasing Shields. He's still just 29, but it's fair to wonder about his playing future after a serious concussion. • Carroll: Prosise needs to be more durable
Speaking at Monday's season-ending presser, Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said C.J. Prosise will have to prove he can stay healthy as a sophomore.

Advice: "He has to show it," Carroll said. The Seahawks' thin backfield badly needed Prosise's pass-catching ability as a rookie, but he was injured all season. He had a hamstring issue in camp, hand injury early in the year and shoulder ailment late. Prosise played 147 snaps across six appearances. The Notre Dame product turns 23 in May. • Jesse James piles up 83 yards in win over KC
Jesse James caught 5-of-6 targets for 83 yards in the Steelers' Divisional Round win over the Chiefs on Sunday.

Advice: With Ladarius Green still out with a concussion, James was one of Ben Roethlisberger's favorite targets. A Chiefs defense that usually smothers tight ends bit on a few deceptive plays from the Steelers, leaving James wide open for a couple big gains down the middle of the field. The 83 yards were James' most in a game this season. Green could be back for next weekend. Rotoworld.com Jan 15, 9:05 pm

  • Cook cruises to 104 yards in win over Dallas
Jared Cook corralled six-of-11 targets for 104 yards and a touchdown Sunday in the Packers' Divisional Round win over the Cowboys.

Advice: Cook struggled in the first half, grabbing just two catches for 20 yards and failing to reel in his lone end-zone target. But Aaron Rodgers never lost faith in his tight end and Cook rewarded him with a second half for the ages. The Cowboys bit on play-action, leaving Cook all alone on his three-yard touchdown early in the third quarter. But Cook’s biggest contribution to this game was a magnificent 36-yard catch with three seconds left in the fourth quarter. Rodgers was falling backwards as he threw a missile down the left sideline that Cook caught to set up Mason Crosby's game-winning field goal. Thanks to Cook’s heroics, the Packers are headed to the NFC Championship for the second time in the last three seasons. Rotoworld.com Jan 15, 5:35 pm

Injured Packers CB Sam Shields (concussions) was charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia this week stemming from an October 19 incident.

Advice: He'll go back to court on April 24. The arrest occurred literally one day after the Packers placed Shields on injured reserve with a severe concussion on October 18.
