• Continues thriving in second week
McMillan has been thriving throughout training camp and has drawn attention for his work ethic and attention to detail, Brianna Dix of the team's official site reports.

Advice: The rookie third-round pick has drawn praise from head coach Todd Bowles and quarterback Baker Mayfield, with the former singling out McMillan's intelligence and hunger for improvement while adding that "the receiving group loves him." The Washington product, who missed four games for the Huskies in 2023 due to a knee injury but was a 1,000-yard receiver the season prior, is capable of stretching the field and gaining separation but has also proven adept on choice and option routes. For his part, Mayfield has stated he's already learning that McMillan is also proficient in contested-catch situations, noting "he's going to make plays when the ball is in the air, and that's one thing I'm continuing to learn -- really, just give him a chance." • Getting more reps this summer
Nwangwu has taken more reps in training camp than in years past, but he's still a clear third on the depth chart at running back, Alec Lewis of The Athletic reports.

Advice: The veteran running back appeared in just nine games last season, dealing with a back injury that landed him on injured reserve early in the 2023 campaign. He had just five carries for 13 yards on offense. He's an impact kick returner when healthy, however. While he's not likely to get many carries behind Aaron Jones and Ty Chandler, it sounds like he could be next in line should there be an injury. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:21 pm

  • Misses time with hip injury
Carlies (hip) missed practice Wednesday, the Indianapolis Star reports.

Advice: Carlies, a fifth-round 2025 draft pick, is expected to transition to linebacker after playing safety in college, so any missed time in training camp could slow his development. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:01 pm

  • Making waves in camp
Tipton has drawn positive reviews from the New Orleans coaching staff for his performance during the team's early training camp practices, John DeShazier of the Saints' official site reports. "I think he's got the skill set," head coach Dennis Allen said of Tipton. "He's a smaller player, but he's got some real good quickness and he's a savvy route runner. He's got some football awareness, and so I think he understands kind of how to play the position."

Advice: An undrafted rookie out of Yale, Tipton has put his 4.33-second 40-yard dash speed on frequent display in camp, with DeShazier noting that the receiver turned in one of the highlights of practice Monday with a long touchdown catch down the sideline. Though Tipton already looks like a downfield threat, the 5-foot-11, 187-pound wideout will still need to show that his quickness can translate to underneath routes if he wants to separate himself from the rest of his competition for a roster spot. If Tipton continues to shine in preseason contests and earns his way onto the roster, he could push for the third spot in a receiver group that lacks much in the way of quality depth behind starters Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed. • Getting look from Cowboys
Hollins (shoulder) is scheduled to work out with Dallas on Thursday, Todd Archer of ESPN.com reports.

Advice: Hollins was on three different teams last season, ending the year on the Chargers' injured reserve list with a shoulder injury. Across 12 regular-season games in 2023, he registered 17 tackles (11 solo), including 1.0 sacks. Hollins will try to catch onto Dallas' training camp roster after defensive end Sam Williams tore the ACL in his left knee in practice Sunday. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 5:33 pm

  • Working out with Dallas
The Cowboys are inviting Muhammad for a work out Thursday, Todd Archer of ESPN.com reports.

Advice: Muhammad and other pass rushers -- including Carl Lawson -- are working out with the Cowboys after Sam Williams tore his ACL during Sunday's practice session. Muhammad began the 2023 season with the Colts' practice squad. He did not play a single snap after he was handed a six-game suspension Dec. 6 for violating the NFL's policy on performance-enhancing drugs. Muhammad's last full season came with the Bears in 2022, when he recorded 29 tackles (15 solo), including 1.0 sacks, and one forced fumble across 16 regular-season games. • Set to workout with Dallas
Toney will workout with the Cowboys on Thursday, Todd Archer of ESPN.com reports.

Advice: Toney will get a shot to prove himself to the Cowboys after being let go by the Commanders in April. With Sam Williams (knee) done for the year with a torn ACL, Dallas is in need of another option on the defensive line. Toney last appeared in an NFL contest in 2022, recording eight tackles (four solo) over 16 games with Washington. He spent the entirety of the 2023 campaign at home after being suspended for the year for violating the league's policy on gambling. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 5:23 pm

  • Making progress in recovery
Mixon (quadriceps) is making steady progress in his recovery from a minor quadriceps injury, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.

Advice: Mixon has been dealing with a soft tissue injury early in training camp and he's already been ruled out for the preseason opener Thursday versus the Bears. The running back is on track to resume practicing at some point during the preseason as he ramps up his activity ahead of his first season with the Texans. Mixon figures to get the lion's share of the workload out of Houston's backfield, setting him up for another productive fantasy campaign in 2024. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:17 pm

  • Reverts to IR
Butler (undisclosed) reverted to the Raiders' injured list Wednesday after clearing waivers, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.

Advice: Butler was waived by the Raiders on Monday after failing his physical. He spent all of 2023 on injured reserve with an unspecified injury, and he will do so again in 2024 unless he is let go with an injury settlement. Butler played in 15 regular-season games with the Raiders in 2022, recording 11 tackles (three solo) while playing 269 snaps on special teams. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:00 pm
