• Gets one-year deal in Buffalo
The Bills are slated to sign Valdes-Scantling to a one-year contract worth up to $4.5 million Tuesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Advice: Valdes-Scantling was released by the Chiefs back in February, and he now lands with another AFC powerhouse. Buffalo's revamped wide receiver corps, which lost Stefon Diggs via trade and Gabe Davis to free agency, could use a deep threat to complement Khalil Shakir, Curtis Samuel and rookie second-round pick Keon Coleman. Working as the No. 4 man on the depth chart could be an ideal situation for Valdes-Scantling to contribute, though if utilized only as a situation downfield target, he's more likely to slightly raise Josh Allen's ceiling than carry standalone value. Across 16 regular-season games last year, the 29-year-old compiled a career-low 21-315-1 receiving line. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 7:45 am

  • Straight line runner MVS signs with Bills
Bills signed WR Marques Valdes-Scantling, formerly of the Chiefs, to a one-year contract.

Advice: Valdes-Scantling, 29, who averaged 3.5 targets per game over 33 regular season games with the Chiefs over the past two seasons, will likely function as Josh Allen’s primary downfield pass catcher in the run-first Buffalo offense. MVS posted much higher Expected Points Added per target against Man Coverage last season (.38) than Zone (.09), and the Bills faced the most Man Coverage last season, so the team likely views him as a potential avenue to combat that defensive gameplan. MVS will once again occupy a boom-bust role in the Bills offense, catching passes from one of the game’s strongest-armed quarterbacks while Curtis Samuel and Dalton Kincaid eat up short-area targets. • Valdes-Scantling visits with Bills on Monday
Former Chiefs WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling visited with the Bills Monday.

Advice: Valdes-Scantling previously visited with the Chargers, ultimately leaving without a contract, and found himself in Buffalo Monday to visit with the Bills. Josh Allen and the Bills found themselves without a vertical threat following the departure of Gabe Davis, something that likely prompted the visit with the team following the NFL Draft. Even so, Valdes-Scantling failed to fully capitalize on his opportunity in Kansas City and would likely generate more steam than is worth in fantasy circles should he land in Buffalo. • Signs with Jets
El-Zayat signed with the Jets as an undrafted free agent Monday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.

Advice: The Eastern Michigan product caught 27 passes for 360 yards and two touchdowns during his final collegiate season in 2023. El-Zayat will now get a chance to compete on a New York depth chart that is 12 wide receivers deep at the moment. Rotowire.com Monday, 4:56 pm

  • Back with Denver
Dorsett signed with the Broncos on Monday after being released Friday, Aric DiLalla of the team's official site reports.

Advice: The wide receiver spent 2023 with Denver's practice squad, playing in two games and not catching any of his three targets. The 2015 first-round pick has just 21 receptions over the past four seasons with four different teams. Now he'll get a chance to stick with Denver on a depth chart that includes 12 wide receivers. • Broncos re-sign Phillip Dorsett
    Broncos re-signed WR Phillip Dorsett.

Advice: Dorsett was released by the Broncos late last week but is now back with the team after they waived two rookie UDFAs. Dorsett, 31, will presumably get a chance to earn a spot on the 53-man roster in training camp but hasn’t done much in the league over the last several years. He appeared in just two games last season but didn’t record a catch and has caught just 27 passes since 2021. Rotoworld Monday, 2:26 pm

  • Inks deal with Atlanta
The Falcons signed Drummond on Monday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.

Advice: The Eastern Michigan product was most recently with the Giants' practice squad, but he's now been given a new opportunity in Atlanta. Drummond's only in-game action came Week 5 of the 2023 NFL season with the Lions, playing a total of eight snaps and failing to record a single stat. Expect Drummond to compete for a depth role in Atlanta's wide receiver room as the offseason unfolds. Rotowire.com Monday, 1:45 pm

  • Latches on in Chicago
The Bears signed Swain to a contract Monday, Courtney Cronin of ESPN.com reports.

Advice: Swain spent time on the Dolphins' practice squad last season, but he hasn't played snaps in a game since 2022, when he suited up for three contests with Denver and one for Miami. The 2020 sixth-round pick will have his work cut out to compete for a depth role in Chicago's crowded receiver room. Rotowire.com Monday, 11:15 am

  • Bears sign Freddie Swain after tryout
Bears signed WR Freddie Swain, formerly of the Dolphins.

Advice: Swain was a sixth-round pick of the Seahawks back in 2020 and caught 38 passes for 502 yards and six touchdowns in his two seasons with the team. He spent time with the Broncos and Dolphins in 2022 and spent most of last season on the Dolphins’ practice squad. Swain didn’t play a regular-season snap in 2023 and has appeared in just four regular-season games over the last two years. He’ll have to battle for a spot on the Bears’ 53-man roster this offseason. In addition to Swain, the Bears also signed tight end Tommy Sweeney. Rotoworld Monday, 9:45 am
