• Considered day-to-day
Jennings (shin) remains day-to-day ahead of Sunday night's game against the Cowboys, Cam Inman of The San Jose Mercury News reports.

Advice: Jennings was inactive for the 49ers' Week 4 win over the Cardinals, but it appears as though there's a chance he could return to action this weekend. In his absence this past Sunday, Ray-Ray McCloud and Ronnie Bell logged complementary WR snaps behind Deebo Samuel and Brandon Aiyuk. Rotowire.com 4 minutes ago

  • Deemed day-to-day by coach
Coach Kyle Shanahan noted that Samuel (knee/ribs) is viewed as day-to-day as Sunday night's game against the Cowboys approaches, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports.

Advice: In the 49ers' 35-16 win over the Cardinals in Week 4, Samuel (who had been listed as questionable for the contest) logged 48 of a possible 55 snaps on offense, en route to recording three carries for six yards while not being targeted as a receiver. While there's been no reported setbacks for Samuel, Shanahan's comments suggest that the WR's practice reps could be managed ahead of Week 5 action. Rotowire.com 12 minutes ago

  • Day-to-day
Mitchell (knee) is viewed as day-to-day as Sunday night's game against the Cowboys approaches, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports.

Advice: Mitchell sat out the 49ers' Week 4 win over the Cardinals after being added to the team's injury report this past Friday, but it appears as though he has a chance to return action this weekend. In his absence versus Arizona, Jordan Mason logged three carries for 10 yards while working behind starting RB Christian McCaffrey. Rotowire.com 22 minutes ago

  • Will continue to play through calf strain
Coach Zac Taylor confirmed Monday that the Bengals have no intention of sitting Burrow, as the QB continues to deal with a lingering calf strain, Kelsey Conway of the Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Advice: When asked specifically if Burrow is going to start against the Cardinals on Sunday, Taylor replied in the affirmative, noting that he believes that the Bengals offense can operate at a high enough level, even given the signal-caller's current condition. Burrow practiced fully last week and approached the team's Week 4 loss to the Titans without an injury designation, so unless he suffers a setback at practice this week, Burrow will be out there again this weekend, though it's possible key wideout Tee Higgins (rib) could be limited or out versus Arizona. • Rejoins active roster
Thompson was elevated from the practice squad ahead of Monday's game against the Giants, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.

Advice: Thompson started the season on the team's 53-man roster, appearing in each of their first three games, before being waived Wednesday. The 27-year-old then re-joined the team via their practice squad Friday and now finds himself back with the active roster. The Toledo product has been more of a presence on special teams, with only 10 snaps played on offense and he's yet to accumulate any counting stats. Rotowire.com 46 minutes ago

  • Suspension officially over
The NFL reinstated Williams from his suspension related to the league's gambling policy Monday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.

Advice: Initially, Williams was handed a six-game ban to kick off the current campaign, but after the league and NFL Player's Association agreed to a new policy Friday, it was reduced to four games, making him eligible to return to action Week 5. Coach Dan Campbell spoke of Williams' role upon gaining clearance to play, telling Eric Woodyard of ESPN.com on Monday that "we'll see where it goes, and it's all about improvement." The Lions don't expect to give Williams a full complement of snaps off the bat, but he's in line to play some sort of role Sunday against the Panthers. His six appearances from the 2022 season included no more than a 24 percent share of offensive snaps in any given game, and while he was targeted nine times, he had only one 41-yard touchdown catch in addition to a 40-yard run, displaying the dynamic ability he showed off in 2021 at Alabama. • Dealing with bone bruise in knee
Pickett suffered a bone bruise in his knee during Sunday's 30-6 loss to the Texans, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Advice: The report notes that Pickett's injury could lead to a short-term absence, but adds that the door is open for the QB (who is also dealing with a muscle strain) to potentially play this weekend against the Ravens. That said, with the Steelers on bye in Week 6, it's possible that the team could elect to err on the side of caution and hold Pickett out versus Baltimore. If that ends up occurring, Mitch Trubisky would start in his place in Week 5. Rotowire.com Today, 2:31 pm

  • Kenny Pickett dealing with bone bruise in knee
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports Kenny Pickett is dealing with a bone bruise in his knee and could miss Week 5 against the Ravens.

Advice: According to Rapoport, Pickett is also dealing with a muscle strain, but still has a shot to play this week. However, with the Steelers heading into a Week 6 bye, Pickett could get two weeks of rest while missing just one game, and be ready to go in Week 7 when the Steelers return to face the Rams. Pickett’s status will be one to monitor throughout the week, but anybody relying on him in 2QB/superflex leagues would be wise to add Mitchell Trubisky as a contingency play. • Packers hosted James Robinson for visit
Packers hosted free agent RB James Robinson for a visit.

Advice: Since being traded to the Jets last October, Robinson has signed with the Patriots and Giants, and visited with the Colts — this is just since March. The former UDFA who totaled 1,414 yards from scrimmage and 10 touchdowns as a rookie hasn’t been able to stick on a roster since suffering a torn Achilles at the end of the 2021 campaign. Given his age (25) and how long it can take running backs to fully bounce back from his injury, it’s possible Robinson eventually lands on a 53-man roster. Perhaps that’s with the Packers, who have looked glaringly thin behind Aaron Jones, as AJ Dillon has gotten off to a painfully slow start to his season. NBCSportsEDGE.com Today, 2:23 pm
