  • Julio (hamstring) designated to return from IR
Titans designated Julio Jones (hamstring) to return from injured reserve.

Advice: The last we saw Julio, he caught four passes for 35 yards in a Week 7 win over the Rams. He's been on injured reserve since November 13 with a hamstring injury that seemingly never heals. Besides a 128-yard outing against the Seahawks in Week 2, Jones has offered exceedingly little fantasy production. In a Tennessee offense with the NFL's lowest pass rate over expectation, Jones is at best a low-end WR3 option in Week 14 against the Jaguars. The team could hold him out until the following week against the Steelers.  NBCSportsEDGE.com 18 minutes ago

  • Jake Fromm era begins: Jones 'likely' out vs. LAC
SNY's Ralph Vacchiano reports Daniel Jones (neck) is likely out for Week 14 against the Chargers.

Advice: Jones, who has not been cleared for contact after missing practice last week and the Giants' Week 13 loss to Miami, might see a specialist for his neck strain. The injury is expected to keep him sidelined for several weeks. Meanwhile, Mike Glennon suffered a concussion against the Dolphins, leaving Jake Fromm -- who signed with the Giants last week -- as the team's likely Week 14 starter against LA. It's a disastrous end to a disastrous season for Big Blue. Every fantasy-relevant Giant should be downgraded if Fromm is under center.  NBCSportsEDGE.com 22 minutes ago

  • PIT to run Ben-centric offense down the stretch?
The Athletic's Mark Kaboly said the Steelers should operate a pass-heavy offense for the remainder of the season.

Advice: Gone are the days of Steelers beat writers pining for an ultra-run heavy Pittsburgh offense that would somehow mask Roethlisberger's deficiencies. Najee Harris has proven ineffective behind a porous Steelers offensive line, and offensive coordinator Matt Canada's pre-snap motion usage isn't fooling anyone. The Pittsburgh offense never looked better this year than it did in the second half of their Week 13 comeback win against Baltimore, when Roethlisberger conducted a fast-paced muddle-huddle offense, with every play using shotgun or pistol formation. Roethlisberger shredded the Baltimore secondary with that approach, finding Diontae Johnson for two fourth quarter touchdowns. "The Steelers are at the point of the season where this is their best way to approach their offense," Kaboly said. "Say what you want about Roethlisberger getting his way and such, but when it works as it did against the Ravens, it had to be revisited." A continuation of their Week 13 approach would be a boon for Johnson and Chase Claypool. Harris could still get their with his pass-catching work, though his 25-carry days might be limited as the Steelers make a run at the postseason.  NBCSportsEDGE.com 46 minutes ago

  • Jets sign K Eddy Pineiro after Kessman collapses
    Jets signed K Eddy Pineiro.

Advice: The Jets will keep changing kickers until morale improves. In his first game as New York's kicker, Alex Kessman shanked two extra points in the Jets' Week 13 loss to the Eagles. There was no way Kessman was going to get another shot in Week 14 against the Saints. The veteran Pineiro made 82.1 percent of his field goal tries in 2019 for Chicago. Jeff Wilson did not see a carry in the 49ers' Week 13 loss to the Seahawks.

Advice: There's no room for Wilson in the Elijah Mitchell Show. • Sutton has 11% target share with Jeudy in lineup
Courtland Sutton has an 11 percent target share with Jerry Jeudy in the Denver lineup this season.

Advice: Sutton has fallen from fantasy relevance since Jeudy returned from an ankle injury that kept him sidelined for most of the season's first half. With Jeudy out of the lineup, Courtland became a target monster, commanding a 25.7 percent target share in the Broncos' balanced offense. Sutton from Week 2 to Week 7 was fantasy's tenth highest scoring receiver, ahead of highly productive WRs like Justin Jefferson and Chris Godwin. Since Week 8, when Jeudy returned from his ankle injury, Sutton is outside the top-100 highest scoring receivers. His deep ball targets have dried up: In the season's first half, Sutton led the NFL in targets of more than 20 yards downfield (19). From Week 8-13, he's seen the 29th most downfield targets (5). The bleakness knows no ends. Sutton can't be regarded as anything more than a WR4/5 in Week 14 against the Lions.  NBCSportsEDGE.com Today, 8:15 am

Deon Jackson had six rushes for 19 yards and a touchdown in the Colts' Week 13 win against the Texans.

Advice: Jackson, an undrafted free agent out of Duke, saw cleanup duty in the Colts' blowout victory over Houston. Trent Sherfield caught 2-of-5 targets for 16 yards in the 49ers' Week 13 loss to the Seahawks.

Advice: Jauan Jennings was reportedly going to serve as the WR2 with Deebo Samuel sidelined, but that honor went to Sherfield, who played 98 percent of the snaps on his way to the third-most targets on the team. Jauan Jennings hauled in his only target for eight yards in the 49ers' Week 13 loss to the Seahawks.

Advice: Jennings was allegedly going to be the 49ers' WR2 with Deebo Samuel sidelined, but he only played 50 percent of the snaps. Trent Sherfield, on the other hand, played 98 percent of the snaps and was third on the team with five targets, just one fewer than Brandon Aiyuk. Kenny Yeboah did not catch his only target in the Jets' Week 13 loss to the Eagles.

Advice: Yeboah got some second half playing time because Ryan Griffin -- who caught two passes for 15 yards and a touchdown -- suffered an ankle injury. Yeboah, a preseason DFS star who had 100 yards and two touchdowns against the Eagles in August, would presumably get the Week 14 start if Griffin is sidelined. NorthJersey.com's Art Stapleton reports QB Jake Fromm is "in line" to start Week 14 against the Chargers.

Advice: Mike Glennon was diagnosed with a brain injury following the Giants' Week 13 loss to the Dolphins and Daniel Jones hasn't been cleared for contact with a neck strain that could sideline him for several weeks. That leaves Fromm, who has yet to complete an NFL pass after being drafted with the 167th pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, as the team's presumed starter against LA. The Giants signed Fromm off the Bills practice squad last week. The last we heard from Fromm, he was caught sending racist text messages and apologizing to teammates and fans for his transgressions. Dede Westbrook caught 1-of-2 targets for -2 yards in the Vikings' Week 13 loss to the Lions.

Advice: Westbrook was third among Vikings wideouts in offensive snaps because Adam Thielen exited the game in the first quarter and did not return. Thielen is expected to miss at least a week. That would make Justin Jefferson, KJ Osborn, and Westbrook in three-receiver sets for Minnesota. • Igwebuike takes over pass catching role vs. MIN
Godwin Igwebuike had two rushes for eight yards in the Lions' Week 13 win against the Vikings, adding one catch for 13 yards.

Advice: Igwebuike took over as Detroit's primary pass-catching back with D'Andre Swift (shoulder) out. Igwebuike ran 26 pass routes against Minnesota to Jamaal Williams' nine routes. Williams caught one pass for nine yards. Courtland Sutton caught 2-of-6 targets for 15 yards in the Broncos' Week 13 loss to the Chiefs.

Advice: Sutton’s nightmare streak continues, as this marked his fifth straight game with two or fewer receptions. The Broncos struggled to pass the ball all game long – with the exception of Javonte Williams catching it out of the backfield and some garbage-time Jerry Jeudy – but this is a worrying trend for Sutton. • Roethlisberger has two fourth quarter TDs vs. BAL
Ben Roethlisberger completed 21-of-31 attempts for 236 yards and two touchdowns in the Steelers' Week 13 win against the Ravens.

Advice: Roethlisberger played better than the box score would indicate. He threw his best pass of the 2021 season on a dropped 37-yard touchdown to Dionate Johnson in the first half, then hit Johnson twice for scores in the fourth quarter in a comeback victory over the division rival Ravens, the most extreme pass-funnel defense in the NFL. With reports swirling that 2021 will be Roethlisberger's last in Pittsburgh, the Steelers will have some "win one for the Gipper" energy over the regular season's final four weeks. Davis Mills completed 6-of-14 passes for 49 yards in the Texans 31-0 Week 13 loss to the Colts.

  • Schefter: Ben done in Pittsburgh after 2021
ESPN's Adam Schefter reports Ben Roethlisberger "privately has told former teammates and some within the organization that he expects this to be his final season playing quarterback for the Steelers."

Advice: The rapidly declining Roethlisberger was never likely to play another season for the Steelers after he took a pay cut to come back for one more run at a championship this year. Schefter's reporting insinuates Roethlisberger might not retire but seek to continue his NFL career with another (quarterback-needy) franchise. With zero mobility and fledgling arm strength at 39 years old, Roethlisberger would do well to call it a career, even if the Steelers make the postseason. This comes after Judge and offensive coordinator Freddie Kitchens expressed optimism Jones would practice this week and suit up against Miami. Mike Glennon will take over for Jones, making the Dolphins the week's premiere defensive option in fantasy leagues. NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports suffered a strained neck in Sunday's win over the Eagles and is unlikely to start Week 13 against the Dolphins.

Advice: Ouch. This explains why the Giants poached Jake Fromm from the Bills' practice squad earlier Tuesday. Jones' injury occurred on the second play from scrimmage in Week 12 when he was hit on a slide. He finished the game on Sunday but should be considered week to week while he recovers. Mike Glennon is now poised to start against the Dolphins' resurgent defense with Fromm serving as the backup. Needless to say, it's a disastrous situation for the G-Men's injury-ravaged skill corps. • Beat: Without Deebo, Jennings would be SF's WR2
The Athletic's Matt Barrows said Jauan Jennings would be the 49ers' No. 2 receiver if Deebo Samuel (groin) is out for Week 13.

Advice: Jennings' playing time has spiked of late after minimal usage in the first half of the season. Barrow said head coach Kyle Shanahan's "trust" in Jennings has grown over the past month. The Niners being without their dominant receiver/running back Samuel would presumably make Brandon Aiyuk the team's WR1 and Jennings the WR2 against Seattle in Week 13. The big-bodied Jennings saw two red zone targets in last week's win against Minnesota, scoring once and narrowly missing another touchdown. Daniel Jones completed 19-of-30 attempts for 202 yards, one touchdown and zero interceptions in the Giants' 13-7, Week 12 win over the Eagles.

Advice: Jones was an effective game-manager, taking care of the ball in a low-scoring win. He did nearly throw an interception in the 2nd quarter, but the Eagles defender was out of bounds. But that throw had bounced off of Evan Engram's hands and the interception wouldn't have been completely on Jones. Jones also had a few nice rushes, including a successful QB sneak on fourth down. • Ben overwhelmed by Bengals defense in Week 12 loss
Ben Roethlisberger completed 24-of-41 attempts for 263 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions in the Steelers' Week 12 loss to the Bengals.

Advice: Roethlisberger saved his statistical day -- and that of his pass catchers -- with a fourth quarter drive while down 38 points to Cincy. He seemed to be out of sync with Chase Claypool throughout the game, resulting in a first quarter interception on a pass to the sideline while Claypool streaked downfield. Roethlisberger's weak throwing arm wreaked havoc at the end of the first half when he tried a late throw to the boundary that was picked off for a touchdown, essentially ending the game in the second quarter.
