    • Frustrated with negotiations
Aiyuk expressed frustration Monday with contract negotiations, although the 49ers remain interested in re-signing him at a lower price than what he's looking for, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Advice: Aiyuk posted a TikTok video in which he says, "they don't want me," in an apparent reference to the 49ers. Rapoport, meanwhile, says he doesn't think negotiations are "completely dead" even though there seems to be a big money gap between the two sides. While Aiyuk's post may add fuel to the fire of trade rumors, it's still possible the 49ers keep him in a contract year even if they aren't able to work out a long-term deal. He held out from June minicamp and may not show up for the start of training camp if he's still scheduled to play out 2025 under a fifth-year option for $14.12 million. Rotowire.com Today, 7:10 am

    • Aiyuk: 49ers ā€˜said they donā€™t want me backā€™
Brandon Aiyuk posted a video to his TikTok saying the 49ers ā€œsaid they donā€™t want me back.ā€

Advice: Thereā€™s a good chance this is a negotiation tactic by Aiyuk, who skipped out on mandatory minicamp amidst his contract dispute with the team. The veteran wide receiver is set to play out 2024 on the fifth-year option the 49ers exercised earlier this offseason, but he appears steadfast in his desire not to play without a long-term extension. Aiyuk caught 74 passes for a career-high 1,342 yards last season and found the end zone seven times. The 2020 first-rounder has strung together back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons and has been a focal point of the offense. However, the lack of movement on an extension, coupled with their selection of Ricky Pearsall in the first round of this yearā€™s draft, could be spelling the end of Aiyukā€™s time in the Bay Area. ESPNā€™s Jeremy Fowler reports that the 49ers ā€˜ā€™ to extend Aiyuk, ā€œbut the sense is things have stalled.ā€ Weā€™ll see what comes of this situation in the coming weeks, but with training camp a month away, itā€™s fair to say Aiyuk is a legitimate threat of a holdout if he and the team canā€™t agree to terms on an extension. • Jordan Love optimistic on contract extension
ESPNā€™s Rob Demovsky reports Packers QB Jordan Love is optimistic on getting a contract extension done by training camp.

Advice: Demovsky reports that Love likes to be in the loop on developments, so there is reason to think progress has been made on an extension. Love was asked if he thinks contract talks will pick up after minicamp and he responded, ā€œYeah, I think they should.ā€ Last week, Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst told Milwaukee radio station 97.3 The Game that both parties wanted to get a deal done ā€œbefore training camp for sureā€. After leading the Packers to a divisional round game, Love is now poised to earn an extension that puts him amongst the highest-paid in the game. Without an extension, he would make $11 million in 2024, but seeing extensions like Jared Goffā€™s $53 million per year, Love is poised to reach those numbers soon. Rotoworld Tuesday, 4:33 pm

    • Extension could come before camp
Love said Tuesday that he's optimistic he and the Packers will agree to terms on a new contract extension before the start of training camp July 22, Matt Schneidmanof The Athletic reports.

Advice: Love, who has participated in the entirety of Green Bay's offseason program, didn't go into detail about his ongoing contract negotiations, but he did answer "yes" when asked whether he felt a deal would be finalized before camp. The 2020 first-round pick is coming off a breakout 2023 campaign and entering the final year of his current contract, and while his attendance has been crucial for a young offense now working to take the next step, it's possible that Love would refuse to suit up for preseason action if he were still without a long-term deal come August. By the sound of things, though, he and the Packers may not be far apart in negotiations. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 2:35 pm
