  • Lands four-year extension
    Stevenson has agreed to a four-year extension with the Patriots, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

    Advice: Per Schefter, Stevenson's deal is for $36 million, of which $17 million is reportedly guaranteed. The move to extend the 2021 fourth-rounder beyond his current pact solidifies the Patriots backfield ahead of Jerod Mayo's first season as head coach, and with the team transitioning at the QB position, look for Stevenson and fellow RB Antonio Gibson to be key drivers of New England's offense in 2024. Over the course of 12 regular-season games last season, Stevenson logged 156 carries for 619 yards and four touchdowns to go along with 38 catches for 238 yards on 51 targets. As training camp approaches, the 26-year-old has moved past the ankle issue that cost him time down the stretch in 2023, with Stevenson's new contract terms reflecting his continued status as his team's lead back.   • Stevenson gets $36M extension from Patriots
    Patriots signed RB Rhamondre Stevenson to a four-year, $36 million contract extension.

    Advice: Stevenson said earlier this month that he thought he and the Patriots were “pretty close” to an extension. Now, the 26-year-old back is under contract through the 2028 season and set to lead the Patriots’ backfield under a new regime for the foreseeable future. Stevenson has rushed for 2,265 yards and 14 touchdowns in his three seasons with the team, adding another 121 catches for 782 yards and one touchdown. He averaged a career-worst 4.4 yards per touch last season, but the team is hoping for a much-improved offense with Mac Jones now gone and offensive coordinator Alex Van Pelt taking over. Stevenson could be challenged by Antonio Gibson for third-down touches this season but still profiles as an RB2 in PPR leagues.   • Could practice, team being cautious
    Hall (lower body), who has been sidelined at mandatory minicamp, said Wednesday he "could practice right now" but that "the coaches are really cautious," John Pullano of the Jets' official site reports.

    Advice: "I do all the walkthroughs and stuff we've been doing," Hall said. While he's been present for the offseason program, Hall has been limited to work on the side due to what coach Robert Saleh called "some lower half stuff." The featured RB said he feels "a lot leaner this offseason" and that his knee "feels a lot better" than during the 2023 campaign. He's set lofty goals for improvement during the 2024 season, saying his targets are to earn his first All-Pro and Pro Bowl honors and match the standard of superstar 49ers running back Christian McCaffery. Fantasy managers have similarly high expectations for Hall heading into Year 3, as he's one of the few backs commonly in contention to come off the board early in Round 1 of fantasy drafts, along with McCaffrey and Bijan Robinson.   • Eagles did not violate anti-tampering policy
    The NFL reports, “After a thorough review of the Philadelphia Eagles signing of Saquon Barkley, the NFL today informed the club that the investigation did not discover sufficient evidence to support a finding that the Anti-Tampering policy was violated.”

    Advice: The Eagles were facing fines and a potential loss of future draft picks if they were found to be in violation of the anti-tampering policy. In a statement released by the league, the NFL said, “In coming to this conclusion, the league reviewed phone logs, text messages and other documents related to Philadelphia’s free agency strategy and decision to sign Barkley. The NFL also interviewed several members of the organization, including Howie Roseman and Nick Sirianni, as well as Barkley and Penn State head coach James Franklin. As with every review, should new evidence be uncovered, the league may reopen the investigation.” It took nearly two months for the league to thoroughly investigate the matter, so we wouldn’t expect anything new to pop up.   • Not practicing at minicamp
    Hall (lower body) won't practice Tuesday, Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic reports.

    Advice: Hall missed some OTA practices in May and now will sit out the first day of June minicamp. There's been no indication of a serious injury, but it'll be something to keep an eye on ahead of training camp in late July. With Hall absent Tuesday, rookies Braelon Allen and Isaiah Davis should have opportunities to work with the first-team offense as they continue their competition for the No. 2 running back role.
