• Cyril Grayson officially draws limited tag
Bucs WR Cyril Grayson (hamstring) is questionable for the Divisional Round against the Rams.

Advice: Inactive for the opening round, Grayson sat out both Wednesday and Thursday, but he got in a limited session on Friday. With Breshad Perriman (hip) already ruled out, Grayson returning would be a positive for Tampa Bay.  NBCSportsEDGE.com Yesterday, 6:30 pm

  • Jameis Winston (knee) could miss start of camp
Jameis Winston (knee surgery) could be sidelined into training camp.

Advice: This would impact the free agent market for Winston, who went 5-2 as a starter before landing on season-ending IR. With Taysom Hill getting extended in November, there are doubts whether Winston will re-sign with the Saints. One of the top quarterbacks in this year's free agent class, Winston is unlikely to accept a team-friendly deal after settling for a one-year, $5.5 million contract. The Steelers had Winston interest last offseason and are a potential landing spot with Ben Roethlisberger retiring. NBCSportsEDGE.com Yesterday, 5:39 pm

  • Goff in Lions 'long-term' plans at quarterback?
MLive’s Kyle Meinke believes Jared Goff “might have played himself into the conversation” as Detroit’s long-term quarterback.

Advice: Goff set team records despite missing three games in his first year in Detroit, throwing for 3,245 yards, a 19:8 TD/INT ratio and 91.5 passer rating. Most of that came down the stretch — Goff’s rating spiked 15 points (107.1) and he completed 72% of his passes in his final five games after coach Dan Campbell took over playcalling. With a support cast that featured Josh Reynolds and Amon-Ra St. Brown as his top receivers, the Lions are warming to Goff as more than a short-term answer and could build around him rather than replace Goff with one of their two first-round picks or projected $25 million in cap space. Goff’s contract ($30.5M dead cap hit) sets up for at least two seasons in Detroit. The question is whether the Lions are sold on him as their franchise quarterback. • Breshad Perriman (hip) ruled out against the Rams
Buccaneers ruled out WR Breshad Perriman (hip) for the Divisional Round against the Rams.

Advice: With Perriman out, Scotty Miller should have an increased role as in the Antonio Brown field-stretching role. Perriman wasn't excelling in that role, but he offered more than Miller has. Miller has a 0.42 yards per route run this season and is unlikely to be able to draw downfield targets. NBCSportsEDGE.com Yesterday, 1:36 pm

Buccaneers ruled out RB Ronald Jones (ankle) for the Divisional Round against the Rams.

Advice: Jones' absence sets up Leonard Fournette for a big workload against the Rams, provided his hamstring is up for it. Jones should be viewed as highly questionable to return for the conference championship game even if the Buccaneers win this week. • Official: King Henry activated for Divisional game
Titans activated Derrick Henry (foot) from injured reserve.

Advice: As expected. He'll play Saturday for the first time since he injured his foot in Week 8 against Los Angeles. Clyde Edwards-Helaire (shoulder) will play in the Divisional Round against the Bills.

Advice: Edwards-Helaire was a full participant in practice throughout the week and will be available on Sunday night against Buffalo. With Jerick McKinnon recently emerging for 142 total yards (including 106 yards after the catch) against Pittsburgh, Edwards-Helaire's role in the passing game is truly up in the air. The likeliest outcome is that McKinnon's receiving role sticks while CEH is used more on early downs and at the goal line. Both are in play for two/four-game DFS slates. • Rams designate Darrell Henderson to return from IR
Rams designated Darrell Henderson (knee) to return from injured reserve.

Advice: Henderson was quickly ruled out of the Rams Divisional round game against the Buccaneers. However, Henderson could be a factor if the Rams advance to the Conference Championship. Although, the timing of Henderson's return to practice would allow the Rams to wait to activate him ahead of the Super Bowl, if they make it. • Unhappy Jerry Jones vents about Amari Cooper
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones expressed frustration with Amari Cooper during a Friday interview.

Advice: Jones was highly agitated during his weekly radio interview, criticizing himself and the Dallas coaching staff but stopping short of promising major changes. Jones laid into Cooper, who in 2021 posted the second lowest yards per game (57.7) and second lowest yards per reception (12.7) of his NFL career. “Amari Cooper should take half the field with him when he runs a route. A whole bunch of that defense ought to have to honor Cooper. He ought to be able to catch it in the middle when they’re going with him. Others do," Jones said. "You throw to people that are covered all the time.” Cooper played second fiddle to CeeDee Lamb for much of the 2021 season, finishing second in target share (19 percent) and air yards share (26 percent). Perhaps Jones is frustrated neither Cooper not Lamb stepped up as a dominant alpha receiver in 2021. • Randall Cobb expects to play in Divisional Round
Randall Cobb expects to play in the Divisional Round against the 49ers.

Advice: Cobb told reporters this week that he could have suited up in Week 18 against the Lions. The veteran underwent core muscle surgery a month and a half ago and should join Davante Adams and Allen Lazard in three-receiver sets against the Niners. Marques Valdes-Scantling (back), who hasn't practiced since logging a limited session Tuesday, likely won't be active for the Divisional Round. Before his Week 12 injury, Cobb was targeted five times on his 13 pass routes against the Rams, catching four ball for 95 yards and a score. • RapSheet: Titans to activate Henry from IR Friday
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports the Titans on Friday will activate Derrick Henry (foot) from injured reserve.

Advice: The Henry Watch is nearing its end. The long-awaited move is expected 24 hours before the Titans play the Bengals in the Divisional Round, putting Henry in line to resume his workhorse role as the Titans make their unlikely Super Bowl run. Against a middling Bengals rush defense missing DL Larry Ogunjobi, Henry could return with a vengeance in Tennessee's run-heavy offense. • RapSheet: Barring setback, expect Lenny vs. Rams
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport said barring a practice setbacks, he expects Leonard Fournette (hamstring) to play in the Divisional Round.

Advice: Rapoport said Bucs head coach Bruce Arians held Fournette out of last week's Wild Card game against the Eagles because the veteran couldn't "open it up" on the practice field a month after injuring his hamstring. If Fournette is able to get through Friday's practice without a setback, he should suit up Sunday against the Rams. Whether he'll see his usual every-down workload is another question entirely. • ATL beat: Matt Ryan 'most likely' won't be traded
The Athletic's Jeff Schultz said Matt Ryan "most likely" won't be traded this offseason.

Advice: Ryan, 36, carries a whopping $48.66 million salary cap hit in 2022 -- an anchor around the neck of a franchise desperate to rebuild a depleted roster. If the Falcons ripped off the proverbial Band-aid and traded Ryan before June 1, they would absorb a $40 million dead-cap hit in 2022, an approach Schultz described as "the scorched-earth route." A post-June 1 trade would spread the dead money hit across two years ($24.9 million in 2022 and $15.6 million in 2023). Falcons owner Arthur Blank, Schultz said, probably wouldn't "bend" on dealing Ryan this offseason. Ryan was predictably mediocre in 2021, posting the third lowest adjusted yards per attempt (6.8) and throwing the second fewest touchdowns (20) of his 14-year career in Atlanta. With no splashy free agent QBs and no must-have signal callers in the NFL Draft, the Falcons will likely struggle through another season or two with Ryan under center.  NBCSportsEDGE.com Yesterday, 5:50 am

  • Franchise tag possibility for Mike Williams?
The Athletic's Daniel Popper believes the Chargers will consider the franchise tag with impending free agent Mike Williams.

Advice: That would cost over $19 million, but Popper believes the Chargers will end up somewhere in the neighborhood of $70 million in cap space. Splurging on Williams is something they could afford with Justin Herbert still on his rookie deal. Kicking the can down the road on a player like Williams — 27, big-bodied and prone to minor injuries — certainly would not be the worst idea. Franchising Williams once then letting him walk could be the best course of action. Signing him to a 3-4 year deal would also make sense after what was the overall best year of Williams' career in 2021.  NBCSportsEDGE.com Thursday, 8:00 pm

Advice: The assembled Bucs media was optimistic RoJo would get a "limited" tag after shedding his walking boot, but he was apparently limited strictly to rehab. Although Leonard Fournette (hamstring) remains genuinely questionable to return, it doesn't appear Jones has done enough to get in the mix if Fournette misses another contest. Packers activated WR Randall Cobb from injured reserve.

Advice: With Marquez Valdes-Scantling doubtful, Cobb will figure into the lower part of the target ladder with the running backs and Allen Lazard. Cobb is a wideout that Aaron Rodgers stumped to get in, so it wouldn't be surprising if he generated a decent amount of targets against the 49ers. Advice: Vrabel did add that the Titans have been adding more to Henry's plate each day, and that he has been "progressing well." Henry has definitely reached "barring a setback" territory for Saturday's showdown with the Bengals. McKinnon was used exclusively over Williams from that point forward, out-snapping Derrick Gore and Williams by a combined 51-14. Elijah Mitchell rushed 27 times for 96 yards and one touchdown in the 49ers' Wild Card round win over the Cowboys.

Advice: Mitchell didn't have the most efficient day, but together with Deebo Samuel, he allowed the 49ers to dictate the flow of the game against the Cowboys. Mitchell had two more rushing attempts than Jimmy Garoppolo had passing attempts, and it is clear that the 49ers prefer it that way. Amari Cooper caught 6-of-10 targets for 64 yards in the Cowboys' Wild Card round loss to the 49ers.

Advice: Cooper operated as the Cowboys' top wide receiver in some respects in 2021, leading CeeDee Lamb in routes when Michael Gallup was healthy. He also had a target advantage over Gallup. However, Cooper was far from a true No. 1 option for the Cowboys, and will most likely operate in a 1B role to Lamb's 1A role. That assumes that the Cowboys will build their passing game around their talented third-year receiver, which is far from a given. Advice: He was regarded as an interesting DFS target this week, but was targeted just once after the first two drives of the game and dropped one of his targets. Advice: Mitchell opened the week with a DNP, but he was elevated to a full practice Friday before being removed from the final injury report. Mitchell has logged at least 20 carries in each of his last five appearances and is averaging nearly 26 touches per game over that span. He will be a good bet for 20+ touches again against Dallas.  NBCSportsEDGE.com Friday, 7:37 pm

  • Breshad Perriman (hip) not on injury report
Breshad Perriman (hip) will play in Sunday's Wild Card matchup against the Eagles.

Advice: Perriman was limited on Wednesday and Thursday, but he got in a full practice Friday and was left off the final report. With no established receivers behind Mike Evans on the depth chart, Perriman makes for an interesting DFS play this week.  NBCSportsEDGE.com Friday, 7:33 pm

  • Lions GM: Goff 'played really good' in second half
Lions GM Brad Holmes credited QB Jared Goff for the team's improved play down the stretch of the season

Advice: "The success he had late — he had rough patches to fight through — I give him credit that he stayed the course."  Goff rebounded from an uneven first half, winning three of his final five games while completing 70% of his passes with an 11:2 TD/INT ratio. That came despite playing through oblique and knee injuries with the one of the league's worst support casts. With the No. 2 overall pick and the Rams' first-rounder, the Lions need to decide whether to build around Goff or draft his replacement this offseason. Goff's contract ($15.5M guaranteed) and late-year turnaround make him the favorite to return as Detroit's starter. NBCSportsEDGE.com Friday, 4:34 pm

  • Darrel Williams (toe) expected to play vs Steelers
Darrel Williams (toe) is expected to play in the Wild Card round against the Steelers.

Advice: With Clyde Edwards-Helaire out, Williams is in line for a significant workload on Sunday. The combination of Williams' passing game work and goal line usage gives him a higher weekly ceiling than Edwards-Helaire when he has the backfield to himself. Williams looks like a high ceiling RB2. If Williams is at all limited it would mean an increased role for explosive third-year RB Derrick Gore, to the delight of Twitter's highlight scouts. NBCSportsEDGE.com Friday, 11:27 am

  • Edwards-Helaire (shoulder) ruled out for Wild Card
Clyde Edwards-Helaire (shoulder) won't play in the Wild Card game against the Steelers.

Advice: CEH tested his shoulder out with a limited practice on Wednesday but was unable to return to the field to close the week and thus ruled out. At this point, there's no guarantee he would be able to turn around for the Divisional Round even if the Chiefs advance. Darrel Williams, who coach Andy Reid said is expected to play, averaged 13.8 carries and 5 targets in six full games without CEH earlier this year and will be used as a bell-cow once again on Sunday night. • Cyril Grayson (hamstring) ruled out for Wild Card
Buccaneers WR Cyril Grayson (hamstring) won't play in the Wild Card game against the Eagles.

Advice: It's another man down for the Bucs, who will already be without Chris Godwin (torn ACL) and Antonio Brown (quit) on Sunday. Mike Evans, Tyler Johnson, and Breshad Perriman will likely stay on the field in 11 personnel without Grayson available. NBCSportsEDGE.com Friday, 11:17 am

  • Fournette 'the most questionable' game-time call
Buccaneers coach Bruce Arians said Leonard Fournette (hamstring) is "the most questionable" of game-time decisions for the Wild Card round against the Eagles.

Advice: Fournette's participation at practice this week is unclear since he's still in the 21-day window to return from injured reserve, so the team isn’t required to list his status. Truly a game-time decision, it's questionable whether he'll be at full strength for his former bell-cow role even if he's active. With Ronald Jones (ankle) already ruled out, Ke'Shawn Vaughn and Le'Veon Bell would step up to the plate if Fournette can't go. NBCSportsEDGE.com Friday, 10:54 am

  • Ronald Jones (ankle) ruled out for Wild Card
Ronald Jones (ankle) won't play in the Wild Card round against the Eagles.

Advice: Although this was expected, it's grimmacing news since Leonard Fournette (hamstring) is considered a true game-time decision. Ke'Shawn Vaughn and Le'Veon Bell would step in as co-starters if Fournette can't go. NBCSportsEDGE.com Friday, 10:54 am

  • Edwards-Helaire (shoulder) misses Friday practice
The Athletic's Sam McDowell said Clyde Edwards-Helaire (shoulder) was not at Friday's practice.

Advice: It's a major concern following a potential setback with his lingering shoulder injury. CEH was downgraded to a DNP on Thursday and will likely log another DNP on Friday. Darrel Williams -- he he can play through a toe injury -- would retain workhorse duties if CEH is out for Sunday night against the Steelers. Derrick Gore would be the team's default RB1 if Edwards-Helaire and Williams are sidelined for the team's Wild Card tilt.  NBCSportsEDGE.com Friday, 9:59 am

  • Elijah Mitchell (knee) back at practice, limited
Elijah Mitchell (knee) returned to 49ers practice Thursday, getting in a "limited" session.

Advice: The 49ers are on the record as expecting Mitchell to suit up against the Cowboys on Sunday. They are just managing his reps after his injury-plagued second half of the season. A workhorse any time he is part of the 46-man roster, Mitchell can be counted on for at least 15-20 touches in Dallas.  NBCSportsEDGE.com Thursday, 4:32 pm

  • Ronald Jones (ankle) remains sidelined Thursday
Ronald Jones (ankle) remained sidelined for Thursday's practice.

Advice: Coach Bruce Arians has already dubbed Jones as doubtful for Sunday's Wild Card contest with the Bucs. With Leonard Fournette (hamstring) back in action, RoJo would only be in line for a handful of touches were he to be cleared.  NBCSportsEDGE.com Thursday, 10:37 am

  • Darrel Williams (toe) practicing again on Thursday
Darrel Williams (toe) is practicing again on Thursday.

Advice: Williams was "limited" on Wednesday, and will likely remain so for Thursday. His continued participation comes as Clyde Edwards-Helaire was downgraded from "limited" to "DNP" Thursday. Williams could be needed to carry the load against the Steelers on Sunday evening, but CEH's status is genuinely uncertain. It is possible the Chiefs are being careful with his reps after such a long layoff. We will hopefully know more by the time official game designations are issued on Friday.  NBCSportsEDGE.com Thursday, 10:17 am

  • CEH absent from portion of practice open to media
Clyde Edwards-Helaire (shoulder) officially did not participate during Thursday's practice.

Advice: This is a downgrade for the sophomore back after he got his week off on the right foot with a "limited" session on Wednesday. It is possible this is part of a pre-planned maintenance routine. It's also possible CEH's shoulder did not respond well to Wednesday's session. At this point, he should be considered genuinely questionable for Sunday night's game against the Steelers. Clarity might not be coming on Friday, where "DNP," "limited" or otherwise, he should earn a "Q" tag for the Wild Card Round. • Breshad Perriman (hip) LP on Wednesday
Breshad Perriman (hip) was limited in practice Wednesday.

Advice: Injuries and a mid-game retirement have left the Bucs short-handed at receiver this year. Perriman signed with the team in November and has since moved into a starting role. He closed out the regular season with a 5/44 line on six targets. The limited status is likely nothing more than load management for one of the few remaining receivers with any experience in Tampa Bay. NBCSportsEDGE.com Wednesday, 2:53 pm

  • Elijah Mitchell (knee) DNP but expected to play
Elijah Mitchell (knee) did not practice Wednesday.

Advice: Despite the DNP, Mitchell is expected to play in the 49ers' Wild Card game against the Cowboys. Mitchell missed a handful of games late in the year because of a knee issue but returned for the final two games of the regular season. He carried the ball 42 times in those games. Clearly not limited by the injury, Mitchell's absence on Wednesday is nothing more than maintenance.  NBCSportsEDGE.com Wednesday, 12:19 pm

  • Darrel Williams (toe) practices Wednesday
    Darrel Williams (toe) practiced Wednesday.

Advice: The Chiefs' offense should be at full strength for their first playoff game as Tyreek Hill, Clyde Edwards-Helaire, and Williams were all at practice Wednesday. Andy Reid noted that they all "looked good." Williams will split the backfield with CEH if both are active for the team's Wild Card game against the Steelers. NBCSportsEDGE.com Wednesday, 11:36 am

  • CEH (shoulder) and Darrel (toe) both at practice
    Clyde Edwards-Helaire (shoulder) practiced Wednesday.

Advice: CEH suffered the shoulder injury in Week 15 and has been out ever since. With Darrel Williams playing well in his absence, it made little sense for the Chiefs to rush him back. Andy Reid said he "looked good" in practice Wednesday so we expect he will return for the team's WIld Card game against the Steelers. NBCSportsEDGE.com Wednesday, 11:33 am

  • Cyril Grayson (hamstring) doubtful for WC round
Bucs coach Bruce Arians said WR Cyril Grayson (hamstring) is considered doubtful for the team's Wild Card game against the Eagles.

Advice: The Bucs starting receivers versus Philly will be Mike Evans, Breshad Perriman, and Tyler Johnson. Scotty Miller should also rotate in for some reps. With Tampa Bay forced to look deep into their receiver rotation, expect Evans and Rob Gronkowski to be peppered with targets in the team's playoff opener. NBCSportsEDGE.com Wednesday, 10:13 am

  • Arians: Rojo (ankle) is doubtful against Eagles
Speaking Wednesday, Bruce Arians described Ronald Jones (ankle) as doubtful against the Eagles on Sunday.

Advice: Jones is doubtful for Sunday but Leonard Fournette and Gio Bernard returned to practice on Wednesday. Jones could return in if the Buccaneers make a run, but Fournette is in line for a workhorse role against the Eagles, and likely beyond. NBCSportsEDGE.com Wednesday, 9:51 am

  • Leonard Fournette (hamstring) returns to practice
Buccaneers designated RB Leonard Fournette (hamstring) for return from injured reserve.

Advice: Fournette's return was expected but is excellent news nonetheless. With Chris Godwin and Antonio Brown no longer in the picture for the Buccaneers playoff run, Fournette's ability in the passing game will be a boost for an offense that may struggle to be as efficient downfield as it was for most of the season. Fournette also offers a major upgrade over the Ke'Shawn Vaughn and Le'Veon Bell-led committee that the Buccaneers rolled out in Week 18 with Ronald Jones out with an ankle injury. Fournette will require a small leap of faith in playoff contents but shapes up as a high-ceiling PPR running back play. NBCSportsEDGE.com Wednesday, 7:42 am
