• Remains in Detroit
Sudfeld (knee) re-signed with the Lions on Wednesday.

Advice: Sudfeld missed all of last year after suffering a torn ACL in a preseason game against the Panthers. The 30-year-old operated as the team's backup quarterback to Jared Goff in 2022, and was competing with Teddy Bridgewater for that role last season before his injury. If he can make the Lions roster in 2024, he'll likely be the No. 3 option with Hendon Hooker behind Goff. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:59 pm

  • Lions bring back Nate Sudfeld
    Lions re-signed QB Nate Sudfeld.

Advice: Sudfeld served as Jared Goff’s backup in 2022 and had a shot at hanging onto the role last year. He was slated for a quarterback competition with Teddy Bridgewater until he suffered a torn ACL in a preseason game versus the Panthers. With Bridgewater retired, Sudfeld will compete with second-year quarterback Hendon Hooker for the backup job. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:41 pm

  • Joining Denver's WR corps
Reynolds agreed Wednesday with the Broncos on a two-year contract, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.

Advice: Per Garafolo, Reynolds' deal with Denver is worth a maximum of $14 million. The wideout, who turned 29 years old last month, is coming off a 2023 campaign in which he caught 40 of his 64 targets for 608 yards and five touchdowns in 17 regular-season contests for Detroit. With the Broncos, Reynolds will help fill the void created by the recent trade of Jerry Jeudy to the Browns. Reynolds will have a chance to compete with Tim Patrick (Achilles) and Marvin Mims for targets behind No. 1 wideout Courtland Sutton. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:32 am

  • Pederson wants Tank Bigsby more involved in ’24
Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson said Tank Bigsby needs to be more involved in the team’s rushing offense in 2024.

Advice: “We have to get Tank going, the bottom line. He is too good, that’s why we drafted him. I think early he had some ‘what is that’ type plays for whatever reason right or wrong. Again, in and out of the lineup,” Pederson said. “He is a young player that we’re excited about. Like we talked about last year, we take some burden off of Etienne [RB Travis Etienne] a little bit, keep him healthy for the remainder of the season.” Pederson told NBC Sports’ Matthew Berry last month that the team would cut down Etienne’s workload in 2024 after he racked up 325 touches in 2023 — more than any running back besides Christian McCaffrey. Bigsby was a disaster during his rookie campaign. He was benched for large swaths of the season after costly turnovers early in the year. Bigsby played just 141 snaps and had 50 carries for Jacksonville last season. The Jags, who took Bigsby in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft, seem intent on giving him another chance in 2024.

  • Broncos sign former Lions WR Josh Reynolds
Broncos signed WR Josh Reynolds, formerly of the Lions, to a two-year, $14 million deal.

Advice: Reynolds had met with the Ravens last week but went with the Broncos, who recently parted ways with Jerry Jeudy. After posting a 40/608/5 line in Detroit last season, Reynolds — a reliable possession receiver — profiles as an every-down wideout for Sean Payton’s offense. He could function as the WR2 behind Courtland Sutton unless Marvin Mims makes a leap in 2024. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:23 am

  • Harbaugh ‘can’t wait’ to ‘build up’ offensive line
Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh said he “can’t wait” to “build up” the team’s offensive line.

Advice: “April 2, let’s get it started,” Harbaugh added in an interview during the NFL coaches’ meetings. The new LA head coach talked up the importance of a solid offensive line in creating a consistent, productive offense. It’s a surprise to no one since Harbaugh has emphasized tough-nosed football everywhere he’s coached. The 2023 Chargers were graded by PFF as the league’s worst run blocking offensive line; they were 13th in pass blocking. It would be easy to interpret Harbaugh’s comments as a giveaway that the Chargers will take Notre Dame OL Joe Alt with the fifth pick in the 2023 draft, forgoing offensive firepower sorely needed after parting ways with Keenan Allen and Mike Williams. Just Herbert last season was pressured on 36 percent of his drop backs, which ranked 21st out of 43 qualifying QBs. Herbert completed 49 percent of his throws for five touchdowns and six interceptions when pressured in 2023. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:59 am

  • Cleared for football activities
Orthopedic surgeon Dr. Neal ElAttrache wrote in a letter to NFL teams Tuesday that Dobbins (Achilles) has received clearance to take part in football activities, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.

Advice: Dobbins underwent surgery for a torn left Achilles on Sept. 15, and he's a little less than seven months removed from his injury. The running back posted a video in late February of him running on turf and then a treadmill, so it would appear he's ready to take the next steps in his recovery. Since the Ravens selected him in the second round of the 2020 Draft, Dobbins has been dynamic when available, averaging a robust 5.8 yards per carry with 12 touchdowns in his 234 rushes over 24 games. However, his medical chart includes a torn ACL in addition to the aforementioned Achilles injury, so he may have to settle for a prove-it deal wherever he ends up. Dobbins is expected to begin visiting teams in the near future. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 3:51 pm

  • Report: Dobbins cleared for football activities
NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reports RB J.K. Dobbins has been “cleared for football activities.”

Advice: Pelissero reports that Dr. Neal ElAttrache wrote a letter to teams saying Dobbins has been cleared and looks “outstanding”. Currently a free agent, Dobbins tore his Achilles in Week 1 of the 2023 season. He was initially drafted by the Ravens in the second round of the 2020 draft, but has appeared in just 24 games over four seasons. Dobbins also suffered a torn ACL to miss his entire second season. The ACL/Achilles tear history will make getting a lead role difficult for Dobbins, but when healthy, he has averaged 5.8 yards per carry. Dobbins is expected to take visits soon and could make a comeback as a complementary option in a backfield for 2024. Rotoworld Tuesday, 3:44 pm

  • Takes talents to Pittsburgh
The Steelers and Patterson agreed to terms on a two-year, $6 million contract Tuesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Advice: With this move to Pittsburgh, Patterson reunites with offensive coordinator Arthur Smith, who he worked under the past three seasons in Atlanta. Patterson reeled off 1,313 rushing yards, 670 receiving yards and 19 total touchdowns in 29 games between 2021 and 2022, but his numbers fell off once the Falcons drafted Bijan Robinson. With the Steelers, Patterson will be in a similar spot as the No. 3 RB behind Najee Harris and Jaylen Warren, but the 33-year-old could have a big year as a kickoff returner under the NFL's new rules.
