  • Mark Sanchez taking his talents to Chicago
Bears agreed to terms with QB Mark Sanchez, formerly of the Cowboys, to a one-year contract.

Advice: He slides in as the No. 2 behind Mike Glennon. Unproven, Glennon is one of the league's worst starters on paper, so there's a chance Sanchez makes 2017 starts. The No. 5 overall pick of the 2009 draft, Sanchez has attempted just 109 passes over the past two seasons. The 30 year old is a mediocre backup. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 5:49 pm

  • Jets add Quinton Patton to receiver corps
Jets signed WR Quinton Patton, formerly of the 49ers.

Advice: Coming off a career high 37 catches for 408 yards, Patton is reuniting with WRs coach John Morton, who coached Patton the first two years of his career under Jim Harbaugh. Not an explosive athlete, Patton makes his name with competence and sure hands. He'll fight for No. 3 or 4 duties in New York. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 11:53 am

  • Chargers keep RB Branden Oliver
Chargers re-signed RB Branden Oliver to a one-year contract.

Advice: Oliver wasn't tendered as a restricted free agent. Recovering from a torn Achilles' tendon, the Chargers correctly assumed they could re-sign Oliver for less than the "low" tender of $1.797 million. When healthy, Oliver is a versatile backup who does a little bit of everything, but nothing at an above-average level. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 11:03 am

  • Julio expected to be 'full strength' for camp
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports Julio Jones (foot surgery) is expected to be "full strength" for the start of training camp.

Advice: Jones' initial timeline had him questionable for the start of camp, but apparently a more optimistic estimate has emerged. Either way, the superstar figures to be babied through the summer, and perhaps even held out of the preseason. The only goal is having Jones ready for Week 1, which he should be. • Bengals re-sign RB Cedric Peerman
Bengals re-signed RB Cedric Peerman to a one-year contract.

Advice: Peerman spent most of 2016 on injured reserve with a broken arm he suffered in the preseason. A standout on special teams, Peerman could get bigger look on offense following the departure of Rex Burkhead. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 9:13 am

  • Adam Thielen now signed through 2020
Adam Thielen's new deal with the Vikings is a four-year, $19.246-million pact through 2020.

Advice: The deal was originally reported as a three-year deal because Thielen had not signed his RFA tender, but it apparently was a three-year extension. Thielen will earn $6.746 million in 2017, and the value of the contract can reach $9 million per year via incentives. Even with 2016 first-rounder Laquon Treadwell on the roster, Thielen should be locked into the No. 2 job. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 8:01 am

  • Shane Vereen agrees to $1M pay cut
Shane Vereen agreed to reduce his base salary from $3.15 million to $2.15 million.

Advice: The details of the agreement are not available, but Vereen will likely be able to earn some of that money back via incentives. The Giants made it clear Vereen would return when they paid his $500,000 roster bonus earlier this month, but this move gives them some financial relief in the event he is not able to come back from tearing his triceps twice last season. • Seahawks claim John Lunsford
Seahawks claimed K John Lunsford off waivers from the Bucs.

Advice: Tampa Bay cut Lunsford when it added Nick Folk to compete with -- and probably overtake -- failed 2016 second-rounder Roberto Aguayo. In Seattle, Lunsford will battle head-case Blair Walsh to replace Steven Hauschka. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 6:11 pm

  • Giants: No interest in re-signing Victor Cruz
ESPN's Dan Graziano reports the Giants aren't interested in re-signing free agent Victor Cruz.

Advice: Cruz hasn't generated any interest since visiting the Panthers back in February. He may have to wait until after the draft to sign with a team. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 4:35 pm

  • New Vikings RB Murray has ankle surgery
Latavius Murray underwent ankle surgery on Wednesday.

Advice: Murray dealt with ankle issues in the second half of last season, but didn't miss any time. The Vikings were aware he needed surgery before signing him to a three-year deal. It sounds like this is a minor clean-up to remove bone chips. Murray will likely miss all of OTAs, but is expected to be ready for training camp. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 3:44 pm

  • Jaguars add pass-catching TE Mychal Rivera
Jaguars signed TE Mychal Rivera to a two-year, $6.75 million contract.

Advice: The second year of the deal is a team option. Rivera also had interest from the Jets and Colts. Jacksonville is a solid landing spot after moving on from Julius Thomas. Rivera could open the season as the Jaguars' top receiving tight end, but he is unlikely to have much of a box-score impact. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 1:50 pm

  • Tim Hightower visiting Redskins Wednesday
Free agent RB Tim Hightower is visiting the Redskins on Wednesday.

Advice: Hightower turns 31 in May, but he sat out the 2012, 2013, and 2014 seasons after tearing his ACL with the Redskins and experiencing complications. If he signs in Washington, it would be a reunion of sorts. Rob Kelley came on strong as an UDFA last season but fizzled a bit down the stretch. Matt Jones has struggled with ball security the last two years. This backfield could use a fresh face. Hightower is nothing more than a timeshare back as part of a duo. • Aiken, Dorsett to compete for Colts' No. 3 WR
In a Wednesday conference call, newly signed WR Kamar Aiken said GM Chris Ballard told him he'll be given a fair shake to win the Colts' No. 3 receiver job.

Advice: Ballard has no ties to former first-round WR Phillip Dorsett and likely doesn't care whether he's the No. 3 or 4 wideout. Aiken was signed on Tuesday and "was told there was going to be open competition in the receiving room." Aiken also seemed legitimately salty about being phased out of the Ravens' offense in 2016 after leading the team in receiving the previous year. Dorsett has shown very little in the NFL. We wouldn't be surprised at all if Aiken wins the job. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 9:59 am

  • Steelers moving on from DeAngelo Williams
The Steelers are not expected to re-sign free agent RB DeAngelo Williams.

Advice: The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette's Ed Bouchette believes that "ship has sailed." Williams did a great job filling in for Le'Veon Bell the past couple seasons, but Bouchette expects Pittsburgh to address running back in the draft and get younger there. Turning 34 next month, Williams hasn't drawn an ounce of known interest but could be waiting for training camp to sign. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 6:50 am

  • Free agent Mark Sanchez to visit Bears
Free agent QB Mark Sanchez will visit the Bears on Thursday.

  • Colts sign former Ravens WR Kamar Aiken
Colts signed WR Kamar Aiken, formerly of the Ravens, to a one-year contract.

Advice: Aiken led the Ravens with 944 yards on 75 catches in 2015, but he took a step back last season as the receiver corps returned to full health. With Phillip Dorsett struggling to make an impact, Aiken should slide in as the No. 3 behind T.Y. Hilton and Donte Moncrief in Indy. Aiken is unlikely to carry much fantasy value while everyone is healthy, but he will be a name to know on the waiver wire. Rotoworld.com Tuesday, 5:27 am

  • Mychal Rivera off to visit the Colts
Free agent TE Mychal Rivera is scheduled to visit the Colts.

Advice: Rivera met with the Jets on Monday, but he left without a deal. Not a dynamic threat as a receiver, Rivera is unlikely to make much of a fantasy impact no matter where he lands, but New York would at least offer a good shot at targets. Rotoworld.com Monday, 7:09 pm

  • Jets host visit with WR Quinton Patton
Free agent WR Quinton Patton visited the Jets.

Advice: It's his first known visit. Jets OC John Morton was Patton's WR coach for two years in San Francisco. His scheme familiarity makes him a potential fit in a sub-package role. Patton is coming off a career high 37 catches and 408 yards. Rotoworld.com Saturday, 1:49 pm

  • Aiken visiting Colts Friday, Seahawks Monday
Free agent Kamar Aiken will visit the Colts on Friday.

Advice: He'll meet with the Seahawks on Monday. Aiken got lost in the shuffle last year after leading the Ravens with 944 receiving yards in 2015. In Indy, he'd be a solid complementary option behind T.Y. Hilton and Donte Moncrief. Rotoworld.com Friday, 8:20 am

  • Mychal Rivera visiting Jets on Monday
Free agent Mychal Rivera will visit the Jets on Monday.

Advice: Tight end has been a black hole for the Jets in recent years, and Austin Seferian-Jenkins was recently hit with a two-game substance-abuse suspension. Rivera caught just 18 passes for 192 yards last year in Oakland while grading poorly as a run-blocker. He wouldn't be much of an upgrade in New York. Rotoworld.com Friday, 8:11 am

  • Vikes sign Latavius Murray for 3 years, $15M
Vikings signed RB Latavius Murray, formerly of the Raiders, to a three-year, $15 million contract.

Advice: The deal can void after one season. This signals the end of the Adrian Peterson era in Minnesota. Murray is a big back at 6'3/230 with very little wiggle. He's a straight-line runner who runs high and takes a lot of hits. Murray improved his pass-catching chops last season and finished fifth in the league with 12 rushing scores. Unfortunately, he'll go from running behind the AFC's best offensive line to one of the NFL's worst. Murray should be given every opportunity to handle lead-back work, but Jerick McKinnon is still in the picture. Consider Murray a volume-dependent RB2 and a potential overvalued reach in fantasy drafts. Rotoworld.com Thursday, 5:45 am

  • Niners to host free agent RB Tim Hightower
The 49ers will host free agent Tim Hightower on Thursday.

Advice: Like many of the free agents San Francisco has signed, Hightower has a history with Kyle Shanahan from Washington. The 49ers have addressed their running game aggressively, trading for C Jeremy Zuttah, signing FB Kyle Juszczyk, and now hosting one of the NFL's better No. 2 backs for a visit. Hightower totaled 748 yards and five touchdowns on 155 touches in New Orleans last year. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 7:57 pm

  • Thielen lands $17M deal after breakout season
Vikings signed WR Adam Thielen to a three-year, $17 million contract with $11 million guaranteed.

Advice: The deal can reach $9 million annually with incentives. After catching 20 passes in his first 32 career games, Thielen had a massive 2016 as the No. 2 receiver when he passed Charles Johnson behind Stefon Diggs. Thielen finished with 69 catches for 967 yards (14.0 YPR) and five touchdowns. He was scheduled for restricted free agency, and the Vikings placed a second-round tender on him last week. Thielen made it known he was preferred a multi-year deal. He should be locked into the No. 2 job, while 2016 first-rounder Laquon Treadwell will compete for snaps in three-wide sets. • Bengals open to re-signing Peerman
The Bengals are open to re-signing free agent RB Cedric Peerman.

Advice: The Bengals let Rex Burkhead depart on Thursday, and now have an opening at their No. 3 running back spot. The Bengals seem all but guaranteed of drafting a runner, perhaps as early as Day 1. Peerman is primarily a special teamer. Rotoworld.com Tuesday, 2:31 pm

Free agent Latavius Murray is visiting the Vikings on Tuesday.
