In a matchup that can only be described as a complete mismatch, (V) NE Patriots steamrolled Chicago Bears with a score of 140.90 to 116.66. The victory was sealed early on Sunday, leaving Chicago Bears in the dust. It seems like (V) NE Patriots's A+ grade was well-deserved, while Chicago Bears's D+ grade was a generous assessment at best.
Chicago Bears's best player, Ezekiel Elliott, managed to beat their projection by a measly 6.12 points, scoring a whopping 13.20 points. Meanwhile, their worst player, C.J. Stroud, fell short of their projection by a disappointing 3.92 points, scoring a lackluster 18.06 points. Can't win 'em all, I guess. Or in this case, can't win any.
With this loss, Chicago Bears's record falls to 9-4-0, while (V) NE Patriots's record improves to 6-7-0. Chicago Bears is currently sitting in 5th place, while (V) NE Patriots is struggling at 12th place. It's safe to say that (V) NE Patriots's victory was a much-needed boost for their morale, even if it won't do much to improve their standing in the league.
Looking ahead, Chicago Bears will face off against Tampa Bay Ducks next week. After this lackluster performance, Chicago Bears needs to step up their game if they want to stand a chance against Tampa Bay Ducks. As for (V) NE Patriots, they will be going up against LA Rams. With their dominant win this week, (V) NE Patriots should be feeling confident going into their next matchup. Will they be able to keep up the momentum? Only time will tell.
