Chalupa Batman fall to Blazin Joints in 134.20-101.29 romp
Chalupa Batman were unable to bring their A game, falling short of their projected point total, as Blazin Joints cruised to a 134.20-101.29 win. Chalupa Batman leapt out to a 26.20-point lead on Thursday behind standout efforts from Trevor Lawrence (18.33 points) and Foye Oluokun (5.8). But Blazin Joints held the lead the rest of the way, powered by T.J. Hockenson, who caught 13 passes for 109 yards and 2 touchdowns for 30.59 points, and DeVonta Smith, who caught 8 passes for 113 yards and 2 touchdowns (27.87 points). Blazin Joints improve to 7-9 for the season, while Chalupa Batman fall to 5-10.
Smith overachieved for the ninth time this season, scoring 27.87 points against his 10.33-point projection. In a 40-34 loss to the Cowboys, he caught 8 passes for 113 yards and 2 touchdowns. Smith ranks #45 among all fantasy players this season and will face the Saints next week.
Blazin Joints
Well, we do appreciate the confidence this past week, Blazin Joints. Fielding a player with negative points (Nick Folk) while still getting the win... talk about arrogance. All we ask is to please keep that flashy, show-off type of stuff to the regular season. Try it in the playoffs and we're toast.
Chalupa Batman
Unless Chalupa Batman wants to go diva-mode on us, then "not seeing many looks" is not a reasonable excuse this time around. As a group, our four pass-catchers (three WR and one TE) collectively received a hearty 31 targets in Week 16. With just 19 total receptions, this group may need to work on chemistry with their QBs.
