SMOKE earn win against Colonel Sanders in 104.65-68.35 blowout
SMOKE stepped up and beat expectations, rolling to a 104.65-68.35 victory over Colonel Sanders, who fell short of projections. SMOKE nabbed an 11.90-point lead on Thursday behind the Buffalo Bills defense (17 points) and never gave it back. Justin Herbert (279 Pass Yds, 3 Pass TDs) and Christian McCaffrey (33 Rush Yds, 1 Rush TD, 24 Rec Yds) led the charge for Colonel Sanders in the loss. SMOKE (1-0) will look to keep it rolling against Jr’s season, while Colonel Sanders (0-1) will face Ricky Bobby Jr. in an effort to earn their first win.
The Bills defense more-than-doubled their 6.17-point projection with 17 points against the Rams in Week 1. They allowed only 10 points, surrendered 243 yards, and intercepted 3 passes in the 31-10 win. The Bills defense ranks #1 among fantasy DEFs this season and will face the Titans next week.
The Buffalo Bills defense
Sunday Early
Jalen Hurts had a 54-yard pass for SMOKE, contributing to a 66.05-29.80 lead for the team.
Sunday Late
There were players with standout moments on both teams on Sunday afternoon, but after all was said and done, SMOKE emerged with a 97.95-68.35 lead. For SMOKE, Davante Adams had a 41-yard catch. Justin Herbert made the highlight reel for Colonel Sanders with a 23-yard touchdown pass and a 42-yard pass.
SMOKE
Hey, football is all about exploiting the mismatches. Thanks to stellar outings by Davante Adams and Michael Pittman Jr., our team really took that to heart this past week. We quadrupled Colonel Sanders at wide receiver (38.2 points to 9.1). Adams had 141 receiving yards while Pittman Jr. logged 121 yards.
Colonel Sanders
"Not seeing enough chances" shouldn't really be an excuse this week for Colonel Sanders. As a group, our trio of pass-catchers (two WR and one TE) were targeted a grand total of 21 times in Week 1. Those players should spend extra practice time working with their QBs, considering they reeled in only 12 catches.
