Roughnecks received a solid draft position, and they fumbled it away. Even though they had the No. 2 overall pick, they're projected to finish 14th in OklahomIraqis League NFC. While Christian McCaffrey and J.K. Dobbins are slated to combine for the highest point total of all starting RB groups in the league, Roughnecks are looking at a final record of 3-10 (2,233 points).

  • Trey Lance

Best Pick: What a nice mid-round value for Roughnecks, who selected Lance in the 8th round, about 16 spots later than his ADP of 95. Following a rookie season in which he threw for 603 yards and 5 TDs with 2 INTs in 6 games, totaling 81 fantasy points, Lance is projected to score 382 fantasy points with the 49ers. That makes him a valuable No. 1 QB for this squad.

  • Treylon Burks

Reach Pick: Do you know something everybody else doesn't? We're not sure why else you would draft Burks in the 9th round, about 17 spots earlier than his ADP of 131. Burks is projected to score 172 fantasy points this season with the Titans. Burks will slot in as the No. 3 WR for Roughnecks, based on projected points.

Draft Notes

  • Week 9 will bring on a case of the Bye Week Blues for Roughnecks, as they have four players on a bye (Trey Lance, Brandon Aiyuk, Albert Okwuegbunam, and San Francisco). Your Week 9 opponent, Dead Again, will have a full squad without any players on a bye.

  • Roughnecks won't have an easy path in OklahomIraqis League NFC this season according to projected records with a strength of schedule that ranks as the most difficult. But don't lose hope. You can't control strength of schedule, but you can control how involved you are. There are countless methods to improve your team during the season for managers who stay involved.

  • Roughnecks are leading the youth movement, compiling a lineup with an average of 3.4 years of NFL experience, ranking as the youngest group in the league. Demonstrating their commitment to youth, they selected one rookie (Treylon Burks). In total, there were 26 rookies selected over the course of the OklahomIraqis League NFC draft.

  • Despite openings on offense at QB and WR in the 5th round, Roughnecks drafted RB AJ Dillon at No. 58, filling the WR/RB flex position rather than a higher leverage position. They were the fourth squad to fill a flex position.

How We Grade

Draft grades are based strictly on teams' draft performances. This is calculated by counting the number of fantasy points teams are projected to score over the course of the season using their optimal line-ups. The grades do not take schedule into account. Because of bye weeks and other variables it is possible to earn a high grade yet be projected to finish in the middle of the pack. The opposite is also true. Bottom line: Fantasy Football is like the real game. You can draft the greatest talent in the world but you still need to manage your team every week to get the most out of that talent.
