Gotham City fall short of projections, lose to Paladins in 133.42-107.78 landslide
There's no easy way to put it, Gotham City dropped the ball, at least based on projections, as Paladins cruised to a 133.42-107.78 win. Gotham City took a 15.38-point lead early Sunday afternoon, but it was all Paladins after that. They were led by Kyler Murray, who passed for 400 yards , ran for 31 yards and scored 4 touchdowns for 36.1 points, and Justin Herbert, who passed for 338 yards and a touchdown and ran for 12 yards (16.72 points). The Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense (22 points) and Matthew Stafford (17.22) did everything they could for Gotham City in defeat. Paladins (2-0) will look to keep it rolling against Elena Delle Donne., while Gotham City (1-1) attempt to get back on track against Shroud of mystery.
Williams was one of five starters to overachieve for Paladins this week. He scored 15.1 points (7 Rec, 91 Rec Yds, 1 Rec TD) against the Cowboys in Week 2 to beat his 9.15-point projection. Williams ranks #29 among all fantasy players this season and will face the Chiefs next week.
Sunday Early
There were several players with standout plays for both teams early Sunday, but after the dust settled, Gotham City had a 53.78-38.40 lead. Devin Singletary had a 46-yard touchdown run for Paladins, while Deebo Samuel had a 40-yard catch. Meanwhile, Matthew Stafford had a 44-yard pass and a 43-yard pass for Gotham City, while Josh Allen had a 41-yard pass.
Sunday Late
Kyler Murray had a 77-yard touchdown pass for Paladins, while Justin Herbert had a 42-yard pass, helping Paladins to a 127.42-96.58 lead.
Monday
Robert Tonyan had a 22-yard touchdown catch for Gotham City.
Paladins
Hey, this sport is all about exploiting the mismatches. Fueled by great performances by Devin Singletary and Chris Carson, our crew definitely made that a point of emphasis this past week. We almost tripled Gotham City at running back (30.2 points to 10.6). Singletary had 91 total yards and a TD, while Carson logged 31 yards and two scores.
Gotham City
Registering only a couple of targets this past week, it seems like the starting RBs for Gotham City should work to smooth things over with their quarterbacks... and remind them to start checking down more often.
