Cervelo manage to beat Cooletsky in 68.12-44.98 blowout despite falling short of projections
Both teams failed to rise to the occasion, falling short of projections, but Cervelo did enough to get the best of Cooletsky, rolling to a 68.12-44.98 victory. Cervelo nabbed a 19.07-point lead on Thursday behind a standout performance from Justin Herbert, who passed for 236 yards , ran for 16 yards and scored 3 touchdowns (21.52 points), and never looked back. Gabriel Davis (16.25 points) and Evan McPherson (13) carried the flag for Cooletsky in the loss. This marks the first time this season Cervelo have beaten Cooletsky, after falling 98.09-67.6 in their last matchup. Cervelo will look to keep winning in the Championship next week, while Cooletsky attempt to bounce back and finish the season with a win in the 3rd Place game.
While catching 9 passes for 94 yards and a touchdown against the Lions, Kirk tallied 10.7 points this week. His scoring output nearly doubled his 5.52-point projection and was much higher than his 5.31-point season scoring average. Kirk ranks #75 among all fantasy players this season and will face the Colts next week.
Saturday
Jonathan Taylor had a 67-yard touchdown run for Cervelo, helping the team to a 36.02-2.45 lead.
Sunday Early
There were players with highlight-reel moments for both teams early Sunday, but it was Cervelo who claimed the lead, 59.42-22.70. Christian Kirk had a 26-yard touchdown catch for Cervelo, while Josh Reynolds had a 22-yard touchdown catch. Gabriel Davis made the highlight reel for Cooletsky with a 20-yard touchdown catch.
Sunday Late
Evan McPherson had a 58-yard field goal and a 53-yard field goal for Cooletsky, who trailed 59.42-37.50 after the late afternoon games.
Cervelo
The key to success in football is spotting the mismatches. We made that a point of emphasis by nearly tripling Cooletsky at running back this past week (15.8 points to 5.65).
Cooletsky
Welp, we can't really complain about a shortage of opportunities this time, can we? As a group, our pass-catching corps (three WR, one TE) were targeted a whopping 29 times in Week 15. Those players should try to get some extra practice reps in with their QBs, considering they recorded just 11 catches.
