Mustangs lose to The Shield in 86-62 landslide
There's no sugarcoating it, Mustangs didn't do their job, at least compared to projections, as The Shield cruised to an 86-62 win. There was very little drama in the matchup, as The Shield took a 38-point lead on Thursday behind a combined 38 points from Ben Roethlisberger (308 Pass Yds, 3 Pass TDs) and Justin Jefferson (7 Rec, 79 Rec Yds, 1 Rec TD). Davante Adams (24 points) and Austin Ekeler (13) led the way for Mustangs in the loss. This marks the first time this season The Shield have gotten the best of Mustangs, after falling 95-90 in their last matchup. The Shield ends the season on a high note, but they'll miss the postseason with a record of 8-6. Mustangs will also be home for the playoffs, finishing at 8-6.
Davis racked up 86 yards from scrimmage as the Falcons beat the Panthers 29-21. In doing so, he put up 8 points and nearly doubled his scoring projection, the highest percent increase of any player on The Shield this week. Davis will play the 49ers next week.
Thursday
Ben Roethlisberger had a 30-yard touchdown pass for The Shield to contribute to a 38-0 lead for the team.
Sunday Night
Both teams had players with standout moments on Sunday night, but after the results were tallied, The Shield had an 86-58 lead. For The Shield, Aaron Jones had a 23-yard touchdown catch. Davante Adams made the highlight reel for Mustangs with a 38-yard touchdown catch.
The Shield
Listen, The Shield, we do certainly appreciate the confidence. Rolling out not one, but TWO players with zero points (Dallas Goedert and T.Y. Hilton), while still earning the W... that's borderline arrogant! We just ask you to please keep that flashy, show-off type of stuff to the regular season. Try it in the postseason and we're done.
Mustangs
Well, Mustangs, Week 14's problem is fairly easy to diagnose. Starting Lamar Jackson in a tough fantasy matchup... let's try to play with a full deck of cards next time.
