Turning a bottom-half draft slot into top-half results is the sign of a great effort by the GM. Such was the case with Sharks, which flipped its No. 9 overall pick into a projected 4th-place finish in Ocean. Sharks are predicted to put up a total of 8,308 points based on the current roster, which would result in a 10-4 record.

  • Michael Gallup

Best Pick: What a mid-round value for Sharks, who picked up Gallup at No. 177, about four rounds later than his ADP of 129. Following a season in which he racked up 59 catches for 843 yards and 5 TDs, totaling 415 fantasy points, Gallup is projected to score 505 fantasy points with the Cowboys. That makes him a valuable No. 4 WR for this squad.

  • Baker Mayfield

Going out on a Limb: Are you friends with Denzel Washington? Because you must have had an "Inside Man" telling you to draft Mayfield in the 8th round, about two rounds earlier than his ADP of 125. Then again, maybe you're onto something. Projected to score 830 fantasy points this season with the Browns, he seems set to take a step forward from last year when he threw for 3,563 yards and 26 TDs with 8 INTs, posting 667 fantasy points. According to projected points, Mayfield will slot in as the No. 3 QB for Sharks to begin the season.

Draft Notes

  • Fashionably late? You became the last manager in the league to draft a wide receiver with your selection of Odell Beckham Jr. (No. 64 overall).

  • Sharks face a tough task in Week 7 when they have seven players on a bye, led by Ezekiel Elliott, Zack Moss, and JuJu Smith-Schuster. On the bright side, your Week 7 opponent -- Beefy Legends -- will also be confronting their worst bye week with six players getting the week off.

  • For the first half of the season, Sharks have one of the toughest schedules in Ocean based on projections with an early-season strength of schedule that rates as the 2nd-most difficult. In spite of that, for the full season, Sharks face a fairly balanced path that ranks as the 5th hardest.

  • In spite of open slots at QB, WR, and TE in the 4th round, Sharks selected RB David Montgomery with the 40th pick, becoming the 2nd team to make their first flex pick.

How We Grade

Draft grades are based strictly on teams' draft performances. This is calculated by counting the number of fantasy points teams are projected to score over the course of the season using their optimal line-ups. The grades do not take schedule into account. Because of bye weeks and other variables it is possible to earn a high grade yet be projected to finish in the middle of the pack. The opposite is also true. Bottom line: Fantasy Football is like the real game. You can draft the greatest talent in the world but you still need to manage your team every week to get the most out of that talent. As a wise man once said, "On any given Sunday..."
