Texasseans climb into top spot, 186.42-148.85
Texasseans climbed into first place in WDE Rumble 2K21 with a hard-fought victory over The Footballas, securing a 186.42-148.85 win. Texasseans earned a 50.33-point lead early Sunday afternoon behind a combined 74.95 points from Patrick Mahomes (278 Pass Yds, 5 Pass TDs, 26 Rush Yds) and Jonathan Taylor (103 Rush Yds, 1 Rush TD, 11 Rec Yds). The Footballas bounced back to take the lead late afternoon Sunday, powered by the San Francisco 49ers defense (28.5 points) and Jimmy Garoppolo (11.6). Unphased, Texasseans rallied later that night, as Ryan Succop (17 points) and Lavonte David (12.5) put them back on top once and for all. Texasseans (3-1) will look to keep it rolling against Pain and Suffering, while The Footballas (1-3) face The Big Gronkowski in an effort to get back in the win column.
Gesicki (5 Rec, 57 Rec Yds, 1 Rec TD) scored 17.55 points in a 27-17 lost to the Colts in Week 4. His scoring output nearly doubled his 9.07-point projection and was much higher than his 10.63-point season scoring average. Gesicki ranks #10 among fantasy TEs this season and will face the Buccaneers next week.
Sunday Early
There were players with big-time moments on both teams early Sunday, but it was Texasseans who owned the lead, 123.44-73.11. Patrick Mahomes had a 44-yard touchdown pass for Texasseans, while Jonathan Taylor had a 23-yard touchdown run. Ezekiel Elliott made the highlight reel for The Footballas with a 47-yard run.
Sunday Late
Jimmy Garoppolo had a 21-yard touchdown pass for The Footballas, helping the team to a 133.35-123.44 lead.
Texasseans
Hey, football is all about exploiting the mismatches. Fueled by a thrilling outing by Patrick Mahomes, we royally dominated The Footballas at the quarterback position this past week (54.35 points to 11.6). Mahomes went 24-for-30 for 278 yards, five TDs, and an INT in a 42-30 victory over the Eagles.
The Footballas
Ugh, talk about under-utilized. The starting backfield for The Footballas collectively logged three catches on only four measly targets this past week. Get those quarterbacks to check down a little more often in Week 5!
