Despite top scorer Jones, Winged Helmets 5 fall to PATRIOTS RULE in 199.64-195.89 squeaker
Aaron Jones had 38 points for Winged Helmets 5, the best total in the matchup and third-best in the league this week, but it wasn't enough to vanquish PATRIOTS RULE, who narrowly earned a 199.64-195.89 victory. It wasn't nearly as close as the final score indicates, as PATRIOTS RULE led 199.64-136.59 heading into Monday night. Winged Helmets 5 made it close behind Aaron Jones, who racked up 115 yards from scrimmage and scored 4 touchdowns for 38 points, and De'Vondre Campbell, who made 13 tackles and intercepted a pass (10.95 points). PATRIOTS RULE were led by Tyrann Mathieu (6 Tackles, 2 Ints) and Jalen Hurts (190 Pass Yds, 82 Rush Yds, 1 Rush TD). PATRIOTS RULE improve to 2-0 on the season, while Winged Helmets 5 fall to 0-2.
Against the Steelers in Week 2, Ruggs III scored 21.35 points to more-than-triple his 6.89-point projection. He caught 5 passes for 113 yards and a touchdown to beat his projection by the highest percentage of any player on PATRIOTS RULE this week. Ruggs III will go up against the Dolphins next week.
Sunday Early
There were several players with highlight-reel plays for both teams early Sunday, but after the smoke cleared, PATRIOTS RULE emerged with a 108.09-89.31 lead. Jalen Hurts had a 91-yard pass for PATRIOTS RULE, while Henry Ruggs III had a 61-yard touchdown catch. Meanwhile, Jimmy Garoppolo had a 40-yard pass for Winged Helmets 5, while Tyrod Taylor had a 22-yard touchdown pass.
PATRIOTS RULE
Hey, it's good to be confident, PATRIOTS RULE. It's a bold move to roll out, not one, but TWO players with zero points (Anthony Schwartz and Kyle Van Noy), while still getting the W! All we ask is to please keep those flashy shenanigans to the early regular season. Can you imagine how silly we'd look if we let it happen in the playoffs?
Winged Helmets 5
It's entirely possible that Winged Helmets 5 may be a better GM in the NFL than in fantasy football. Accumulating only 12 total targets in Week 2, their four starting pass-catchers (three WR, one TE) apparently made most of their contributions by blocking downfield and running decoy routes.
