Black Ice fall short of expectations, succumb to Run CMC, 134.84-110.13
There's no sugarcoating it, Black Ice underperformed, at least based on projections, as Run CMC secured a 134.84-110.13 win. Black Ice grabbed a 34.65-point lead early Sunday afternoon behind a combined 37.9 points from Mike Evans (7 Rec, 104 Rec Yds, 1 Rec TD) and Jonathan Taylor (101 Rush Yds, 1 Rush TD). But Run CMC held the lead the rest of the way, powered by Kyler Murray (33.14 points) and Christian McCaffrey (22.8). Run CMC (2-0) will look to sustain their momentum against Darrin's Team, while Black Ice (0-2) take on Raged Barbarians in an effort to get back on track.
Gonzalez (3-3 FG, 49 long, 3-3 XP) scored 14 points in a 30-15 win over the Football Team in Week 2. His scoring output was 48.9% more than his 9.4-point projection. Gonzalez ranks #4 among fantasy Ks this season and will face the Lions next week.
Sunday Early
There were players with standout moments for both teams early Sunday, but after all the plays were accounted for, Black Ice had an 86.35-51.70 lead. For Run CMC, DJ Chark Jr. had a 45-yard catch. Mike Evans had a 23-yard touchdown catch and a 50-yard catch for Black Ice, while Raheem Mostert had an 80-yard touchdown run.
Sunday Late
Kyler Murray had a 21-yard touchdown run and a 54-yard pass for Run CMC, helping the team to a 115.64-86.35 lead.
Run CMC
Football is all about creating mismatches. Thanks to a solid display by Kyler Murray, we doubled up Black Ice at the quarterback position this past week (33.14 points to 15.48). Murray went 26-for-38 for 286 yards, one TD, and an INT in a 30-15 win over the Football Team.
Black Ice
"Not getting many looks" shouldn't really be an excuse this week for Black Ice. As a group, our trio of pass-catchers (two WR and one TE) were targeted a hearty 15 times in Week 2. With just nine total catches, that group may need to work on chemistry with their QBs.
