SpongeBills hand Mad Flanders third straight loss in 147.42-145.40 battle
SpongeBills narrowly earned a 147.42-145.40 win to hand Mad Flanders their third consecutive loss. It wasn't nearly as close as the final score indicates, as SpongeBills led 147.42-109.70 heading into Monday night. Mad Flanders came roaring back behind Todd Gurley II, who ran for 57 yards and 2 touchdowns for 19.3 points, and Tyreek Hill, who caught 4 passes for 64 yards and a touchdown (16.4 points). SpongeBills were led by DJ Chark Jr., who caught 8 passes for 95 yards and 2 touchdowns for 29.5 points, and Dalvin Cook, who racked up 146 yards from scrimmage and ran for 2 touchdowns (28.6 points). SpongeBills (1-3) will look to maintain their winning ways against Joe Bidens nephew, while Mad Flanders (1-3) try to get back in the win column against Gridiron.
Cook was one of five starters to overachieve for SpongeBills this week. He scored 28.6 points (130 Rush Yds, 2 Rush TDs, 16 Rec Yds) in a 31-23 win over the Texans to beat his 19.8-point projection. Cook ranks #9 among all fantasy players this season and will face the Seahawks next week.
Sunday Early
There were multiple players with big-time plays on both teams early Sunday, but it was SpongeBills who claimed the lead, 119.32-100.80. Drew Brees had a 20-yard touchdown pass for SpongeBills, while Jarvis Landry had a 37-yard touchdown pass. Meanwhile, Deshaun Watson had a couple of 24-yard touchdown passes for Mad Flanders, while Antonio Gibson had a 40-yard catch.
SpongeBills
These types of narrow wins can be very important for team chemistry. Overcoming tough obstacles and persevering in the face of adversity... look for the SpongeBills locker room to really gel riding into Week 5.
Mad Flanders
It's entirely possible that Mad Flanders may be a better talent scout in real football than in fantasy. With just 16 total targets this past week, their four starting pass-catchers (three WR, one TE) apparently spent most of their games running decoy routes and blocking downfield.
