Hooligans top expectations but lose to Doughboys, 162.80-145.05

Hooligans outperformed their projected point total, but it wasn't enough to change the result as Doughboys secured a 162.80-145.05 victory. Hooligans earned an 8.1-point lead early Sunday afternoon, but Doughboys held the lead the rest of the way. They were led by Russell Wilson (32.2 points) and Mike Davis (26.3). Lamar Jackson (163 Pass Yds, 1 Pass TD, 124 Rush Yds, 2 Rush TDs) and Keelan Cole Sr. (7 Rec, 67 Rec Yds, 1 Rec TD) were the top performers for Hooligans in the loss. This marks the first time this season Doughboys have taken down Hooligans, after falling 115.35-115.2 in their last matchup. Doughboys will look to not lose that winning feeling in the semifinals next week, while Hooligans attempt to rebound and lock up 5th Place.

Coach Talk

Doughboys
Football is all about spotting (and exploiting) the mismatches. Fueled by some stellar yardage production from our running backs, our team really made that happen this week. Our backfield put up 118 more total yards than the RBs on Hooligans (298 yards from scrimmage to 180), and we wound up doubling up them at the position, 57.8 points to 28.

Don't get too distraught, Hooligans! Look, I've been at it long enough to realize that occasionally free points can just magically show up out of nowhere. Then sometimes, like in your case this week, they don't! Okay, okay; locating an extra 18 points for you this past matchup probably would've taken some serious wizardry.
