Unable to overcome starter's goose egg, WarEagle fall to SAWTOOTHS in 161.40-140.25 rout
Hindered by a goose egg from Corey Davis, WarEagle were unable to overcome SAWTOOTHS, which rolled to a 161.40-140.25 win. WarEagle pulled out to a 9.85-point lead early Sunday afternoon, but it was all SAWTOOTHS after that. They were led by Christian McCaffrey (69 Rush Yds, 1 Rush TD, 82 Rec Yds, 1 Rec TD) and Cam Newton (274 Pass Yds, 16 Rush Yds, 2 Rush TDs). Deshaun Watson (31.05 points) and Christian Kirk (23.1) carried the flag for WarEagle in defeat. SAWTOOTHS (2-7) will look to keep it rolling against Redlegs, while WarEagle (5-4) will take on Hooligans in an effort to generate some positive momentum.
While racking up 151 yards from scrimmage and scoring 2 touchdowns against the Chiefs, McCaffrey put up 37.1 points this week. His scoring output more-than-doubled his 18.24-point projection and was much higher than his 10.04-point season scoring average. McCaffrey ranks #100 among all fantasy players this season and will face the Buccaneers next week.
Sunday Early
There were players with standout moments on both teams early Sunday, but it was WarEagle who emerged with the lead, 97.55-87.70. For SAWTOOTHS, Ka'imi Fairbairn had a 54-yard field goal. Deshaun Watson made the highlight reel for WarEagle with a 77-yard touchdown pass and a 57-yard touchdown pass.
Sunday Late
There were players with standout plays on both teams on Sunday afternoon, but after the scoring was completed, WarEagle had a 134.45-113.60 lead. For SAWTOOTHS, Diontae Johnson had a 42-yard catch. Christian Kirk made the highlight reel for WarEagle with a 56-yard touchdown catch.
SAWTOOTHS
Way to shrug off that six-match losing skid, SAWTOOTHS! Every fantasy team is sure to be met with adversity at some point or another... keep on truckin' and good things will continue to happen.
WarEagle
Unless WarEagle wants to go diva-mode on us, then "not seeing enough opportunities" doesn't fly as an excuse this week. As a group, our six pass-catchers (five WR, one TE) collectively got a grand total of 41 targets in Week 9. Those players should try to get some extra practice reps in with their QBs, considering they pulled down just 22 balls.
