Hey Darnold! are not a team for the ages, but they could possibly sneak into the playoffs assuming things break the right way. After picking No. 8 overall, the team is projected to land in 7th place in Double Stuff Racing League. While Michael Thomas and Robert Woods are expected to combine for the 2nd-highest point total of all starting WR groups in the league, Hey Darnold! are in store for a mark of 7-6 (1,836 points) with the current roster.

  • Darren Waller

Biggest Steal: Hey Darnold! notched a tremendous mid-round value in selecting Waller at No. 80, about 19 slots later than his ADP of 61. After a season in which he hauled in 90 passes for 1,145 yards and 3 TDs, totaling 178 fantasy points, Waller is projected to score 176 fantasy points with the Raiders. That makes him a valuable No. 1 TE for this squad.

  • Brandin Cooks

Reach Pick: Are you friends with Denzel Washington? Because you must have had an "Inside Man" telling you to select Cooks in the 8th round, about 24 picks earlier than his ADP of 113. You might be onto something, though. Projected to score 165 fantasy points this season with the Texans, he looks poised to surpass last year when he hauled in 42 passes for 583 yards and 2 TDs in 14 games, earning 98 fantasy points. Based on projections, Cooks will slot in as the No. 3 WR for Hey Darnold! to begin the season.

Draft Notes

  • With the selections of Pittsburgh, Chase Claypool, and Ben Roethlisberger, Hey Darnold! had the highest number of Steelers of any team in Double Stuff Racing League. The Steelers were also popular with your leaguemates, as nine of them were selected in the draft, more than any other NFL team.

  • Hey Darnold! face a tough task in Week 8 when they have five players on a bye (Ben Roethlisberger, Brandin Cooks, Pittsburgh, Randall Cobb, and Chase Claypool). Your Week 8 opponent, Big Blue, won't be quite as encumbered with only two players (Terry McLaurin and Chase Edmonds) on the sideline.

  • For the first three weeks of the season, Hey Darnold! have one of the toughest schedules in Double Stuff Racing League according to projections with an early-season strength of schedule rated as the 3rd-most difficult. In spite of that, for the full season, Hey Darnold! have drawn a pretty fair path that ranks as the 7th hardest.

  • In spite of an unfilled position at TE in the 6th round, Hey Darnold! drafted RB Ronald Jones II at No. 65, filling the WR/RB flex position instead of a higher leverage position.

How We Grade

Draft grades are based strictly on teams' draft performances. This is calculated by counting the number of fantasy points teams are projected to score over the course of the season using their optimal line-ups. The grades do not take schedule into account. Because of bye weeks and other variables it is possible to earn a high grade yet be projected to finish in the middle of the pack. The opposite is also true. Bottom line: Fantasy Football is like the real game. You can draft the greatest talent in the world but you still need to manage your team every week to get the most out of that talent. As a wise man once said, "On any given Sunday..."
