Offensively challenged Dallas Cowboys knock off Cincinnati Bengals, 23-17
Despite posting only the 12th-highest point total in the league for the week, Dallas Cowboys emerged victorious with a 23-17 victory over Cincinnati Bengals. Cincinnati Bengals took the first lead in the matchup on Sunday afternoon, but Dallas Cowboys held the lead the rest of the way, powered by Ezekiel Elliott (96 Rush Yds, 1 Rush TD, 31 Rec Yds, 1 Rec TD) and Greg Zuerlein (1-2 FG, 33 long, 2-2 XP). Randy Bullock (7 points) and Joe Burrow (6) led the charge for Cincinnati Bengals in the loss. Dallas Cowboys (1-0) will look to earn another W against Pit Steelers (ZS), while Cincinnati Bengals (0-1) will attempt to right the ship against Seattle Seahawks.
In a 20-17 loss to the Rams, Elliott scored 10 points to beat his 6.12-point projection. He racked up 127 yards from scrimmage and scored 2 touchdowns to beat his projection by the highest percentage of any player on Dallas Cowboys this week. Next week, Elliott will square off against the Falcons.
Dallas Cowboys
Well, we do respect the confidence this past week, Dallas Cowboys. Deploying not one, not two, but THREE starters with zero points (Michael Gallup, CeeDee Lamb, and Blake Jarwin), while still earning the win... that's playing with fire! All we ask is to please limit that flashy, show-off type of stuff to the early regular season. Can you imagine how silly we'd look if we let it happen in the playoffs?
Cincinnati Bengals
Whoa now, talk about under-utilized. As a group, the starting RBs for Cincinnati Bengals collectively recorded just three targets this past week. Instruct those offensive coordinators to draw up some screen plays in Week 2!
