Bruising Knights fall short of expectations, succumb to PwnStars, 173.4-163.3
There's no easy way to put it, Bruising Knights dropped the ball, at least compared to projections, as PwnStars secured a 173.4-163.3 victory. Bruising Knights grabbed a 48.9-point lead on Thursday behind impressive performances from Patrick Mahomes (25.03 points) and David Johnson (23.9). But PwnStars held the lead the rest of the way, powered by Ezekiel Elliott (96 Rush Yds, 1 Rush TD, 31 Rec Yds, 1 Rec TD) and Matt Ryan (450 Pass Yds, 2 Pass TDs). PwnStars (1-0) will look to sustain their winning ways against cheeseheads, while Bruising Knights (0-1) attempt to get back on track against jichanorthNJ.
Elliott (96 Rush Yds, 1 Rush TD, 31 Rec Yds, 1 Rec TD) scored 37.2 points in a 20-17 lost to the Rams in Week 1. His scoring output was 37.1% more than his 27.13-point projection. Elliott ranks #11 among all fantasy players this season and will face the Falcons next week.
Sunday Early
There were players with big-time moments for both teams early Sunday, but it was Bruising Knights who emerged with the lead, 124.6-75.3. For PwnStars, Matt Ryan had a 44-yard pass. DK Metcalf made the highlight reel for Bruising Knights with a 38-yard touchdown catch.
Sunday Late
Jared Cook had a 46-yard catch for PwnStars, who trailed 147.0-121.2 after the late games.
PwnStars
You know what, PwnStars, we do appreciate the confidence. It's a bold move to play a starter with zero points (Matt Gay), while still earning the win. All we ask is to please limit those flashy shenanigans to the early regular season. Try it in the playoffs and we're finished.
Bruising Knights
Well, we certainly can't complain about a shortage of opportunities this week, can we? Our four pass-catchers (three WR and one TE) were targeted a whopping 30 times in Week 1. Chemistry seems to be an issue, as that group managed just 16 receptions.
