Offensively challenged Sledgehammers defeat Cowboy Chip, 105-90
Ranking seventh in the league in points scored for the week, Sledgehammers were fortunate to earn a win against a foe that performed even worse, coming out on top with a 105-90 win over Cowboy Chip. Cowboy Chip took a 3-point lead early Sunday afternoon, but Sledgehammers held the lead the rest of the way. They were led by Kirk Cousins, who passed for 343 yards and 3 touchdowns for 44 points, and Calvin Ridley, who caught 6 passes for 61 yards and a touchdown (18 points). Derrick Henry (212 Rush Yds, 2 Rush TDs, 52 Rec Yds) and the Pittsburgh Steelers defense (7 Pts Allowed, 200 Yds Allowed, 2 Turnovers) were the leaders for Cowboy Chip in the loss. This marks the first time this season Sledgehammers have beaten Cowboy Chip, after falling 137-100 in their last matchup. Sledgehammers (4-2) will look to keep it rolling against Aida Wildcats, while Cowboy Chip (3-3) will try to get back on track against Warriors of Angels.
Cousins scored 44 points against the Falcons in Week 6 to beat his 34.43-point projection. He passed for 343 yards and 3 touchdowns to beat his projection by the highest percentage of any player on Sledgehammers this week. In Week 7, Cousins and the Vikings will battle the Packers.
