Space Force overcome starter's goose egg, come back to defeat Mississippi in 474.20-460.48 battle
Despite a goose egg from Danny Johnson, Space Force were able to persevere and earn the victory, coming from behind for a 474.20-460.48 win over Mississippi. Trailing 444.48-376.32 heading into Sunday night, Space Force charged back behind Stefon Diggs (10 Rec, 130 Rec Yds, 1 Rec TD) and Diontae Johnson (4 Rec, 40 Rec Yds). Justin Herbert (59.2 points) and Travis Kelce (57.2) were the top scorers for Mississippi in the loss. This marks the third time this season Space Force have beaten Mississippi, after winning 522.45-419.76 in their last matchup. Space Force will look to keep it rolling in the semifinals next week, while Mississippi attempt to bounce back and lock up a top-6 finish.
Diggs overachieved for the eighth time this season, scoring 63.13 points against his 37.78-point projection. In a 26-15 win over the Steelers, he caught 10 passes for 130 yards and a touchdown. Diggs ranks #30 among all fantasy players this season and will face the Broncos next week.
Sunday Early
There were players with highlight-reel plays for both teams early Sunday, but it was Space Force who grabbed the lead, 255.82-188.73. For Space Force, Patrick Mahomes had a 44-yard touchdown pass. Ryan Tannehill made the highlight reel for Mississippi with a 37-yard touchdown pass.
Sunday Late
Nelson Agholor had a 21-yard touchdown catch for Mississippi to contribute to a 444.48-376.32 lead for the team.
Space Force
You know what, Space Force, we do certainly appreciate the confidence. It's a bold move to roll out a starter with zero points (Danny Johnson), while still getting a W.
Mississippi
Here's a list of scenarios where it's borderline acceptable to go 0-for-2 in sports: A double-fault in tennis, a hitter's line in baseball, and a pair of Shaquille O'Neal free throws. That's just about it. Going 0-for-2 on field goal attempts this past week? Sounds like Wil Lutz might be kicking himself to the waiver wire following this effort... especially every point being so crucial for Mississippi in this narrow matchup.
