When a bottom-half draft slot produces top-half results, that's the sign of a strong effort by the GM. Such was the case with Dirty Hippies, which flipped its No. 8 overall pick into a projected 5th-place finish in OklahomIraqis League NFC. The team is notably strong at running back, as Joe Mixon and Kenyan Drake are expected to combine for the 4th-highest point total of all starting RB groups in the league. Dirty Hippies are predicted to put up a total of 2,488 points based on the current roster, which would result in a 10-3 record.

  • Justin Jefferson

Biggest Steal: Dirty Hippies scored a nice late-round bargain in picking Jefferson in the 13th round, about four rounds later than his ADP of 127. Jefferson is projected to score 167 fantasy points with the Vikings, which makes him the No. 5 WR for this squad.

  • Marvin Jones Jr.

Going out on a Limb: Are you willing to reveal your source? We'd love to know what prompted you to select Jones Jr. in the 5th round, about three rounds earlier than his ADP of 109. Then again, perhaps you're onto something. Projected to score 225 fantasy points this season with the Lions, he looks set to beat last year when he had 62 receptions for 779 yards and 9 TDs over 13 games, posting 194 fantasy points. Jones Jr. will slot in as the No. 2 WR for Dirty Hippies, according to projected points.

Draft Notes

  • Dirty Hippies will live and die with the Steelers this season, as the selections of James Conner, Pittsburgh, and Eric Ebron give them three players from Pittsburgh, the most of any team in your league. League-wide, the 49ers were the most popular team, as 10 of them were selected in the draft.

  • Week 8 could be a rude awakening for Dirty Hippies, as they have five players on a bye (Kenyan Drake, James Conner, Terry McLaurin, Eric Ebron, and Pittsburgh). On the bright side, your Week 8 opponent, Hangovers, will be tackling a similar conundrum with four players getting the week off.

  • Based on projected records, Dirty Hippies have one of the hardest schedules early on in OklahomIraqis League NFC with a first-half strength of schedule rated as the 4th-most difficult. Despite that, for the season as a whole, Dirty Hippies have drawn a pretty fair path that ranks as the 10th toughest.

  • Even with remaining openings at QB, WR, and TE in the 3rd round, Dirty Hippies selected RB James Conner at No. 36, filling the WR/RB flex position at the expense of a position of greater need. They were the second squad to fill a flex position.

How We Grade

Draft grades are based strictly on teams' draft performances. This is calculated by counting the number of fantasy points teams are projected to score over the course of the season using their optimal line-ups. The grades do not take schedule into account. Because of bye weeks and other variables it is possible to earn a high grade yet be projected to finish in the middle of the pack. The opposite is also true. Bottom line: Fantasy Football is like the real game. You can draft the greatest talent in the world but you still need to manage your team every week to get the most out of that talent. As a wise man once said, "On any given Sunday..."
