Blessed with a solid draft position (No. 6 overall), expectations were high for The Dogs of War. Then they drafted, and those expectations vanished quickly, as this team is headed for a lackluster 9th-place finish in OklahomIraqis League NFC. The Dogs of War are projected to post a record of 5-8 (2,403 points).

  • Lamar Jackson

Best Pick: What a nice early bargain for The Dogs of War, who selected Jackson with the 6th pick of the 3rd round, about 17 picks later than his ADP of 17. After a season in which he threw for 3,127 yards and 36 TDs with 6 interceptions and accumulated 1,206 yards and 7 TDs, totaling 519 fantasy points, Jackson is projected to score 470 fantasy points with the Ravens. That makes him a valuable No. 1 QB for this squad.

  • Emmanuel Sanders

Reach Pick: Either you know something that nobody else knows or you got a little carried away with your choice of Sanders in the 6th round, about three rounds earlier than his ADP of 121. Projected to score 182 fantasy points this season with the Saints, he will need to outperform expectations to improve on last year when he caught 66 balls for 869 yards and 5 TDs to earn 193 fantasy points. According to projections, Sanders will slot in as the No. 3 WR for The Dogs of War to begin the season.

Draft Notes

  • The Dogs of War are in for a rude awakening in Week 9 when they have four players on a bye (Jared Goff, Austin Hooper, Alshon Jeffery, and Jake Elliott). AMMODOG, your Week 9 opponent, won't be quite as limited with only two players (Cooper Kupp and Gerald Everett) on the sideline.

  • Based on projections, The Dogs of War have a fairly balanced schedule in OklahomIraqis League NFC this season with a strength of schedule rated as the 6th hardest.

  • With an average of 4.9 years of NFL experience, ranking in the middle of the pack for the league, The Dogs of War seem to be balancing both youth and experience. Some experience is preferred, though, as they didn't pick any of the 26 rookies drafted.

  • Even with an open slot at TE in the 7th round, The Dogs of War chose RB Marlon Mack with the 90th pick, filling the WR/RB flex position rather than a more important position.

How We Grade

Draft grades are based strictly on teams' draft performances. This is calculated by counting the number of fantasy points teams are projected to score over the course of the season using their optimal line-ups. The grades do not take schedule into account. Because of bye weeks and other variables it is possible to earn a high grade yet be projected to finish in the middle of the pack. The opposite is also true. Bottom line: Fantasy Football is like the real game. You can draft the greatest talent in the world but you still need to manage your team every week to get the most out of that talent. As a wise man once said, "On any given Sunday..."
