After drawing a juicy draft position (No. 2 overall), Long Island Steelers had an exceptional performance. With Saquon Barkley and Melvin Gordon III expected to combine for the 3rd-highest point total of all starting RB groups in the league, Long Island Steelers are projected to finish 3rd in CZNFL A League 20 with a record of 11-2 (1,854 points).

  • Melvin Gordon III

Best Pick: What a nice early value for Long Island Steelers, who picked up Gordon III at No. 47, about 12 picks later than his ADP of 35. Following a season in which he ran for 612 yards and 8 TDs and had 42 catches for 296 yards and 1 TD in 12 games, totaling 160 fantasy points, Gordon III is projected to score 195 fantasy points with the Broncos. That makes him a valuable No. 2 RB for this squad.

  • James White

Regression Candidate: Of the 15 players chosen by Long Island Steelers, White is expected to decline the most from last year among the players on the offensive side of the ball. Coming off a season in which he ran for 263 yards and 1 TD and had 72 catches for 645 yards and 5 TDs, totaling 164 fantasy points, White is projected to score 139 fantasy points with the Patriots, a 15% reduction. That would make him the No. 3 RB for this squad.

Draft Notes

  • Long Island Steelers are in for a rude awakening in Week 11 when they have five players on a bye (Saquon Barkley, Allen Robinson II, San Francisco, Golden Tate, and Chicago). Fortunately, your Week 11 opponent, Wizardos Tiburones, will be facing a similar conundrum with four players on a bye week.

  • Long Island Steelers face one of the least challenging schedules in CZNFL A League 20 this season according to projections with a strength of schedule that ranks as the 3rd easiest.

  • Long Island Steelers appear to have prioritized experience, assembling a lineup with an average of 5.8 years of NFL experience, ranking as the oldest group in the league. To that end, they didn't select any of the 19 rookies drafted.

  • It's clear that Long Island Steelers focused on accumulating elite talent, having put together a fairly top-heavy roster. Collectively, the top players from each position are quite impressive, slated to score the 2nd-most points in the league. The rest of the roster, alternatively, doesn't inspire quite as much enthusiasm, as they're predicted to put up a point total that ranks in the middle of the pack.

How We Grade

Draft grades are based strictly on teams' draft performances. This is calculated by counting the number of fantasy points teams are projected to score over the course of the season using their optimal line-ups. The grades do not take schedule into account. Because of bye weeks and other variables it is possible to earn a high grade yet be projected to finish in the middle of the pack. The opposite is also true. Bottom line: Fantasy Football is like the real game. You can draft the greatest talent in the world but you still need to manage your team every week to get the most out of that talent. As a wise man once said, "On any given Sunday..."
