Offensively challenged Splintered beat What?!, 106.50-73.50
While they posted only the seventh-highest point total in the league for the week, Splintered secured a 106.50-73.50 victory over What?!. Splintered earned an early 14.50-point lead on Thursday. What?! bounced back to take the lead during the early slate on Sunday, powered by Dalvin Cook (24 points) and Justin Tucker (16). Unphased, Splintered rallied later that night, as Patrick Mahomes (17.75 points) and the Indianapolis Colts defense (16.25) put them back ahead once and for all. Splintered improve to 4-1 on the season, while What?! fall to 4-1.
Against the Cowboys in Week 5, Jones scored 45.5 points to more-than-triple his 13.17-point projection. He racked up 182 yards from scrimmage and ran for 4 touchdowns to beat his projection by the highest percentage of any RB in the league this season. Jones will play the Lions next week.
Splintered
We do appreciate the confidence this past week, Splintered. Deploying a starter with zero points (Sammy Watkins), while still getting a W... that's playing with fire. All we ask is to please keep that flashy, show-off type of stuff to the early regular season. Can you imagine how silly we'd look if we let it happen in the playoffs?
What?!
"Not getting enough looks" shouldn't really be an excuse this week for What?!. Our four pass-catchers (three WR and one TE) were targeted a grand total of 20 times in Week 5. With just 12 total receptions, that group may need to work on chemistry with their QBs.
