Gritz Blitz manage to beat Spoon 84.5-68.5

Both teams failed to rise to the occasion, but Gritz Blitz did enough to beat Spoon, securing an 84.5-68.5 win. Spoon nabbed a 9.5-point lead on Saturday behind Tyler Higbee (12 points) and Lavonte David (9), but Gritz Blitz held the lead the rest of the way. They were led by Melvin Gordon III, who racked up 47 yards from scrimmage and ran for 2 touchdowns for 18 points, and Lamar Jackson, who passed for 238 yards and 3 touchdowns and ran for 103 yards (16 points). Tyler Higbee (9 Rec, 104 Rec Yds) and DeVante Parker (5 Rec, 111 Rec Yds, 1 Rec TD) did everything they could for Spoon in the loss. This marks the second time this season Gritz Blitz have taken down Spoon, after winning 118-93 in their last matchup. Gritz Blitz will look to keep it rolling in the Championship next week, while Spoon seek to bounce back and lock up 3rd Place.

Coach Talk

Gritz Blitz
Props to you, Gritz Blitz. Deploying a starting crew that earned 84.5 points this past week.
Spoon
Unless Spoon wants to go diva-mode on us, then "not seeing enough opportunities" is not a viable excuse this time around. As a group, our pass-catching corps (two WR, one TE) collectively got a grand total of 30 targets in Week 16. With just 14 total catches, this group may have some chemistry issues.
