Wu-Tang overcome multiple busts, knock off Billsrback, 273-219
Both teams were impeded by starters who put up 0 points, but Wu-Tang were able to persevere and earn the victory, coming out on top with a 273-219 win over Billsrback. Billsrback leapt out to a 69-point lead on Saturday behind a combined 64 points from Matt Milano (12 Tackles) and Jameis Winston (335 Pass Yds, 1 Pass TD, 16 Rush Yds). But Wu-Tang held the lead the rest of the way, powered by Jerome Baker, who made 12 tackles for 39 points, and the New Orleans Saints defense, who allowed 28 points, surrendered 397 yards, and forced a fumble (25 points). Wu-Tang will look to not lose that winning feeling in the Championship next week, while Billsrback seek to bounce back and finish the season with a win in the 3rd Place game.
Gesicki overachieved for the seventh time this season, scoring 20 points against his 5.44-point projection. In a 38-35 win over the Bengals, he caught 6 passes for 82 yards and 2 touchdowns. Gesicki will face the Patriots next week.
Saturday
Josh Allen had a 53-yard touchdown pass for Billsrback, while Nick Folk had a 51-yard field goal, helping Billsrback to a 122-53 lead.
Sunday Early
Both teams had players with standout moments early Sunday, but it was Wu-Tang who owned the lead, 208-158. Mike Gesicki had a 31-yard touchdown catch for Wu-Tang, while Sterling Shepard had a 23-yard touchdown catch. Jared Cook made the highlight reel for Billsrback with a 61-yard touchdown catch.
Wu-Tang
You know what, Wu-Tang, we do certainly respect the confidence. Deploying not one, but TWO starters with zero points (Adam Thielen and Christian Kirk), while still getting the W... that's borderline cocky.
Billsrback
Yo, Billsrback, did your wideouts drop too many balls in practice or something? Seeing only 10 targets as a group this past week, our five wide receivers obviously need to get in their respective QBs' ears this week in practice.
